About
At the Island Way Grill, we're all about fresh fish. Our boats make daily trips to the gulf where we retrieve fresh grouper, mahi, snapper and other local varieties. No long-line fish here-just hook, rod, and reel. If it's any fresher, it is still in the gulf. Majority of our dishes revolve around our oak and citrus fired open pit, which sears at an extremely high temperature and adds a delicious smokiness to everything grilled. You'll find an abundance of fresh herbs and only the best quality seasonings. Fresh vegetables are used throughout our menu, and all soups and sauces are hand-prepared daily. We take pride in providing an excellent selection of the world’s finest oysters, flown in fresh

We made reservations for 3 plus a dog to eat outside. When we arrived (on time) we were told there was no outside seating. The receptionist called over Kayla (the supervisor?) who listened and then said she would ask the manager. A few minutes later,...she returned and said we could sit inside with the dog. Kayla gave us a choice of booths. How is that for great service? Our meals were superb. The food was well cooked; the portions were ample and the service by Timothy was very attentive. We started with fried calamari - cooked perfectly and presented nicely. This was the only item that could have had a larger portion. The Capresso(sp?) was all fresh and well prepared - the bread was nicely toasted/broiled and the mozarrella cheese was fresh and creamy. The fresh warm crusty rolls with oil & fresh basil pesto on the side were perfect. Tim brought a 2nd serving without being asked. For entrees we had fresh grouper sandwich, scallops & sea bass fish & chips. Each of these was well prepared with ample portion. Desert was the sampler of 3 items - all well executed and beautifully presented. Keep up the good work! As new residents of FL, we will be back.More

We have spent 3 Thanksgiving holidays here and planning on going to Tampa to spend another this year. The spread always has something for everyone at a reasonable price.

Took advantage of their early bird specials and glad we did to beat the crowds. Overlooking the bay, the scenery is what you would expect and want in a Florida restaurant. For dinner, we ordered the Sea Bass Fish and Chips for me and the...coconut shrimp for my wife. The fish and chips were ok. Portion was large. Fish was a bit too 'fishy' for me (would prefer cod). Coconut shrimp was excellent (also a large portion). Did order the shrimp cocktail and it was loaded with medium size shrimp. Bread was served upon request. Service was very attentive.More

Sat outside, very pretty water view, we usually come for breakfast buffet w/gift card promo, but tonite was dinner for sunset. Miguel raced around, brought looong menu, lotsa sushi. I had salmon sashimi w/ginger, loved it. Hubby had smallest bone in rib-eye, was $41 bucks...w/side of potatoes (no salad or veggies). Dessert was sampler of 3 tiny but tasty items, key lime, creme brulee, & espresso choco cake bite, all delish. Valet wasn't there, no problem, lotsa parking, beautifully decorated place, get there early. :)More

We were visiting family in the area and they brought us to Island Way for dinner, as they thought we would enjoy the experience. We loved it. We took the opportunity to check out the various cuts of meat in the display case along with...other seafood selections, including oysters. In addition, we checked out the selections available at the sushi bar as we intended to try a sampler. Quickly seated, we appreciated that management had COVID protocols in place. As appetizers, we sampled the oysters and sushi (both fresh and excellent). I ordered the Sea Bass, as they were out of Red Snapper, and thoroughly enjoyed. My wife ordered the salmon with a side salad, both were very good. We liked the atmosphere and would love to return after the pandemic is gone to fully enjoy the surroundings. Enjoy.More

We had reservations here at 8pm, arrived 10 minutes early and we were seated immediately. The hostess staff were all warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful table outside right by the water. Sylvia was our server and she was friendly, attentive, and made us...feel like we were at home! The food and drinks were top chef! We had no complaints and enjoyed every minute of our time at Island Way Grill! I can’t wait to come back!More

The food was excellent but we felt rushed. We went for an anniversary dinner but had an early reservation because we didn’t want a heavy meal when we knew we couldn’t take leftovers. The early dining menu long longer includes salad or dessert and costs...$15. You can add small salad or shrimp scampi to several dishes for +$3 each which is what we did. We ordered the steak kabob(on coconut rice). & filet(on wasabi potatoes). My potatoes were the best part but the rest of the meal was good. After we ordered drinks ($12 for house Chardonnay) the waiter returned every few minutes to take our dinner order, always saying “I’ll give you a few more minutes”. We finally gave up & ordered. Only then did our bread arrive. We had just tasted it (and it was excellent with a rosemary olive oil dipping sauce) with than our salads arrived. Unforgettable our entrees were served shortly after we had started our salads. If not for being rushed, I would give Island Way 5 stars. I think maybe this may have been different had we not ordered from the early dining menu.More

My husband and I visited Island Way Grill for his birthday weekend which was also labor day weekend and even though we always visit Clearwater, this was the first time we tried Island Way Grill. It was a beautiful restaurant indoors. We chose to sit...out on the patio to see the beautiful view of the water. I had the lobster sushi roll and he had the salmon which was amazing. My lobster roll was made fresh to order, good sized portions, and had great flavor! The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because even though We wore masks until we got to our seat the tables seemed kinda close especially on such a busy day. Overall, the service was great and so was the food. It's a great datenight restaurant also!More

Yes, and they have an omelette station. They also had eggs Benedict as well as a Scottish version with salmon instead of ham. Fruit and blintzes too.
