When you walk through our doors, you feel like you were suddenly transported to Mexico. Our food is fresh made out of the freshest ingredients and encompasses truly authentic dishes brought over from our family recipies in Mexico. The scent alone makes your mouth water. We are right on the water, with direct access to the river so you can come by boat, you can drive or you can walk because we are just two blocks north from the main downtown area strip street of Cape Coral Parkway on Del Prado Blvd. You will leave Monarca's but Monarca's will never leave you and you will keep coming for more!

Under the suggestion of someone who lives in the area e tried this restaurant out. The first thing that jumped to our eyes is that it is pretty expensive. The first round of chips is free, while the second one you have to pay for it (never happened in any mexican restaurant to pay for extra chips). The margaritas are not so bad, but they are not blended (they bring you shaved ice with strawberry sauce poured on it).
The salsa is really good and the chorizo dip is really good too and with a lot of chorizo inside. We had the chicken burrito ( a really generous portion) and a quesadilla michoana ( beef and shrimps) which was generously filled up with shrimps and beef and cheese.
The dehor is really nice and by the river, but the service was not really fast (we had to ask twice for the drinks and we had to go to check out at the till).
On the overall the quality of food is great, but prices are pretty much expensive.

Typical Mexican decor and good atmosphere. Nice outdoor patio overlooking the water. One of the most extensive menus I've come across in a Mexican restaurant and not too pricey. Pitchers of sangria for $24 and same of margaritas from $22 to $30. Service is prompt and friendly. Food overall was decent but not memorable although the complimentary chips and salsa were generous and very good. A restaurant that's likely to appeal to all the family as well as couples and groups.

We visit Monarca’s for the first time in late Jan. 2020. The place was clean and we were greeted by a pleasant young man who seated us. Our waitress then brought us the customary chips and salsa, which were very good, and presented us with our menus. There was a large selection of Mexican dishes as well as a small era selection of American dishes. My husband and I both ordered enchiladas, not our normal favorites, but when our meals came they were delicious. The food was pleasantly presented and was piping hot when it was served. I observed food being served all around us, and it was all beautifully plated, quite a contrast to what we normally find in Mexican restaurants. Very appetizing. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient and gave us just the right amount of attention. We will definitely return when we have the urge for Mexican food and will recommend Monarca’s to our friends as well.

Monarca’s has a wide variety of menu options giving everyone in our group many choices. The chips and salsa were fantastic once we got them, they ran out of salsa during our visit so the first time we saw any chip or salsa was 30 minutes after getting seated in that time we saw our server once and that was her telling us that since we had seven people in our group (4 adults and 3 kids) we would automatically have a 20% gratuity added to the bill. Our food once we finally got to order took forever (an hour after being seated) and our drinks refilled once. Overall poor service and bad night in the kitchen. Finally no where did I see it stated that there would be an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 4 adults and 3 kids so my recommendation to management is to list that on their menu or receipt. Our service was so negative that it ruined any positive spin on the food. I would recommend avoiding Monarca’s and good luck to them.

This is a Mexican restaurant that we have been to several times over the last three years. Sadly I have to say it was also the last time based on our dinner the other night. 1.) Seated inside which we asked for there were still food partials on the seats and the table felt sticky. 2.) waitress was very hard to understand and didn’t seem to be engaged. 3.) Food was terrible compared to previous visits, I had fish Tacos and they had the smallest portion of fish I’ve ever seen. The soft taco was so thin when you picked it up it just fell apart and was mostly shredded lettuce. The shrimp taco was made with cocktail popcorn shrimp not even Floria Gulf Shrimp! My wife’s Normally good fajitas was tasteless and instead of good mix of veggies it had one slice of green pepper and loads of onion? Bizarre. Needless to say the only thing that was decent was the Margaritas.

We decided to sit at the bar for dinner. We were charged an additional amount for ordering “grilled” chicken instead of shredded chicken with the enchiladas. Not noted on the menu. The chicken was dry and sparse. The bartender asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas with my vegetable fajitas (which were good). No tortillas were
provided. When asked about the price discrepancy on the chicken, bartender said she was unaware. She said she provided good service and poured good drinks. ( draft beer and pre made margaritas). Bartender should lose the attitude and learn the menu and pay more attention to customers instead of chit chatting with her co-worker. The first time we were there the service was much better as was the food. Guess we shouldn’t sit at the bar.

My husband ordered Chicken fajitas which they normally come sizzling on an iron skillet but his didn’t come like that it look like it was leftovers or grilled chicken sitting there for a while little dry, he asked for no sour cream on his lettuce but they went ahead and put sour cream on his lettuce he asked for extra cheese and he was charge $2.50 for the extra cheese. I ordered shred it chicken enchiladas very dry the corn shells taste it like they just brought him up with chicken and put that cheese on top. Wasn’t very happy with our dinners and it was quite expensive for the quality of what we got. Chips and salsa was great our server disappeared after she took our order and we had another person deliver our food to the table so we had to ask for our server to come back to get our bill. I don’t think will be going back to it. This isn’t our first time we’ve been there we were very content was the first time we went.

