About
Grills Restaurant and Tiki Bar was established in 1997. Obsession Fishing Charters was started in 1986 out of Port Canaveral Florida, from what is now known as Sunrise Fish, Dive, Surf. The business expanded in 1992 to include a head boat fishing vessel, Ocean Obsession II. In 1994, Dolphins Leap was purchased and renamed Sunrise Marina. Constant improvements to Sunrise have been made since its purchase. Including 140 mph wind proof storage buildings installed in 2005, new floating docks and a 24,000 lb forklift to launch boats. After the acquisition of Sunrise Marina, in 1997 Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar was built on the waters edge of the marina. The restaurant was an immediate success and has continued to be improved and expanded. In the summer of 2010, we open our Grills Riverside in Melbourne, Florida. The location features a beautiful waterfront view, convenient boat and sea plane access. Both restaurants feature the same awesome menu, local musicians and artwork.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Great view of the harbor, service and food. I had a Cuban sandwich which was the best I’d ever eaten. Husband had blackened fish tacos which he loved. We enjoyed Grills so much for lunch that we decided to go back for dinner a few days later. Big mistake! It was a Friday night about 6:30. We heard the band playing as we approached the restaurant in the car. The restaurant was crowded, loud, and had a 1 1/2 hour wait for a table of 2. It appeared to be more of a bar scene at night. I recommend highly for lunch, but can’t for dinner unless you are wanting to party!

We were looking for a late night dinner and discovered Grills: casual restaurant serving Seafood with moderate prices.
Our waitress: Christina was super friendly and provided some recommendations. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops, which were fairly large, snow crab cluster, very affordable at $19.99 and the fish tacos (3).
Because the portions are average (which is totally fine with us), we consumed everything on our plates. One of the side dishes Grills offers is the Tahiti Taters, so GOOD! You gotta try these.
Grills offers LIVE Music outside on their large deck and bar area for a more vibrant dining experience, we preferred a quiet dining experience and dined in the main room. Decor is, of course Beach/Coastal related. Many local Art is provided by Artists which can be purchased. Although, many of the Art pieces where $$$.
The bathrooms offer a Spa like experience with it's coconut salted soap crystals located in a conch shell. Scoop some in your hands, you will not regret. Your hands will be SO smooth and smell good.

Grills is located inside Port Canaveral in one of the out buildings near the Exploration Tower (which is opened only on the weekends). This place came recommended to us by the girl who checked us in at the Hampton Inn we stayed at. We stopped in for lunch and noticed the place was pretty anti-mask as only a handful of people came in with masks on. While this didn't bother me (as it did with most of the reviewers on here), we were treated to some pretty decent beachside fare without the fancy beachside prices! I had the Grills Cheeseburger which was a typical cheeseburger - nothing fancy. My kids had the corndog which was served on a frisbee (nice touch - and the kids can keep the frisbee!), and my wife had a salad (if I recall correctly).
Not a bad place if you're looking to get some grub before you board a cruise ship (once the cruises start running again) or if you're passing through. Would I stop in here again? Absolutely!

This place was recommended to us by our hotel. We were told how fresh the seafood was. We waited 45-60 minutes for a table along with many other people. And then when the food arrived, we wondered why this place is so busy?!
The servers and other staff were very nice, so that was great. I ordered bacon wrapped scallops, billed to be these deep water fresh scallops. When they arrived, it appears they were deep fried! Cooked to death. I have never had scallops in a good restaurant that we’re prepared like this. (What’s the point of freshness if you’re going to fry it to death?). Anyway, it was ok, but I’d never wait that long again for this place for dinner.

AVOID this establishment! This restaurant is very irresponsible of public health. They do not require masks and only one employee was wearing a mask. They state on the outside of the restaurant that they don't require customers to wear masks even though all of the customers had masks on when moving throughout the restaurant, but say nothing about employees. They claim they are following the 6 ft rule but they are NOT, packing tables together, employees without masks not staying a safe distance, never saw an employee clean a table with sanitizer, no soap in the bathrooms, and employees without masks serving food to us. Menus being reused without being sanitized, condiments passed from table to table without even cleaning. Food is great, but not worth the risk. Our server Austin was the only server/employee wearing a mask, he was awesome, very attentive and clearly had respect for his customers unlike everyone else. I would never return to this restaurant because they do not respect their customers.

