After staying in St. Petersburg we then stayed in Clearwater Beach for 2 days. For dinner we did not want to eat at the restaurants in our hotel. We wanted to find a place that was local. We totally loved the Bob Heilman’s Beachcomber. It...has a combination class and professionalism and friendliness that gave us a very good dining experience. Check out the menu and you will find something really good and that is going to be prepared very well. Steaks, fish, chicken - they have it all. And the wine list was extensive. The prices were good. Our server, Danny was fantastic. We liked our dinner so much and we liked his service so much that we actually came back for dinner the 2nd night. If we were staying a third night we 3rd have come back again. I fully recommend Bob Heilman’s Beachcomber.More

Upscale and classy, definitely has “old school” charm. Food was very good, pricey but I’d say the worth the money. Clams casino app was a total let down - the bacon covering the clam was bigger than the clam, and barely any toppings. I’ve never...had clams that were so devoid of clams before. But the rest of the meal was great - salad was yummy (coleslaw top notch), surf and turf was solid. Nice lobster tail and filet. Very happy. Bordeaux was delish. And the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was AMAZING. Our waiter was top notch, very polite and on point. Great mustache! We would def come back, there were other items I wanted to try and will next time. Thank you!More

This was my third visit to the restaurant, a local legend in Clearwater Beach (and a prior connection in Ohio). A friend of mine and her family invited me to join them for her birthday celebration dinner. There were 5 of us. Our reservation was...for 7 p.m. and we were seated promptly in the high-ceiling, bright and airy main dining room fronting Mandalay Ave. visible from the large floor to ceiling windows. Restaurant parking is located in a lot at the rear. My dinner choice was Maryland Crab Cakes (2), accompanied by caramelized carrots (the vegetable of the day) and preceded by a spring greens salad with blue cheese dressing. I ordered a glass of house Pinot Grigio wine as my beverage. Salad greens were fresh but the blue cheese dressing was a disappointment, not much flavor; bland. The two seared crab cakes were a bit softer, more lightly cooked and less seasoned than I prefer but appreciatively lacked a lot of filler. The caramelized carrots were flavorful. Overall, for my taste buds ... the meal lacked seasoning. Though, I cleaned my plate! Service provided by the waiter was efficient, cordial and effective. Though, when asked his name the waiter informed us he was 'old school' and his preference was not to introduce himself to guests unless and until he was asked. We thought that odd. However, service was very good. For the Clearwater area (and for me personally, though I did not pay because I was invited) this is a 'special occasion' restaurant; the pricing of the menu reflects that. Per person cost for dinner with an app, one glass of wine, entree and dessert will cost in the range of $75+. There's also a lounge, and a piano player - whose music can be listened to throughout the restaurant.More

Fine dining for special occasion. Excellent drinks. Fried chicken dish they are noted is delicious. A bit skimpy on the seafood. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive without being annoying.

Party of 4 Friday night. Got there around 5:15 and the place was empty but filled up quickly. We all had some type of seafood dinner. My giant shrimp dish was delicious. The other meals were also delicious. Prices were a bit high but reasonable...for the quantity and quality of the food. Service was very good. The reason for my 4 star review - my Old Fashion was terrible, really terrible. Otherwise it was a 5 star evening.More

One of THE BEST overall dining experiences we've had! Not only was the food spectacular (the Bronzed Grouper is to die for), the ambiance is exquisite (white table cloth/live piano player) but the true highlight is the service! If you go, ask for Loveda! (Low-vee-duh)....She kicks the entire experience up a notch! She's fun, funny, attentive, and pays attention to EVERY detail. We loved every second of our time there and plan to go back soon. This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. It's intimate, romantic and is like taking a step back in time when dining was an "experience".More

Having visited this restaurant several times in the past, and having had the best of experience, it had to be our first place to eat when we arrived in Clearwater. What a shock to the system! The menu was sparce in what it offered and...over priced. My chicken was disgusting and the sauce made my eyes water with the amount of lime in it. I was presented with something called 'good old American slaw'the word slaw should have read SLOP! It was disgusting and contained far too much vinegar. My husband had fish which came with tasteless mashed potato and one piece of broccoli. Our server was lovely and apologised saying "it has not been the same here since COVID" that is not an excuse for poor quality over priced food. COVID was 4 years ago! We were not the only people unhappy with the food presented to them. We would never eat here again and during our stay in Clearwater, made people aware of our experience when they asked where we suggested they eat.More

Did a phenomenal job for a large party of 11 from start to finish. Personally I started with the French onion soup and went with the bronzed seafood platter for my entree (which was a great recommendation from one of the servers). Live piano was...a wonderful touch.More

Place has sadly gone downhill since previous visits. Limited menu & prices are high. Food was ok, not wow. It’s also obvious that no one cares about the upkeep of the place (dirty). See photos of bathroom.

Special New Year’s Eve menu was disappointing. Fried chicken was ok but $50 is out of line. Escargot was not the traditional but had red sauce and mushrooms for $22. I understand that serving a packed place in New Year’s is a challenge but a...piece of salmon and fried chicken for over $150 not againMore

Waited 60 minutes for a 5:00 reservation. Sat and waited 15 minutes for a server to acknowledge. Then waited for 20 minutes for drink delivery. We walked out. Yes it was Thanksgiving. But Thanksgiving in a holiday resort. NO ONE was happy to be working....We greeted the hostess and bartenders with Happy Thanksgiving. No one was happy, festive or even cordial. Not friendly. After 1 hour and 40 minutes for anything we left. Very disappointed. On a positive note went across the street to Blinkers and had absolutely the best service ever.More

One of the locals suggested we try the beachcomber restaurant and we are so glad we did. This is an upscale restaurant with great ambiance and a very professional waitstaff. There is a wonderful piano player during dinner which added to the sophistication of this...place. We ordered the fried eggplant and clams casino for appetizers. Both were very good. For entrees we had the black grouper and the bronzed seafood platter. Both were excellent but the standout was the seafood platter! Our waitress was fantastic! She did not rush us and we had a nice conversation with her. We throughly enjoyed our evening at the beachcomber and highly recommend it for an upscale dining experience. Will definitely be back!More

The bald headed f... who was the host almost ran to the door to kick us out as we entered. He profiled us. We knew it right away. Said they were closing early. They weren't . Waited 35 years to go there Then that happened....Like the other reviews we felt low. What a weasel. End of story.More
