I haven't and will not eat at Tokyo Peking. I've been alerted via employees that the owners keep all the tips from credit cards and the take-out tip jar. I'm not sure if they also keep tips from tables but, regardless, this is awful AND...it is against Federal law for restaurant owners & managers to do so!More

First visit. Ordered take out. The spring rolls were crispy and good. The shrimp tempura roll was ok. But will not order sushi from here again. Not sure what was going on with the salmon. It was soft, very spongy, mushy and alot of water...came out of it as it was being eaten. We eat a lot of sushi and never encountered anything like this before. We threw it away.More

It appears most of the business here is take out. It was very hectic at the front desk and on a couple of occasions, we heard the employees getting upset. We dined in and ordered Moo Shu Chicken, Crab Rangoon and Sweet and Sour Pork....Although I’m aware of it, it’s the first time I’ve seen Crab Rangoon on the menu as “Imitation Crab Rangoon”. Well, It was definitely imitation. In fact, there was no taste of crab or anything that even resembled a seafood taste. It was more of a scallion flavor. The rest of the order was average. The rangoon and chicken both had a strong burnt flavor. This was our first time here and probably our last. There are plenty of other Chinese restaurants around to try.More

This was my first time at this restaurant. The social distancing didn't come in to play because the place was empty. I found the food just barely average. Didn't taste very fresh but didn't taste bad. Probably wont return for while.

During COVID 19 we have ordered lunch specials 2-3 times a week. Great combinations for under $10 ($6.25-$7.55) . Liked the Mongolian triple( #34) especially. The Chinese vegetables with beef and shrimp ( #24,28) are good. We found the food was hot and as promised...on time for pick up. The fried rice on the side tends to be a bit dry and bland. One of us paid regular price ($8.95) for the Eggplant with garlic sauce and enjoyed it as I had my lunch special. The eggplant was luscious and large slices on top. a nice serving. White rice came with it. ( $8.95) With progression to dining in, we decided to celebrate with ordering at dinner time two entrees. Let's have a larger meal and something we especially crave. I chose MooShu Beef($9.95) which comes with plum sauce and five pancakes. The other order was the egg plant with garlic suace ( not spicy) ( $8.95) . They included anorder of fried ships with sweet dipping sauce. My MooShu was unlike any other rendition of this traditional dish It was mostly shredded onions and roots with small bits of beef there was no union of the components as they had not been cooked together sufficiently It was like a mass of raw onion. on some beef . There was no smoothness or weetness to the components. The pancakes were a falure as they dissolved with minimal ingredient placed in them and left me with a soppy mess. There was a minimum of the brown sauce I have enjoyed in Moo Shiu over the years Not to be served at Tokyo Peking. I will never order this again at this restuarnat it was apoor version of any Chinese food. The eggplant and garlic sauce entree had a stink when the container was opened. The diner stated " it smells like a moldy basement." The eggplant was grey and small broken chunks and not Luscious as in the previous experience. With courage the diner served themselves and ate a forkful . They complained it tasted rancid , bitter and bad. I was on the phone quicjkly. It took much in my Chinese American negotiation to get the message to the first telephone person at the restuarnt that we were given a bad entree. "You no like eggplant" I had to repeatdly state we like eggplant but not this bad entree. WE agreed for me to drive back and get a replacement entree. I [ut down my dinner to drive back. The discussion was swift. "bad food" needed no translation. I returned home with a fresh entree without eggplant. . Sometimes it is hard in an ethinic restaurant when things go bad to get the correct message across in English Here my Mandarin was limited as their English was limited. Another employee did step forward and helped me speak better English but it makes me think twice about trying anything "special" at this restaurant. They made the second entree just fine but my dinner was ruined by the staff sending out a bad meal. My re-heated onion dish was not enhanced by sitting waiting for my return.More

In the barren days of sheltering in place for CLOVID19 , I craved Chinese food. I tried all my familiar haunts and they were closed. I remembered the mailer from this nearby Chinese-Japense restaurant that had sushi,Nigiri, sashimi, teriyaki and Chinese . I craved Chinese....I stopped by this storefront in the Village Square shopping center east of the Publix's near the end f the stores. locked. Call in your order and prepay and they will deliver it outside on a clean table. Since I had not tried this place before I ordered one lunch combination special, risking $6.25. I put it on the credit card as I ordered and waited. AS promised the very hot meal arrived swathed in plastic. The inside plastic container heald a large order of Chicken with mixed vegetables, pork fried rice and an icy cold diet coke. The napkin and plastic fork were nice as also the soy sauce and other sauce. But telling was the two fortune cookies. This order was far more than one person would eat so they realized I might be sharing the meal and our good fortunes. I hurried home with my steaming food. The portions were quite ample for any appetitie. For me it was lunch and another dinner. The vegetables were varied and cooked enough No tough carrots. Zuchini and Broccoli still colorful but cooked. Mushrooms emersed in the light sauce on the white chunks of chicken. The prok froed rice had those tiny snips of red edged pork and was hot and tasty especially with the extra soy sauce. My fortune had run well to find a restaurant open with good fresh cooked food in our shut down Boynton Beach community. Every business that makes it work for takeout should be applauded My spirits lifted with this good food from the Tokyo Peking. My friends have heard online. I will return and dig deeper into the menu. Next might be Moo Shu Beef $9.95 per order) or the lunch combination or Happy Family ( $13) , a Cantonese special. I will go back.More

Chinese retaurants come and go in Florida and I hope Tokyo Peking stays around longer than most because it is by far the best Chinese food I have found in my neighborhood since I moved to Delray Beach two years ago. Its $6.25 lunches are...the best priced meals and take out is not a problem. My favorite is honey garlic chicken. Along with the entre, diners get a choice of pork fried rice or white rice and a can of soda. What the restaurant lacks in ambiance it makes up with large portions and hot food.More

I’ve taken food to-go from Tokyo Peking and have been quite happy with the overall quality and portions. I recently decided to dine in. It was a quiet night (less than half full). I ordered a combination dinner. The soup (egg drop/wonton) was not hot...- aptly described as warm. The egg roll was hot, crispy and tasty. My main dish (Szechuan beef) was served warm as well (I didn’t send it back because I didn’t want the beef to get overcooked). Also, although I don’t like crazy spicy food, I definitely could have used more spice to this dish. Service was spotty. One of our servers was great - friendly, attentive and professional. The other server was clearly not paying attention (ie: asked us if we wanted a box for our food almost immediately after we began eating). There is no real atmosphere to speak of, but it is clean and bright. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. I’ll probably be back to dine in, but if the food isn’t hot, I’ll stick to ordering to-go so I can heat it up to my liking at home.More
