Not busy when I came for breakfast. Covid protocols in effect. Tables spread out. Staff wearing masks. Many omelet choices. I went with the Western Omelet. I got potatoes with it. The food was average, nothing to rave about but it was filling. Service could...have been friendlier. Prices reasonable.More

I want to like Flakowitz because the menu options sound good but after two visits the only thing that is good is the complimentary marble cake which is outstanding. On this visit I had eggs and what was supposed to be corn beef hash but...was really just a purée left on the grill until it was black. Service was indifferent.More

We came here for breakfast and everyone loved their meals. The country style French toast was challah bread coated with corn flakes, which made it crunchy and delicious! The cinnamon sugar swirl French toast was also challah bread, but with cinnamon sugar, and that was...also really good. The chocolate chip pancakes were well liked, too. The egg meals were also good! The server was very friendly and personable! We liked breakfast so much that we ordered deli meat for lunch, and we loved that too!!More

Basic food. You can get this average food at any average deli. If you are expecting Triple D fame, skip it. You will be sorely disappointed. And fyi, if you or anyone in your party has nut allergies, skip it. They say it “should” be...fine. I would never return.More

We had breakfast here. Although we arrived early there was a long line and the interactions with staff felt like an assembly line. However, we were provided with a few complimentary squares of marble cake which were delicious and tastier than what we had ordered....I’d try it again, hopefully at a less crowded time. Based upon this visit though I thought it was overrated.More

Not sure what these people are whining about. When I used to work in the area I ate lunch all the time and enjoyed it. Today after almost 5 years as I moved away, I passed through and got a corned beef sandwich chicken soup...and coleslaw. All excellent!More

three of wanted to get a good sandwich with soup and we looked up and found Flakowitz of Boynton Beach. We arrived and the place was crowded but we got a seat quickly. The brought a nice serving of a really nice cake just to...start you off. We all ordered the half a sandwich with chicken soup. The soup was outstanding with a huge kanadle (matza ball) with cut up vegtables with a very nice broth...The sandwiches were really a nice size on fresh rye bread. Bread itself was great, very fresh and crisp crust and warm. Corned beef was really good, not to lean, not to fatty. Brother inlaw had tounge which he said was very good. Wife had brisket which she said was outstanding. We got potato salad and cole slaw, both really good. Service. We had a really good waiter who was very quick with his service and he was polite. Great meal. We then went to the deli, got bialies and two kinds of cream cheese. we also got a Russian chocolate cake which was outstanding. all in all a great stop and a place woth going to for any meal of the day. Kind of a hidden gem.More

I have been to this restaurant a bunch of times, prior to the pandemic, service was always efficient!! This morning, I came in with a friend, the greeter was not interested in doing her job! She paid no attention to the people waiting for a...table, instead seated people who walked up and began chatting with her! Set a very sour beginning to my meal. Jill, our waitress was quick and professional! The Meal was great as usual! The greeter never apologized either!More

Busy when we showed up for breakfast. My wife and I shared an egg white omelet and pastries. Good food. Efficient service. A little noisy.

First you get 2 large pieces of marble cake put on the table. Then the sandwiches we order came out enough for two people. We also went and took out some food for people coming over and the nova lux was the best we ever...tasted. The bakery had a nice selection to choose from. Highly recommend this place.More

Stepping into Flakowitz felt like I was in Long Island, Florida! From the bagels to the salads to the baked goods to the customers to the service staff someone needs to convince me I am indeed in South Florida and not in Suffolk County! During...a recent trip to South Florida we went to Flakowitz twice. On the first visit we picked up a half dozen bagels, chicken salad and Israeli Salad. The bagels were fresh and delicious, while the chicken salad may have been amongst the best we ever had. On the second visit we picked up a few more bagels, more Israeli Salad, more chicken salad, four of the well revered onion pockets, some fresh smoked salmon and a black and white cookie. The onion pockets are legendary and if you do not get there early enough they may be out of them and you may miss your chance to try them. The onion pockets are a large roll with a soft spot in the middle with cooked onions; cut the pocket open and add some chicken salad and wow! The lox is fabulous too on one of their bagels (many varieties available), and what better way to top the meal than with a black and white cookie. The first time we visited it was a sunny 70 degree day but the prior day had seen lows in the low 50s. Upon paying out the cashier commented how nice it was this day but how it was freezing the day before, being a Western New Yorker I could only wish for a January day in the low 50s! Flakowitz is a must when in South Florida; the only thing missing from our visits was Maxwell Jacob Friedman!More

We've been coming here for years and, while the food is very good, it's the same old painful schtick: The restaurant is a great experience with friendly and professional waiters and waitresses. But as for the deli, there's a high probability you'll be treated about...as benevolently as day-old lox (and I'm being polite). Sorry, that's just the way we've exerienced it, and we're ALWAYS nice to everyone at the Flakowitz deli, treating others as we would want to be treated. So, when we purchased our beloved favorite, chopped liver, on Friday evening and drove home to find it was sour and tangy, we were not only disappointed, but filled with dread knowing how we would probably be treated when we returned it less than 48 hours later. Not only was it sour tasting, by the following morning, the plastic lid was bulging like it would explode - irrefutable evidence that something wasn't right. Sure enough, the sourpuss behind the counter did not disappoint. Surly out of the gate, my husband tried to discreetly tell him about the spoiled chopped liver so other customers wouldn't overhear. My husband explained the situation, pointed out the date on the package (it hadn't even reached the sell-by date yet) and asked for an exchange. Instead of empathy or a semblance of remorse for the inconvenience, we got an "it must have been your fault" lecture, with the employee declaring we must not have stored it properly, etc. etc. Let me tell you: this is one of our favorite items. We are aware of chopped liver's delicate nature and transport as if it WERE a liver - we keep a cooler in our car for the very purpose and whisk it right home and it arrives in our refirgerator still cold. He wouldn't hear any of it and grudginly gave us an exchange. The whole thing was just plain unpleasant and unnecessary. For the record, the new chopped liver was in tip-top condion and excactly the Flakowitz chopped liver we know and love, but we did not appreciate how it was handled. Not one bit.More

Met a childhood friend for Breakfast at Flakowitz while I was in town for a short visit. I only wish I had a restaurant like this in my home town of Dana Point in Orange County CA. Walking into the restaurant and seeing the deli...and bakery on the right reminded me of the places I used to go to in my youth on Miami Beach, Florida. Everything looked so good I wish I would have shipped some of those items back home to enjoy at a later date. The menu had everything you could want for a breakfast but I just selected a simple eggs, bacon, home fries and bagel breakfast and some of the complementary coffee cake placed on the table. Everything was good and prepared well. We finished our meal and then went outside for some more kibitzing and coffee. Being an old fart I forgot my light jacket at the outside table and called the restaurant. A very nice lady went out and found it, placed it aside for me to pick up later. All in all Flakowitz is a really good place for breakfast and I can’t wait to return to the area and enjoy a nice sandwich on my return.More

This restaurant is a must for Jewish-style cuisine. The dinner specials are amazing and include matzo ball or beef barley soup, a huge mail course, a beverage and a very large desert such as a slice of cake or fruit pie. the deserts also include...Bobka. We ordered the three meats platter, and a reuben sandwich. The dinners also come with bread so you can make your own sandwich with the three deli meats (or chopped liver) on the platter. The matzo ball soup is a nice bowl with a large matzo ball. The only drawback is that the restaurant generally starts shutting down by 8:30 pm so get there early to fully enjoy your meal.More