We came here for the first time with friends that have been here a couple of times. The food was very good (when my plate finally arrived- 10 minutes after the other 5 in our group) but it was not hot. Another person in our party ordered a side of guacamole and it didn't come until after her meal was finished. We had to hunt down our server (Yvonne) for a second round of drinks but they didn't arrive until after we were finished with our food. Four of us asked for to go boxes and 15 minutes later when we didn't get them from our server we asked the busgirl and got them right away. Good chips and salsa, nice outdoor area on the canal with shade if needed but very poor service. Hopefully it was just a bad day for the server but they weren't very busy (Tuesday early dinner) so it shouldn't have been a problem. May have to try somewhere else the next time...

Have been here many, many times with nothing but a positive experience. Today, however was a disaster!
Seated promptly, drink orders and food orders taken. It all went downhill from there. Drink orders incomplete. Our server was MIA. Over an hour later I asked if we had any food coming. Sure enough, she,brought our food. Soggy tacos, cold Chile rellenos, congealed refried beans, cold, hard rice asked for the manager, and she ( I believe she was the bartender) asked if we wanted her to have our food re-heated! Yikes! We naturally declined
She did comp our food, but Not our beverages. Lousy lunch
We will be back, but if we are presented with the same server, we will request a different table.

We are local to this restaurant and have taken many people there over the years... I had my husbands 59 th birthday party there last Sept. tonight was terrible!! We ordered simple meals. Shrimp fajitas / beef fajitas and a cheese fundido. 90 minutes after ordering our meal the cheese fundido showed up ( it was SOUP). What really got us upset ( we were a party of 4) is that 3 tables that were sat 30+ minutes after us were served their full meals. We had not received ours. Julio offered us dessert. We hadn't even had dinner. Then he said he wouldn't charge us for the Gauc... thanks for the Avocado! After arriving at 7:30 - leaving at 9:30 we paid our drink bill and went to Culver's with our out of town guests. Nothing else was open. I get that they had a large party but then don't accept other customers. Very very disappointed !! We've visited by boat many times. It'll be a long time before we come back.

Visited here tonight for the first time with the wife. Parking was somewhat limited but we found a spot. We were seated right away and inside looks like your traditional Mexican restaurant. Our server (Karina) was extremely courteous and professional. Chips and salsa were brought right away…..please note that additional chips and salsa are charged at $2 Each. Our food was brought out quickly and was fresh and flavorful. Would visit again and definitely recommend.

After reading many reviews in the Fort Myers m, Cape Coral area ,we decided to try out this Mexican joint based on reviews. Everyone was on working hard. Our server Katarina was cheery, even the food runner guy was hustling! What a great team! The steak fajitas were amazing as was my chicken chimi! they were busy and the place was hopping at 5 o'clock on a Friday. you could tell the locals really enjoyed this place. our service was great, our food came out quick, they even had draft beer specials. check it out you can't go wrong. will be back! Also you MUST try the table side guacamole it was AMAZING ! FANTASTIC JOB !

My husband took me and my daughters here for lunch while vacationing in Cape Coral. We were quickly seated on the patio.
Two sets of guests were seated after us, their orders were taken and drinks were brought out to them all while we waited to even be acknowledged.
My husband asked the waitress if someone was coming to take our order and she said she would check.
A few minutes later, the young man who seated us brought us some chips and salsa. My husband jokingly said "I thought you forgot about us, two tables that arrived after us were being served their apps!" The server did not reply, turned and I overheard him say "oh, ok good".
Sadly, we left. The food looked good but the service was disappointing.

We enjoy the restaurant when we visit in person, even though the service is typically slow... We've ordered delivery through various services multiple times and it's ALWAYS wrong. Tonight i ended up with no meal and watching my husband eat his, we've had wrong meals, missing appetizers, etc. Unfortunately they just don't pay attention and it is not the delivery service issue, as the orders are placed in a bag and tied tight, so they can't even check if the meal is correct. Very disappointing.

Our food came, my order was correct but the other order was wrong. We waited for our waiter to come back (never came). We asked another waitress to find or waiter, she was back asking if our waiter had been at our table we told her no, she asked if we wanted to talk with the manager, we said yes. The manager never did come but our waiter showed up. By then I had some of my chicken fajita,It had little to no flavor. We told him that the order was wrong, he offered to get the right order but by then we were ready to leave. We did not get charged for the wrong order.The waiter was probably new, but the manager not coming to the table, is just bad customer service.
