Best View & Pina Colada in Clearwater

My husband & I found a table by the rail at this rooftop restaurant/bar for dinner on our recent trip to Clearwater. The view at night was gorgeous & we loved it so much, we went back the next day for lunch! You can see Pier 60, the beach, & the marina from this place! For dinner we started with the nachos & salsa and then my husband had the burger & chips & I had a salad. The nachos were warm & the salsa was very fresh - a bit spicy for me but I prefer everything mild. My husband loved his burger & my salad was tasty as well. I had 2 pina coladas & they were delicious. My husband had one as well followed by a beer. We both agreed they were the best pina coladas in Clearwater - nice and thick and icy - blended to perfection! The next day we went back for lunch & both had the burger. It was delicious! The view during the day was beautiful as well! The bartender that got our lunch was very accommodating because we arrived early & they weren't open for lunch yet but he told us what items we could get. As soon as he mentioned the burger, my husband said "perfect". We had a nice chat with the bartender & he provided excellent service! We would highly recommend this place for lunch, dinner or just drinks!

Had my first visit to Jimmy's Crows Nest and loved it. The staff are great although a bit slow but to their credit it was packed and only seen 2 waitresses so thumbs up for the work they were doing. Tje view from the rooftop is the best in Clearwater Beach by far. We met some really nice people and had great conversations. The food it mainly your typical bar/pub food but you have a large selection and the prices are fair considering prices at other local restaurants. We would definitely return to Jimmy's on our next visit to Clearwater Beach.

Great location and views

We had a few afternoon drinks and snack here. It was so pleasant sitting near the railing and taking in the views while the sun warmed us. It's a nice spot. Service started a little slow; slow enough that we wondered if we would be acknowledged as staff attended to others around us and cleaned a table next to us before saying a word. However, once the waitress stopped by then all was perfect. That just might be a bit of training to pass on to staff - simply acknowledge customers right away even if you have to say you'll be back.

Would not go again

We came here for lunch. There was only one waitress so service was very slow. Our order took forever to come out. We ordered nachos and it tasted like the cheese had been melted and then left out on the counter because it was hard and the him chips were stale.

Poor Execution

Phenomenal location/view but poor service and minimal menu killed it for us. We visited on Wednesday August 5 and it took long enough to get service that we considered just leaving since we had seen the view. The waitress did not seem to care to be there and once we saw the limited menu we just ordered a couple drinks. Its an amazing view but the menu was disappointing and the service was poor. The view is worth stopping up for a drink but plan another location for dinner.

Best View

A must! Jimmy's Crows Nest has the best view of the beach, and if you're up there during sunset, you are in for a breathtaking view. Drinks and prices are comparable to other restaurants and bars along the beach and the atmosphere is casual. I wore a swimsuit top and shorts. To get up to the restaurant/bar, you have to take the elevator of the hotel up to the top floor so don't be confused when you're trying to get on the same elevator as hotel guests.

Terrible place

We are on vacation in Clearwater Bay . We are from the UK Never write reviews but had too on this occasion. We have ate in many places while staying here having fantastic food served by fantastic staff At Jimmy’s we were served by the worst waitress we have ever come across . Her name on the bill was Ghost as she probaly does not give her real name out. She was rude ,aggressive totally,not what American serving staff are about. The couple before is we’re complaining to her too about her dreadful attitude. We decided the best way would be to leave no tip , she did not like that at all and came over to abuse us . If the owner or manager keeps this girl employed he must be mad . Luckily we never have to visit her again thank god . But had to write a review as felt to say nothing would be so wrong.

Sunset, Service Meh

The site is promoted as a great bar to watch the sunset. This was the purpose of our visit. The service was lackluster and was purely a tourist trap. We ordered the smoked fish spread and my partner found a large bone which ruined the meal. We felt rushed and in the way. Not something conducive to a great visit. I'd take a pass.

Great place to watch the sunset.

First thing, it's hard to find. It's at the very top of what looks like a parking garage. But don't park there. It's like $20. Instead park across the street at the public parking. About half the cost for a few hours. Next, get there early. The table looking out over the beach and for view of the sunset. They go fast. Luckily I had a friend who got there early and saved us a table. Nicely stocked bar but not all liquors. Meals were mostly quick meals, small sandwiches and salads. It's more about where you are than about the food. So grab a few friends, head on up and down a few drinks while waiting for the sun to set and get your pics in.

Go for the view!

This is definitely the best view in Clearwater. You see bayside, town, pier, and ocean. They give guests (21+) a shot and ring a bell at sunset which was cool. You go for the view & drinks not the food. We did eat and food was pretty good. Pulled pork sandwich was juicy, wings were ok, veggie bowl was ok but nothing fresh. If there was no view, you would not go for the food. Service was great, staff was friendly.

Very cool for sunset!

The manager at our motel told us to come here for the sunset. We went that evening. We ordered a drink each and chips. The chips were delicious! Then a server came around announcing "Sunset in 6 minutes". He gave everyone a shot. Then they announced "Sunset" and everyone toasted the sunset. That was so much fun!!

Hopping place before sunset

My perspective will be a little different since hubby and I were the oldest ones up here! :-) This place gets really busy around 7:00 as people are coming up here to watch the sunset. We got here around that time. All the tables were already filled but we managed to find two seats at the bar. We waited quite a while to get anything to drink--the two bartenders were that busy. It also took awhile to get his attention to order any food. Hubby had the pork quesidillas (he said they were awful) and I had the turkey panini (very bland). When it came time for the sunset everyone crowds in to snap a photo. We left right after. There were lots of young people who seemed to be having fun.

This is a touristy type place that has so-so food and fabulous views. Drinks and food are a bit pricey for what you get, but that kind of goes with the territory. A good place to meet with friends for a drink and see the beautiful beach, especially at sunset.

Worst service ever

I had visited Jimmy's Crow's Nest for dinner one night for the roof top view but boy were we in for a treat. We sat down at a table and the first encounter with our server should have been a warning. She walked over to our table slammed the menus down and walked away. Then when she came back she asked us "what do you want?" We had to pay for our food right after we ordered it before it even came to our table nor could we get more drinks. I don't know why we were treated so poorly by our server but as working in the service industry before, this was by far the worst service I have ever had in my life. The restaurant has a lot of potential but terrible service can ruin the whole experience. Will not be going back

Only go for the view, not a cocktail

Awful service and crappy drinks. Ginger beer in a mule tasted like a cleaner- no one ever checked on us. It was maybe 5:00 and hardly busy so not sure why they couldn’t stel il service. View was nice though
