The individual that brought us there was a frequent customer so the service we got was outstanding. The food was amazing and the portions were huge. The Greek seafood salad was outrageously good And could be had as a dinner entrée for two. We also ordered the whole Dorad fish that was so delicious. The atmosphere and ambience was fun but noisy. To be expected in a Greek restaurant. Would definitely go there again to have a fabulous meal. Just know that when you order the Dorad fish, they charge you by the pound so we were a little shocked that it was so expensive. All in all, a great meal.

Taverna Kyma gets better all the time. Their large outdoor covered patio is ideal for cautious dining during the pandemic. But it is so popular that to is important to reserve ahead for parties of four or more. No reservations are permitted for two. But we have found that arriving early for an early dinner/late lunch when Kyma opens at 4 PM is the ideal time for superb service and socially distanced outdoor dining.
The Greek food at Taverna Kyma is as good as you can get this side of Greece. We have traveled extensively in Greece, and love Greek cuisine and culture. Taverna Kyma offers the absolutely best, most authentic Greek food in South Florida, with Greek music always in the background. Opa!
The complementary hummus and pita are excellent. We have tried many of their specialties, and love them all. Recently, we enjoyed the grilled octopus, the spanakopita, and the stuffed vegetables, after our horiatiki salad. Horiatiki is authentic Greek salad, which means no lettuce, but cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, olives, and a stuffed vine leaf thrown in for good measure. One salad is enough for two to share as a side salad.
On a recent visit, Denis was our server. But service is shared by Kyma staff, so lots of people pitch in. The prices are reasonable and moderate. One can have an exceptionally fine and authentically Greek meal for relatively little, but one can also have a big meal with all of the trimmings for a reasonable check. Really good!

We ate outside in the back which was nice. All the food we ordered was very good. However we will not be back since the owner/manager doesn't seem concerned about his staff following the laws concerning the virus. The tables were separated nicely. The people at the closest table left and that table was set up without first sanitizing the table nor the chairs. Our waiter came over with the mask under his chin and we told time 4 times to put the mask on properly. He said the we can't hear him with the mask on. Of course we can. A second waiter was talking to another table also with the mask under his chin. I spoke to the manger/owner and he switched waiters. On the way out we passed the kitchen and one of the two chefs wasn't wearing a mask at all. Besides being against the law we felt that the management is not taking the virus seriously. Unfortunately there are plenty of other restaurants making sure the staff and the customers are protected against the virus.

We're so sorry to hear this. As you can imagine, this has been the most difficult thing restaurants have ever faced. It's all new territory, and regulations have changed enough for us to have to continue to go back to the drawing board. We are not perfect. There is no precedent for this. We've learned from the CDC (prior to masks even being required) that this virus is not foodborne and takeout has been deemed extremely safe. That being said, we are doing our absolute best to train and re-train everyone to not move the mask even for a moment. Imagine working an 8-hour shift and not being able to, or better yet remembering not to, move your mask from your nose for even a moment. It's very, very challenging. We appreciate your honest feedback and will do everything we can to do better. We hope you'll give us another chance.

The food is delicious at this restaurant. However, each time we have been there, we have experienced rude, shameful, and plain disgusting service. The servers are consistently behind in attending guests, practically throw things on the table and openly show their annoyance having to bring you anything but your first drink. I can’t understand why when we are willing to spend a good amount of money to have an enjoyable meal, we end up with borderline aggressive treatment. They also understand what they are doing, and closer to check-drop time, quickly turn the rudeness into a fake sweetness. Last time we went there, we called since it was only an hour and a half before closing and asked if it was still alright to come in, especially since we already knew what we wanted. The hostess said of course. We showed up and the servers fought over who had to take care of us before someone begrudgingly came over to our table. I quickly apologized and told him that we could leave but that the hostess told us that we absolutely could come. His response was that it was ok, but that we needed to think about him having being there since 10 am. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning. We live nearby, and so we wanted to keep trying to support this local restaurant, but each and every single time, we end up leaving completely disappointed in the service. We leave a good 25% tip on $200-300 checks hoping that it will be better next time, but somehow it never is. In short, if you want good Greek food, go elsewhere or order takeout otherwise you will be taken on a rollercoaster of great food, just ok drinks, expensive bills, and servers who are partly charming and mostly impolite and unpleasant.

We are sorry you felt your experience warranted just one-star. This is not common feedback for us and we are genuinely shocked. We, as all restaurants, have been going through challenging times acclimating to the new normal with the pandemic - something we are all navigating for the first time. It's totally uncharted territory and many service challenges have come up that we are consistently working to overcome. For the most part, our community has been very supportive. We certainly hope you'll give us another chance.

