Cocoa Beach Ale House 5590 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, FL 32931 2 Stars While my reputation, for good or ill, often precedes me at this stage of my life, no one can ever say I don't at least care for my fellow human. Otherwise,...why would I venture forth unto Tourist Trap Haven, aka Cocoa Beach, once again? I feel like a broken record bashing food in Cocoa Beach, however, it is what it is and I call it like it is. Once again I am being served Grade A Slop with a great vibe, but I get ahead of myself. Shannon is our server/bartender. She is outstanding in every way a server can and should be. Shannon was the lone bright star in this sea of food misery. Thank you, Shannon! I put in an order for a Big Bleu Burger and some Coconut Shrimp. If you look at the pics you will notice this place has loads of TVs and an extremely happy vibe. It seems like a great place to knock back a few of your favorite adult beverages while taking in a game or three. Shannon soon returned with our fare, and after taking a few snapshots of the slop served, I got to work. This went downhill fast. The Big Blue Burger is your basic low-level fast-food patty served along with frozen chips. There is no way to disguise that bottom-of-the-barrel burger taste. It is distinct and disgusting. Moving on to the Coconut Shrimp. Again, this was your lowest-level frozen shrimp with a, no doubt, per-packaged frozen warm-in-bag type sauce. Honestly, I can get better-tasting frozen crap in the frozen seafood section at Publix. Overall, this food is not terrible. It is not swill alert-worthy, but it is thoughtless, brainless fresh-from-frozen food. In fact, it's reminiscent of the slop at Sandbar and Cocoa Seafood. I even asked Shannon if it was the same owner(s) (it's not). I can only surmise that this place was some sort of appanage to the owner, and they are running it blindly, only thinking of the bottom line, not the quality of the foodstuff. As I said, I'm sure it's a fun place to have a few while taking in a game with your buds, but… The Big Boy says, “The food is an easy skip.”More

I was very disappointed with the treatment of the staff. They were very unfriendly. They gave us the food without so much as saying anything and walked away. I understand we all have our days but this was very unprofessional. I have never been so...humiliated or spoken to in such an attitude. My sister had gone and asked for salt, the waiter responded for her to go and sit back down and he would get it for her. Very rude interactions. I had also asked if I could use a plug for my laptop to charge. I made sure I asked the waiter and she said it was okay. A few minutes later, one of the other staff pulled out my plug without letting me know and said this is not allowed. Very rude and unprofessional treatment. I would have appreciated it if you had let me know respectfully instead of talking this way. I do not want to come back if I do not have to!More

This is my first review . Went there for dinner parking lot was empty should have been a warning..The waitress took our drink order then 15 later came to the table and asked what we like to drink again. Just at looked at her and...wondered what she was on. A few minutes later she brought the water then left and brought the beer five minutes later saying the bar was busy with other orders…Asked if we ready to order should have asked for check for the beer and left…Ordered two salads and forty five minutes they appeared..My wife’s salad was in big bowl and mine was in a smaller bowl and we order the same thing…When the check came I paid with cash didn’t want to disappear again….More

Server Jodi was nice and friendly. She got us our drinks then took our order. We ordered the appetizer sampler. It took forever and then we were told they were out of jalapeños poppers which they substituted for cheese fries. The boneless wings were chicken...nuggets with sauce drizzled on them. Over cooked onion rings and tiny cheese sticks. Mediocre at best.More

Wandered in, since we're staying at a hotel in the neighborhood, trying to get some takeout that we could just bring back to the hotel room. Proceeded to wait almost an hour for a couple of sandwiches. Everybody told us (after half an hour of...waiting) that a large online order had just come in and backed up the kitchen. To that I say, that's not the customer's problem. Manage your kitchen better. If you know your peak times, don't take an online order that will crash everything. Sure you got the revenue from that big order, but now you've annoyed all the customers that sat around and waited an hour for their food. How many of them do you think aren't coming back? Or are they running to the review sites to speak of their poor experience? The host, Marco, was doing what he could. Very friendly, pleasant service. But he's limited in his ability to do his job if the kitchen doesn't say, "We're in the weeds, let customers know there's going to be a wait." If we walked in and Marco had said, "The kitchen's backed up, it's going to take about an hour," we would have thanked him and gone somewhere else. But instead, we sat, and we ordered, and I paid, and then we waited and waited and waited because now we were stuck. At what point during an evening like that do you say, "OK, forget it, give me my money back?" because now I'm out that time, and I still don't have any food. So you're stuck waiting for who knows how long, trying to keep your patience and not take it out on people like Marco, who are doing their best. The food was fine - average, really, for a place like this. By the time the food showed up we were starving so we weren't in a position to turn our noses up at anything.More

we have been in this area for our third year and have been deterred from trying this restaurant due to numerous bad reviews i have been in other Ale Houses that i would return to as they were that good this one lived up to...all of the bad reviews and we truly had bad service and bad cold food the server was argumentative upon hearing complaints about the meal it had cold fries that i had ordered with cheese and bacon and cold fried chicken that we waited for 15 minutes to have delivered to our table in a restaurant empty of other customers she argued that we did not wait at all. sent my meal back waited 12 minutes for it to be brought to me as my husband finished his burger which was good with HIS cold fries. my food was now hot but previous same fries had been put into the fryer with previous cheese cooked into them and some sprinkled on top. this was now greasy hot and inedible. the waitress now says they were good but she would take it off the bill (she now identifies herself as the manager) and wants to know what could been done differently i told her again that food was cold (with her interrupting to tell me the cole slaw was cold) she said she brought it out quickly as it came up into the window and brought to us she again denies we waited 15 minutes the first time . at this point it was very evident with her defensive attitude that we were done with this i told her to bring the bill she did stating “we cooked it twice and it is on the bill” if this note makes it to the owner of this establishment, I hope he or she takes a close look at why there are so many terrible reviews. staff like this will not ever help you business i expect that since i am writing on your FB page it will be removed i plan on posting my experience in as many social media places possibleMore

Stopped in for lunch last week on our way to Port Canaveral. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it looked inviting so we gave it a shot. It was a Thursday so the place was slow but the service was perfect. Attentive waitress who was...very helpful and friendly. The fare is obviously bar food but it’s prepared and presented well. Very appealing and appetizing. Prices seem to be a little above market but since the service was great and the food good we looked past the price. I’d recommend the Cocoa Beach Ale House.More

Today we stopped by the house in Cocoa Beach and had a great dinner. Our server was Chevy and Marko assisted. Both servers were amazing and made our dinner extra special, and Marco went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable he was...helping other folks to do their tables and just watching him made me tired, but it really showed how well he he is a part of his team and cares about the rest of the team. Chevy was fabulous and getting our food out on time and was forever moving and shaking so that he can get everyone served in a quick matter. We appreciate it both of them.More
