We wanted to try Frenchy's Rockaway but were told it would be a 90 minute wait so stopped at the cafe instead (5 min wait). We ended up really liking the street side cafe vibe with the little tables and fire pits. We ordered grouper sandwiches and rum drinks, both incredible! FYI, the sandwiches are gigantic! You could split the large one between 2 people. Frenchy's is definitely a Clearwater Beach institution for a reason, I'd whole-heartedly recommend trying it!

Let’s start by saying the service was tremendously slow. We sat at our table for over 25 minutes before the first server came to us - and it wasn’t even busy at the time. I had to go up and ask one of the 4 workers standing at the hostess table if we had to order at the bar or wait for someone to service us. Only then 15 mins later did we see our first service. Our meal came out before our drinks, and we were done eating by the time our drinks came out. Couldn’t find our waitress to ask her where are our drinks. We only saw her a handful of time. We both had the chicken tenders which were gross, tasted like fish. I think the best part of the meal was the Kens Ranch Dressing. The batter tasted like fish and just wasn’t good. We got draft beers which didn’t have a price tag on them but were the same $7.50 price as a vodka drink - way over priced. The only thing good about this place was that it is right on the water and you can watch the sunset. Although our service was so slow that even when we rushed to get the check we still missed it. There was a live band but more like a rock concert make it really loud.

This is the hot spot in the area! We stayed at one of the resorts in the area and the employees suggested this place for some local food and good drinks. They were spot on right. Good food, descent drinks and friendly service. We had the fish dip with hot sauce and boy was it good. It made for a great afternoon snack to get us by until dinner. This was around 4:00 p.m. on a Friday afternoon and great for people watching. We also went back in the evening around 8:00 pm for dessert and when we asked to sit in the corner near the road we were told it was not ready to be cleared yet so we were taken to a table in the middle (this is outdoor seating). Less than a minute later another couple was taken to the table we asked for. How rude and inappropriate! Insist on sitting where you want!!!

After we order all the food the hostess told us that the 2 kids we had in our party couldn’t eat McDonald’s in the table even though we order 4 full plates. They wanted us to tell the kids to eat in a bench outside the restaurant on a side walk. The two kids are 12 and 6...

I went to French's cafe after reading some really good reviews online - food was good although the salad was a bit salty - however the waitress was even less palatable than the salad. I imagine that the service in North Korea would be better. It was like being at the zoo stuck in the polar bear enclosure and the polar bear hasn't eaten in 10 days.

We stopped here for lunch as this location was recommended by a friend. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server, Carmen. We began our mission of the Frenchy's passport game. You buy certain drinks at 4 different Frenchy locations and get a T-Shirt. So we ordered drinks and ordered our food. We ordered a salad, a cheese quesadillas, chicken platter and the walnut chicken salad and more drinks. Carmen was great! She took care of us, laughed with us and provided good conversation. Our meals were great, good prices and great location near beach. Food was excellent and really enjoyed ourselves. Located across from thd Clearwater beach.

My partner chose the Caribbean Grouper Sandwich with jerk spices and jerk sauce, lettuce, tomato, provolone, onion roll. He added a side salad and onion rings.
I chose the Cajun Grouper Sandwich with artar, lettuce, tomato, parmesan & romano and had it on a children's hamburger bun. I added a side salad.
Our salads were excellent.
The onion rings were extremely greasy, but very tasty.
The grouper sandwiches were really just average.
The atmosphere at this place was great and our server was very attentive.

Great restaurant right off the boardwalk and beach.
Good selection of beers at HH prices, great grouper sandwich, fries could be much better. Sitting up at the bar was a great place to meet people.

My friend was craving lobster macaroni and cheese, and since we had never been to Frenchy's, we decided to try it. My friend was happy with her Lobster Mac and I enjoyed the Tropical Chicken Walnut Salad. Good food and great service. Highly recommended.

Went on a Thursday and sat quickly. Ordered the full rack of ribs and 2 sides for $16.95. Great flavor. The corn on the cob was excellent. Service was great. In addition we ordered a kids chicken tender basket and clam stripes with crab fries. Overall, very pleased. Total price $50. Would recommend.

Of the 2 Frenchy's that I went to, this one is the BEST. Just 2 blocks from my hotel, it was super convenient. And, it is right across the street from Clearwater Beach. Perfect! The staff here is extraordinarily friendly. The first time I was there for lunch, and sat at the bar, where I am ever so comfortable. The MOD, a handsome young guy, made a point of asking me about my meal. When I told him how exquisite the flavors were and perfect execution, he was over the top. Cute boy!! He seemed super appreciative when I told him I was retired after 40 years in F&B. I know my food!
On that 1st visit, I was smart enough to order the
Almond Encrusted Grouper Salad.
Anytime you see "nut encrusted fish", just close the menu and order the fish. Period. The fact that my bartender was polite, friendly, and congenial helped immensely! The portion of Grouper was GIGANTIC! Done to perfection. That always impresses me, as preparing fish/seafood is not my forte. The gentleman sitting by me was eating a small cup of conch soup, so I felt a little strange with this huge salad in front of me. However, it didn't stop me from diving in. :-) Maybe someday I will have enough nerve to eat conch. It seems to be on every menu around here!
The 2nd time I stopped it was early evening, and I got seated outside. It was lovely out, even for a January eve. This time I hit the jackpot again:
Bacon Wrapped Scallops with BBQ Sauce.
This whole thing of glazing bbq sauce on shrimp and scallops is genius. In Minnesota, Scallops, Bacon, and Pineapple are the Holy Trinity. This was a delightful change. I also had a cup of their She Crab Soup, another winner.

I went for an early dinner after arriving in town by myself. There were tons of open tables. I requested a table that would allow me to enjoy the sunset but I was seated near the bar instead. I was not at all impressed by the hostess. She seemed hassled although I don’t know why because there was hardly anyone there. After waiting for the server for about 10 minutes I went back to the hostess and specifically pointed to a group of empty tables and requested that I be reseated so I could see the sunset. She complied by saying “sit wherever you want“. Her rudeness was made up for by my friendly and helpful server. He was awesome! My food was absolutely mediocre but the sunset was breathtakingly spectacular. In the end, I’d say it’s a great location and a good place to stop and get a cold beer and a basket of fries but there are many better options if you actually want dinner.

We sat at the sidewalk tables so we would have front row to see the sunset. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. Frenchy’s Garlic Crab Fries are to die for as is the Grouper Oscar and the Seafood Trio. All recommended by our waiter and we were very pleased. Defiantly on the return list for future visits.

We had been here day before and spoke to Manager on Duty and he told us they had Stone Crab Claws, so came back later that day to eat the crab claws. Expensive, larges we're $31.00 per lb. They were delicious and warmed to where I could get every morsel of crab. The venue was across street from beach,
