Read the reviews and decided to give Sushi Machi Japanese Restaurant a try. I ordered the Sashimi regular, 3 pieces of 6 different fish, they gave a double of salmon, which was fine. Comes with soup or salad with a very good ginger dressing. Sashimi was fresh and very good but the pieces were small.

Sushi and sashimi were excellent. Portions were ample. While I did not eat in the restaurant the decor there is very nice and the people taking the order were quite friendly.

Not my first choice.

First time at this local restaurant. Very extensive menu with many choices. Maybe overly ambitious. Too many choices...a fault of some restaurants is a large inventory of slow moving items resulting in waste, cash flow, and profitability problems. This has a domino effect. It stresses management bringing on a "strict" menu indicated by the number additional-cost notes on the menu. It also affects customer service, which is not particularly friendly or welcoming here. Add to that the out -of-season summer time without the seasonal residents which causes many eateries to fail in less than 5 years. Better fewer menu items and more time with customers. I would normally order a sashimi dinner. It comes with miso soup and house salad, but I like a little rice with the sashimi. But at $2.50 for sushi rice it adds more than 13% to the cost. That's noticely excessive. The sushi dinners are pricey. Since I wanted to have dinner, I ordered Chirashi (essentially sashimi on a bed of rice...so I subtly paid extra for the rice anyway.) The fish was fresh, but I would have preferred it more below room temperature. The soup was rich with miso but a little too salty. The salad was one of the best I've had. Sushi Machi is convenient, but definitely not one of my favorites.

Delicious Sushi and Tempura!

Made reservations for a Thursday night not knowing what the expectation would be, as it turns out it was an extremely slow evening for them. The reviews did not disappoint, typical Florida Asian joint. In terms of the ambiance altough it mostly looks like a sushi spot. It is important to point out that Asian restaurants in Florida offer a mix of Japanese, Thai, Chinese and sometimes Korean fare all on one menu. The clientele isn’t strong enough for each ethnicity to stand on its own. I personally find this difficult because that means not all dishes taste authentic. With that being said, clearly if you decide on Sushi Machi then of course you should order sushi, rolls, sashimi but I did come with my mother-in-law and she hasn’t really tried sushi but loves Thai food especially pad thai. Honestly, the pad thai could have been better but B+ for trying. Our server eas so sweet gave us extra time when needed! Rainbow Roll – Delicious although I prefer surimi but the Kani was fine Shrimp Tempura roll – amazing with the eel sauce Sashimi Appetizer – Super Fresh, decent size Veggie Tempura Appetizer – Crispy and hot

Soup in a bag!

The 2 miso soup's we ordered (delivery) were spilled out all over the bag! I have ordered from them 1 time before and I think I could get more competent sushi from 7 Eleven!!

Food Poision from Tuna Roll

We had a bad experience at this restaurant- The Tuna Roll was spoiled- got the worst food poisoning and went to the Doctor's. Won't be back.

Crispy fried fish in wonderful sauce

Hot miso soup was brought out immediately after my order was taken. Getting the salad with an extraordinary thick chunky ginger dressing was a little extra as I was given a choice of soup or salad. In cases like that, choose both here. There was a choice to have the whole fish skin, bones, tail, head and eyrs; however, in this case I decided on the fillet. Crispy red snapper which flaked in a wonderful sauce accompanied by steamed white rice. Happy camper.

Underwelmed

Unfortunately the tuna was spoiled. We had a new server and she was not shadowed, so the service was not good and became complicated when the service was slow and we wanted to talk to her or some one about the poor quality. Too bad...

AWFUL everything is microwaved

Ate here with my Nana today, food was not good. Everything is microwaved, I could hear the microwave go off in the background since we were the only ones in the place. Service was also terrible very unfriendly. From the soup to the potatoes to the teriyaki chicken all tasted bad.

This local restaurant can please any sushi lover -

I came alone, and it was an early dinner. The waitress was lovely and did not hover. The wonton soup was hot and delicious. The shrimp tempura came with tempura veggies and nothing was greasy. Ample portion of shrimp, veggies and sauce. Price was right, and I was early enough for the early bird special which ends at 6:00 pm. Next time I will go back with friends to try the various sushi rolls. Yum.

I love sushi, and all styles of Japanese food but I just couldn't love it here. Nothing really stood out from my visit. The restaurant which is in a strip mall plaza is old and tired. While the service was good and everyone friendly the food just was ok. There were several in our party and we all felt the same, nothing that makes us want to visit again.

Girl Friends' Lunch

Came here with two friends to try it.We all had the shrimp hibachi. The miso soup was hot and the salad had a wonderful dressing. The main shrimp meal was fine and it was served with rice. It could have been a tad hotter. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. For $10.00, we had a fine time.

Fresh sushi - beautiful presentation

We visited on a Friday night with the inlaws, who had been eager to try the restaurant but wanted my husband, a true sushi aficionado, along. The sushi is beautifully presented - very fresh fish. I enjoyed the hibachi vegetables, which were served in a sweet ginger sauce. Salad is served with a chunky, sweet ginger dressing - also very good. While it wasn't the best sushi we've ever had for a small neighborhood place it is very, very good and service is excellent. Prices are more than reasonable -- an appetizer, three rolls, plus grilled vegetables and beverages for four was just $60. Well worth a return to try more of the extensive menu offerings.

Nice small neighborhood place

I like that their food is always made fresh, and everything we've ever ordered doesn't change in taste. We love the chicken parm, chicken marsala, of course the pizza.