Went today for my father’s birthday and had a negative experience that could have been handled much better than what it was by the management. We opted for the family stable dining paying $35 per person. The appetizers started coming out consistently, every 10 minutes or so we had a new plate on the table. After about the first 3 appetizers, there was a long pause while we anxiously awaited the main course. I asked the waiter after waiting maybe 20-25 mins since the last plate had been brought out and was told that it would only be a few more minutes... next thing I know, I see my waiter arguing with the cook about our food (I knew it was our food because he kept pointing to our table). I get up and approach the employee I assumed was the manager based on what I had observed. I ask him if he is the manager and he says yes. I tell him it’s been over 30 mins, we have small kids, my wife is pregnant, etc and he pretty much disregards my concerns and says the food will only be a minute. All in all, something went wrong and nobody wanted to take ownership. It took maybe 40-45 mins to get our main course and by this time, everybody was cranky about it. The waiter finally comes and apologized for the delay and blames it on the cook. The manager never came to apologize nor check on how we were doing. The manager’s name was Dimitri. The waiter said he would comp some desserts in order to make things better. I mentioned it to my wife and she pointed out that dessert was included in our family style meal but at this point I was too upset to keep arguing. May be a great place for a small group, I don’t know. But we were 16 celebrating my dad’s birthday and it was definitely not the best experience. I will not return. Please improve your customer service! It matters

We're so sorry to see this. We were very happy to have your group celebrate with us and can only say that we offer authentic, made to order Greek cuisine and many of the dishes you ordered simply take time. A dinner that large with that many appetizers - when timed correctly for everyone to enjoy hot food - can easily take 45 minutes. We really strived to make your father's dinner memorable and hope you'll give us another chance.

I've been to Kyma dozens of times. This meal was terrible from the start. Ordered 3 appetizers, one hot one came in 20 minutes the 2 salads never came till we asked again 10 minutes later. Had a red snapper as they were out of most fish. When waiter was bringing out he stopped at managers table for him to "inspect" the fish I guess. During covid I don't need anyone looking, breathing over my fish.
When I asked the waiter why he stopped there he shrugged his shoulders. Fish was overcooked by a good 5-1o on grill, and salted past an inch of it's life. Horrible. When they asked after the meal was over we told them and they said sorry can we buy you desert. If I am spending $35.00 on a snapper that costs maybe $8.00 wholesale offering me desert instead is insulting. We were so salted out that we didn't even want desert.

Hi Scott, we're so sorry to see this. First, we prepare 100% authentic, made-to-order Greek cuisine, and some of it simply takes time, especially when properly timing with appetizers, etc. Our snapper is a fan favorite here - as is all of our authentic Greek cuisine. The authentic spices and flavorings are, admittedly strong, and exactly as they should be when prepared these authentic ways. We're so sorry you felt your experience only warranted 1-star, during a pandemic (where restaurants are really struggling), after supporting us for so long. We certainly hope you'll give us another chance

So we have been here numerous times before and service and food was always excellent, until tonight. So we had reservations for 10 at 7pm outside. We got seated at 7:20.The waiter when we got had including us was waiting on 30 people which was too much and the issues that happened,I want to stress were not his fault because he couldn’t wait on tables properly with those numbers .They had one bartender and the place was packed solid. Our drinks took 20 minutes which included 2 bottles of wine and 5 mixed drinks and was dirty martini which came wrong and we sent back.Appetizers came out before our drinks.Never sent Hummus out which comes with your meal, and because we mentioned it came out then at 8:30. Our meals started coming out at 9:00 and one came at 9:25 and everybody else had already eaten. There were 4 different things that didn’t come that were supposed to and told waiter and one thing still didn’t come out.Two tables around us came in 40 minutes after us and were served before us.Once we got our food it was all delicious but there was also 4 main dishes that they were out of.We complained to the waiter about the issues so he talked to Manager and said Manager would give us 3 free desserts. We left there at 10 and were the last ones to leave because of all the issues. So all of our complaints are to Management, there were issues in every aspects of our meal and as I said in the beginning of my words that it wasn’t the waiters fault he was on overload! The bill came to 600 which we are not complaining about the amount ,but you just lost 10 people that won’t be back because of this cluster!

