Clearsky restaurant was a disappointment considering all the hype I read about online. First, I will say the food was delicious, but nothing more than you would expect from a high-quality coffee shop at three times the price. We were seated outside at a table...made from planks of plastic imitation grained wood. It was white and you could see down into the grains of imitation wood that dirt had been ground into the surface of the table. Who knows how many bacteria were living in and amongst the dirt. It could have easily been cleaned with 409, but the dirt was there. I thought they would be bringing a place mat to shield my meal from the obvious dirt, but none came. The silverware was wrapped in a napkin but only consisted of a fork and a knife, which I held until I realized I would need to rip off a corner of my napkin to use as a barrier between the silverware and the table. I ordered iced tea, as did my friend. It came with a straw and no ice. It was cold but doesn’t iced tea come with ice? --- it is in the name after all . The “iced tea" was brought to the table without any question concerning sweeteners. After waiting another five minutes to get the waitresses attention, I ask for a sweetener, which was delivered, but without a spoon. I had to stir the sugar into the tea with a straw. The food came all on one plate. A $35 meal on one plate! When the food came, the server had to ask who ordered what. In a restaurant of this rating, the guest should not be interrupted with any questions. Just look at the order ticket, lazy. This is not first class service. After we informed her who had ordered what, she handed me my plate of food by reaching right in front of my guest with her arm in front of his face. There was room to move behind him, but perhaps that was too inconvenient. My mashed potatoes came dry, without butter or gravy. None was on the table. I finally got the waitress’s attention and ask for gravy or butter for the potatoes . I had to ask a second time for butter and pointed out my potatoes were now cold, but all I got was an excuse that it was the kitchen’s fault. No offer to warm the potatoes. When the gravy finally came it was in a bowl placed on a plate protected by a little doily. My silverware could not be protected from the bacteria on the table, but the plate could be protected from the bowl by a doily. Again, there was no spoon served with the gravy to transfer the gravy onto the food, so I had to use my fork in a haphazard way to accomplish this end. This restaurant must not have any spoons. Another strange curiosity about this restaurant is that the fork I was given was decorated nicely, but the shaft was square and had sharp edges – 4 sharp edges, which made cutting the turkey I ordered with the fork a painful operation. The edges of the fork made indentations into my skin so with every bite I experienced needless pain. This is a very bizarre restaurant if you ask me. I would not recommend it. It was certainly NOT A VALUE and a pain to eat in. If after reading of my impressions, and you still wish to eat at Clearsky, go ahead, be a fool and waste your time and money. There are plenty of quality eateries in the Clearwater area much better than this nut-house. Thank you for reading all this and simply go somewhere else.More