Four of us went to dinner here and two of us ordered what our server recommended which was the fried snapper with the rock shrimp appetizer. The girls had grilled scallops. The food was terrible, dry and overcooked, seemed as though it was cooked twice. The fish was mealy not flaky, the scallops were dark brown and rubbery. Rock shrimp small halved in the shell was tasty but still overcooked. Was there for dinner before our cruise left the next day. Would not eat here again.

We visited the night before our cruise and were not disappointed. We ordered the smoked fish dip and we all loved it! It was served with a basket of “Captain’s Wafer” crackers and it was just perfect. We also ordered the cheese-bacon fries, which were devoured. Two of our group ordered shrimp Cubanos, which had plenty of shrimp, cheese, and some kind of very tasty sauce. It was served with “Ruffles” style potato chips and a garlic dill spear. Another diner ordered the shark...which he thoroughly enjoyed! It was grilled and on a skewer, and ever so smoky! It came with a choice of two sides. I ordered the coconut shrimp dinner which had 8 large coconut shrimp. I ordered grilled veg, which was mostly zucchini, and wild rice. The rice was just a bit dry, but definitely edible. Our waitress was very nice and helpful as we ordered, and although the place was busy, we were in and out fairly fast. If in the Canaveral area again, I guarantee we would go here for another dinner. Recommend!

We shared an order of buffalo chicken wings and an order of bacon wrapped scallops as appetizers, and then shared an order of four fish tacos. Our server suggested Mahi-Mahi for the tacos - there was a choice of three different types of fish. She didn't steer us wrong, they were fabulous and there was more than enough food for two of us. Great service and reasonable prices!

It was very good food! Some of us had seafood and some had their chicken. The seafood was very fresh and everyone enjoyed it. My only thing was that when we went in there to pick up our take-out order, no one was wearing a mask. The waiting area was full of people and no one, including the staff, was wearing a mask at all.

The wife and kids took me to Grill's for my birthday. A great choice - our server Kaitlin was wonderfully attentive to our food and drinks with service usually only found in much higher priced restaurants. Everything was superb from the apps to the dinner....my blackened Mahi was excellent.
We will certainly be back again.

After successful outing with Sea Leveler Sport Fishing, we took our shark filets to Grills the following day. They cooked our shark both blackened and grilled. They have their own marinade and glaze that made a great meal. Super atmosphere and Mindy was very attentive server.

Loved the atmosphere and the menu had a good selection of items of various prices. We only ordered appetizers and drinks as we weren’t terribly hungry. We ordered bacon wrapped scallops and bacon wrapped shrimp. Both were a little overcooked and a somewhat tough to chew. We will try them again but will order something different next time. It was so crowded, we didn’t even mention it to our server as she was so busy taking care of everyone. The food was edible just a little tough for our liking.

My husband, mother and I had lunch here for the first time. We stared with the calamari and unfortunately that was the least favorite of why we all ordered. It was not fresh, pretty sure it was previously frozen and not cooked well. Thankfully it got better from there. My husband has yellow fin tuna and I had the fish tacos. Both entrees were great! Probably the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. I went with the blackened mahi mahi. My mother had the shrimp scampi and it was just ok. Also, the customer service was mediocre at best. I don’t know if they were short staffed but just kind of felt rushed and not very attentive to their customers. Overall a decent experience but not sure we will make the effort to drive 45 minutes to come back.

Used to love this place but it is not safe anymore. They were not seating people in a way that allows social distancing. The hostess tried to seat us at a table that was right below another table. None of the waiters waitresses bartenders cooks etc. weren’t wearing gloves nor were they wearing masks. Seeing as how there is a highly contagious pandemic going on One would think they would take some precautions. We almost got up and left. The waitress did put on a mask after we asked her to. It took her forever to do so. We will not be returning to a place that used to be my favorite restaurant. Sorry to say that the food is good it’s not worth the risk.

Stopped at Grills after picking up visiting family at the Orlando airport. Great place to visit while in Cape Canaveral Had fish tacos skillfully done and served quickly. Try them along with great atmosphere on the port inlet. Watch departing cruise ships from great vantage points inside or outside at this popular restaurant. We enjoyed it you will too
