From our arrival to departure everything at Sage Bistro was amazing! The staff was very attentive and the food was beyond our expectation. My husband had one of the nightly specials and I had the stuffed chicken. We live in WI and vacation in FL yearly in different parts of the state and we can honestly say this is by far one of our favorite restaurants now in the state of FL!

I am torn writing this review. My husband and I love Sage - we adore the food, the people and the place. But if I write what I really think, will it get too popular and make it hard for us to get a table? On the other hand, Sage deserves a great review. Here are my favorite things about this restaurant: the specials change regularly, the tapas are always amazing, I have a lot of food allergies and Chef Jordan and the kitchen team accommodate me perfectly and without hesitation, the staff at the bar and on the floor treat us as if we are special, dinners are always excellent (the fish special is my fave), I love the Caesar salad, and cheesecake balls are mouth-watering. This is the restaurant to which we bring all of our out of town guests. Thank you Sara, Jordan and team for your kindness and for consistently raising the bar.

We arrived without having called for reservations but were fortunate to get a nice table next to the tree wall mural which coincidentally had been painted by our server Robin. We loved this place. Everything is made from scratch in-house except for the bread. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and ordered several different dishes including the salmon appetizer for us both, lobster pot pie for my wife and I ordered the tenderloin which wasn't available, so I opted to go with the NY strip, if memory serves me well. The lobster dish came with a side salad, while I opted for the chardonnay mushroom soup. The salad was nice and the vinaigrette was very good, but the soup was awesome! The salmon tapas was excellent. The lobster pot pie was a home run, while my steak was a bit of a letdown. We ordered some sparkling water and what I thought was a reasonable price for a high-quality bottle of Cali Cab Sauvignon. Sarah who had originally seated us, came to our table to see how was our meal? She is not only the manager but the owner. Her son is the chef and they together opened this place. We congratulated and wished her all the best. We let her know that we loved her restaurant and that we would be back again.

They are difficult to make reservations, and the food is ok at best despite all the hype by the server. Service was good, and the wine and bread were also. Thai mussels were few, and the only flavor was way too much coconut. The lobster pot pie was said to have fresh lobster; but the little lobster meat in it was not fresh. When mentioned to the server and hostess, they recommended we go to some other establishment (which they named) for fresh lobster. The Cajun pot pie was supposed to have all sorts of seafood and Chorizo. It has some small shrimp, a couple small bay oysters, and an overabundance of Chorizo. Neither of us finished our meals, not because we were full; but it just wasn't that good. We took the leftovers; but threw them away at our hotel . I would order something else, and take the description with a grain of salt. The waitress was likeable, the hostess a little snooty.

Hoping to find a local treasure but was disappointed. I had the lamb which the sauce was very salty and the only recognizable vegetable were onion and carrot . Another guest head the scallops that came in a bowl of oily liquid and had a soft texture not broiled at all. The shrimp pesto had an unappealing presentation and a goopy texture. My other guest ate the shrimp left half of it. Service was slow and salad was served before our appetizer. Dinner entrees took forever to get to us and they were warm not hot even though we we the 1st to be seated for the evening. It was unappealing to see one service person scratching another’s back with her nails and then serving others. Other staff hung around the kitchen service area laughing and talking right over the food to be served. The restaurant could do with a floor manger to polish up the professionalism. I’m sorry to sound negative but we were turned off completely. Not worth the money spent.

We chose Sage to celebrate my 70th birthday. What a mistake. We booked an early reservation as we had plans after dinner. 6:15. We ordered about 30 minutes later and they were completely sold out of their filets - they weren't even busy not sure how that could happen. The biggest mistake is that the staff is not briefed on what is and what is not available. Asking someone to make another choice after the table has already ordered is very unprofessional. I ordered the sirloin and it was a piece of rubbish. They have taken what used to be an elegant dining experience and turned it into just another beachside tourist trap. People were actually wearing flip flops and tee shirts. We won't be back.

My wife and I have been going to Sage for years while on vacation. We often take friends and the food and experience is always great. On our last visit with some new friends, we had a bad experience. One of our friends has a tree nut allergy and informed the waiter when we ordered our appetizers. After two bites of her entre, her lips started to tingle and she was having a reaction. We asked the waiter if there were tree nuts in the meal and he said yes, then realized his mistake. As my friend waited to see how bad the reaction was going to be, our waiter got the owner to our table. We were all stressed and asked him to give us a minute to sort things out. He left and went to the bar to have a drink and eat his dinner. After a few minutes it was clear she didn't eat enough to have a bad reaction. We finished our dinner and kept waiting for our the owner to come back to the table and check in....never happened. When we left we confronted him and he was rude and argumentative. Very disappointing reaction to a serious situation.

