It’s a lively place in a great location near beach, bay and boating. Service was good as was the food and today we have live music. Nice background and not over whelmed with really loud speakers. Great lay out picnic area type setting with umbrellas...and a large bar with covered patio. Parking is a challenge like the mall at Christmas. If your lucky to snag a spot close by great if not prepare to walk a bit.More

Boat House Tiki Bar and Grill We stayed in Ft Myers near the causeway and searched Yelp for seafood places with outdoor dining and found the Boat House Tiki Bar, a reasonably short drive from where we were. They had us at the photos, and...despite some comments about going for the view and drinks, but not the food or service, we headed off for dinner. Don't let the weaving through residential neighborhoods fool you. It's absolutely worth the trip! You'll finally come upon a waterfront at the Cape Coral Yacht Club with plenty of parking. We approached the hostesses and were seated right away. Within minutes Ashley came to the table and got us glasses of water while we decided on cocktails and appetizers. We started with a Margarita on the Rocks ($7.00), a Rum Runner ($8.00), and a Calamari appetizer ($9.99). The drinks were a good size, well made, and pretty strong. The Calamari was a big portion, with a nice mix of sliced tubes and tentacles – my husband doesn't eat the tentacles, so it was a nice treat for me. They were crunchy, not greasy, and nicely seasoned with a chunky, flavorful Tomato Sauce. But, neither of us recall seeing any Banana Peppers as listed on the menu. My husband ordered the Shrimp and Grits ($12.99) for his entree, and I went with the Boathouse Signature Basket ($19.99). The Shrimp and Grits came with about nine large Shrimp coated with blackening spice on a bowl filled with Creamy Cheese Grits. It was topped with a nice sprinkling of crisp Bacon and several Grilled Asparagus Spears. A really nice dish and well prepared. My entrée was a huge basket filled with nearly a dozen Fried Shrimp. A pile of Fried Grouper pieces, a couple of Conch Fritters, and Curly Fries. AWESOME! Perfectly cooked, nicely seasoned, not over breaded and super fresh seafood. Despite getting a bit busy, Ashley did a fantastic job of checking back on us, keeping drinks refilled, and seeing if we needed anything else. One of the meal's highlights, beyond the incredible views, was the duo playing on the deck. They were EXCELLENT. They weren't too loud, picked a nice mix of songs, and did a great job interacting with guests seated near them. After dinner, we took a walk on the adjoining pier and enjoyed the sunset. Absolutely worth the trip if you're in the Cape Coral area.More

Party of 6 - we were told we could call and put our names in an hour before arrival. This basically meant nothing as we still had to wait over an hour to get a seat when we arrived. Took a walk out on the...pier there and could easily see tons of open seats on the beach portion (where we eventually did get a seat). After what seemed like a decade to get a seat, I was rewarded with one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The cuban sandwich really blew me away. I mean, people in my party were looking at me like I was nuts.... but it really was freakin' fantastic. It's no surprise that this sandwich was featured on some TLC tv show or something. I highly recommend it! You can't beat the views either. If you have patience... make sure to check this place out.More

At 10:32 the waitress came to take out breakfast order. We were told that since it was 10:32 we could not get any breakfast, I said ok, give us the lunch menu we will order from there, we were then told the waitress would not...be allowed to put in our lunch menu until 11 am. Nobody can have any food between 10:30 and 11am. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! What resturant has a 30 minute window where customers are not allowed food? NEVER AGAIN, Although thanks for the good laugh.More

We stopped here for lunch while vacationing in Cape Coral. We were seated on the railing directly facing the gulf coast. It was a beautiful view! We ordered a chicken sandwich and a salad. My salad was soggy and hard to eat. Our server never...checked on us after taking our order and she wasn’t the one who delivered our food either. When she finally came to check on us our plates we nearly cleared and our drinks were empty. I handed her my card and asked to be checked out. Maybe we ordered the wrong food? Maybe they were understaffed? The only reason this place gets a 3 is for the view and my drink was decent. Probably won’t give it a second chance.More

We've been going to Boat House Tiki on a weekly basis ever since it opened and enjoyed that you could just walk in, find a table, sit and enjoy great service. First come, first served always seemed to work well. That has all changed, and...not in a good way. We (a party of 2) visited yesterday and found that now there are signs saying you have to see the hostess for seating. OK, no problem, we went down and the girl told us it was a 20 minute wait. We asked if we could just sit at the railing and she said yes. So we sat on the top deck (because it's non-smoking). While we sat there we noticed there were 3 tables that were empty. So why was there a wait if the tables were empty? The tables remained empty during our whole stay (at least and hour since the service has gone down hill as well). I'm not sure why management changed the seating policy, but it's not being managed well for their patrons or their servers who rely on tips.More

We had family visiting from out of town on June 5 and traveled by boat to The Boathouse in Cape Coral. We were a party of four. There was no one waiting ahead of us to be seated and no employee at the entrance other...than the girl at the t-shirt counter. We approached her, she was very friendly ,and told us to go in and sit anywhere. There were several empty tables and we chose one. A server approached us and asked if the hostess had seated us as they usually give out the menus. We explained that she did not. She said that she would be right back with menus. Then another employee approached our table and told us we would have to leave our table and go see the hostess to be seated. We explained that no one was at the hostess stand and that another employee told us to choose a table. He said that we could not stay at our table per his managers orders. As mentioned, there were several empty tables in the restaurant and no one waiting in line to be seated. Our family has a strong background in the restaurant and hospitality business as owners, managers, and servers and found this treatment of customers appalling. Management should have seen that the hostess station was staffed and if he/she had a message to convey that included uprooting potentially paying customers it should have been conveyed by management and not by wait staff or a bus boy. We will spend our money elsewhere and will not be back.More

Our first night in town, having come in from an early morning flight in a mostly shut down, somewhat cooler state, we wanted to be outside as much as possible! Found this place close to where we were staying and also that it was close...to the pier for sunsets. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, so not too bad. Got a seat on the lower deck, closer to the pier/beach and it was perfect. It gets really windy at times, so we were down from the wind a little bit, which was nice. I had the chicken tacos, which we were really good. My husband had the Cuban which was good too. And our son, who was quit hungry, demolished the Chicken bacon ranch sandwich in about 4 minutes! I can say, for both of our meals, the chicken was really good! Just a nice place to sit and enjoy some music, they had a guy singing all sorts of typical tropical/beach type songs. And you can enjoy the people hanging at the beach still, but it's not crowded with people there. Then take a walk on the pier to catch the full sunset.More