My family tried to dine at Sage Bistro tonight and the hostess was not at all accommodating. We had five people and arrived early prior to any rush. There were two tables seated when we arrived. Qe were told we could not be accommodated due to the fact that they had a five top, a twn top, and a six top arriving later in the evening for reservations. The restaurant was literally empty otherbthan the two tables mentioned. The hostess made absolutely no attempt to fit us in. My wife and I worked in restaurants for years and made accommodations for diners nightly by moving tables together, asking if walk-ins would mind squeezing at a smaller table, or sitting folks at the bar. We found the unwillingness to make any attempt to keep our business rude, stuffy, and impolite. Instead, we drove a few minutes down the road and were welcomed with open arms at Preachers where accommodations were made, the staff was not at all condescending like at Sage, and we were made to feel at home, and gladly spent our $150 plus tip. I would highly recommend Preachers and would avoid Sage Bistro.

I am so sorry we could not accommodate your party and equally sorry I didn't adequately explain why. While we are not reservation only, we strongly recommend reservations to guarantee we can serve guests. Believe me, it gives me no pleasure to turn business away. This week especially, due to so many people in town for the Artemis launch, we are booked. While you stopped in prior to our rush, every table was reserved. We cannot take guests without reservations when we have guests coming soon who made reservations. I apologize. Please make a reservation next time so we can serve you.

Last minute booking for our anniversary. Our server, Matt, was amazing, and this was easily one of the best meals we've had in a very long time. Perfectly paced so as to not feel rushed and allow some digestion and conversation between courses. Our appetizers (seared scallops for me and southwest egg rolls for him) were amazing. Scallops perfectly cooked, and egg rolls with lots of zip and flavor (The egg rolls were enough to share). We both opted for fish entrees (red snapper for me and chorizo encrusted sea bass for him), and they were both delicious - these were clearly fresh and not frozen. We forced ourselves to have dessert (the cheesecake bites (Peanut butter cup inspired) were beautiful and the apple crisp had the best vanilla ice cream). By the end of the meal, we were stuffed, and very satisfied. Well worth every penny.

My daughter and I have been coming to SB for the last 4 or 5 years, and each time we encounter wonderful staff and wonderful food. We were privileged this time to be waited on by Janine(sp?), one of the owners. She was so friendly and solicitous, even when we, after a long day, decided to have our entrees as take-out. The food: Delicious mushroom/ chardonnay soup, very, very tasty duck rolls, nice salad, lovely Pinot Noir. Most times take-out main courses lose something in the transition from kitchen to home. Not in this case! The stuffed chicken and lamb pot roast were absolutely delicious!

Came for dinner with my husband and mother and it was wonderful! Or waitress was incredibly friendly and made great suggestions on the menu. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back before our stay is over. If you are looking for a place to eat I would absolutely give this place a try.

Sage Bistro is a delightful step away from the loud sports bar and fish sandwich restaurants which seem to abound in this area. It is quiet and subdued with great candle light ambience. The wait staff is attentive but never overbearing, and the food (from a scratch kitchen) is inventive and very well prepared from the apps to the desserts. The surprise with this fine dining experience is that the prices are very reasonable for the quality. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for a second evening.

This was an amazing experience with lovely service from the hostess to the waitress to bus staff. The food was absolutely delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes were the best I’ve ever enjoyed. My husband’s lamb dish was incredible. I overheard another patron say the lobster pot pie was so good she had to take a photo. Make sure you get a reservation; it is a small restaurant - but not to be missed.

Booked a table at this so called fine dining restaurant. We started with the chicken & rice soup which was good & hot. The Wiener schnitzel was not so good, they were thick and the coating of bread crumbs were not seasoned and they were not beaten out thin as they should have been. Also I think instead of the waitress telling the diners the specials and the desserts at speed, have them written on a separate menu so a proper description and price can be seen and perused. It would have also been nice if the lady who was going around the restaurant had come up to our table, she missed us out and I could have pointed out some of the problems we had with the food. Can I add at this point we are not a bad looking couple and we were also smartly dressed .The thick slices of potato,I cannot recall what they were called, were uncooked and the few accompanying onions should have been fried a lot more to give the potatoes some flavour. We left without any of the staff acknowledging us or saying goodnight and this so so meal cost us $100

The lure to this restaurant was "scratch kitchen," and the "homemade salad of the week." Freshness, nope. The salads were clearly bag salad, wilted greens with wilted carrot shavings, nothing fresh or local about this salad. The homemade salad was offered as an entree with tuna. My son ordered scallops that were dumped from a bag of scallops, nothing fresh. The mushroom risotto was fair, with unidentifiable meat paired with it. The pork chop was also fair. My husband enjoyed his tapas plates, the Wings and the Southern fried fish. Our server was attentive, but pushy. We were offered dessert while eating dinner. The ambiance leaves much to be desired. It felt as if we were in an open cafeteria, with full carpet throughout the restaurant. Not pleased that this was our dining experience to end our trip to Cocoa Beach.