We're so sorry to see this. While we don't recall any major issues with large tables that night, we admittedly were very busy. Navigating the new protocols due to the pandemic (an unprecedented time) while maintaining the same great service has been challenging, and we are working hard to overcome any obstacles. We're so sorry you felt the experience only warranted one-star and hope you'll give us another chance!

Upon our arrival, we were escorted to our table for outdoor dining. Shortly after Athina introduced herself and we were handed a beautifully printed Welcome Notice to the 1st Concierge Dinner At Taverna Kyma. We enjoyed hummus with warm pita while sipping a glass of wine (not a fan of hummus, however I decided to give it a try and was very pleasantly surprised as it was delicious). All of our dining selections were exceptional and perfectly prepared and consisted of Sauteed Calamari, Harvest Salad, Kefalotiri Saganaki, Lavraki (Bronzino) presentation was amazing, Beef Tenderloin Kebobs, followed by the most amazing delectable desserts-Rice Pudding and Baklava. Our dining experience ended with Greek Coffee, which I was told was very strong-I enjoyed every drop and it was delicious. Will I return-absolutely. Delicious Greek Food and outstanding service.

We just got out of Kyma. It was so bad that it felt like we escaped. The first thing we noticed was how sticky and dirty the outdoor tables and floors were. Then, everything from the pita wedges to our mains were heavily over-salted. The service was poor. For example, our 2 soups and one salad each arrived 5 minutes apart. The soups were luke warm. And the little dish of salad dressing arrived long after the salad. Dirty dishes were not cleared for the longest time.
We realize that restaurants are short of employees during this period of COVID. But we have also noticed that some restaurants are dealing with this much better than others. Kyma is the worst we’ve seen.
Bad service, bad food and dirty tables- a trifecta of reasons for never returning. I’d hate to see what the bathrooms look like!

I have spent far more than a decade of my life living and working in the eastern Mediterranean. I own property there. I know some of the languages and cultures. I know the food. The Greeks are particularly good and working with fresh seafood, i particular fish and calamari. In brief I know my Greed food and must say the Taverna Kyma is at the top of my list. Every time I go, I just order meze- Spanakopita, dolma, sardines, grilled calamari, eggplant salads, mussels... the works. Taverna Kyma does an excellent job with each and everything they prepare. I was super impressed. I even like the complimentary humus. In addition, the waiters are great. Our waiter last time was Lebanese. This guy knows his food... and he is also very personable. It is a family run operation and i often see the owners there, working alongside the staff. They are great. THe cooks are fabulous. This is my favorite restaurant in Palm Beach County. You really can't go wrong here.

Let me preface this by saying we have been to Taverna Kyma several times and have always enjoyed our meal. I also hate writing negative reviews and I rarely do.
We were there last night with our children who were visiting from out of town. We sat outdoors and the place was busy, but not terribly, since it was 8 PM.
We ordered appetizers, which were delicious, even though we waited quite a while for them.
We proceeded to order our dinner which consisted of chicken kebobs and shrimp kebabs. This is usually served with rice and Yayiais vegetables.
After waiting for over and hour for our main course, and not once having had the waiter come over to explain the delay or ask if everything was OK, our meal finally arrived. At that point we were about to ask for the check and walk out.
Our kebobs arrived and instead of rice and yayias vegetables, it came with a full plate of boiled potatoes and the shrimp had a slice of grilled pepper. The chicken only had the potatoes, nothing else. When we questioned it, we were told that they had ran out of rice, and I guess vegetables too????
At that point, two dishes of orzo with tomato sauce were basically thrown on the table. Almost, like "shut up and eat".
We asked to speak to the manager and this very arrogant young woman approached the table and her excuse was "well the waiter told you we didn't have any more rice". Well, he didn't, and if he had, we would have chosen something else since none of us wanted potatoes. They were left untouched on our plates.
She then offered to get us dessert, which we declined. She didn't take anything off the bill, and her answer was "this is a restaurant and we run out of things". Really? that's not my problem, and the least you could do is inform your clients that a certain item is not available and give them the choice to choose something else. Poor customer service.
Even though as I said before, we have enjoyed Kyma in the past, I will not be returning. With so many wonderful greek restaurants around, they are certainly not the only game in town.

We're very sorry to see this. We'll immediately be looking into your dinner. We don't have a female manager, though a server may have been helping out. Covid has made it VERY hard to keep our usual items in stock - it's been a nightmare for more than a year. It's true that occasionally we have to sub items. Our general rule of thumb if there are experience issues is to offer complimentary dessert. We really hope you'll give us another chance!

Attended the restaurant with large family group for 7:15 reservation. Took 15-20 minutes to have any person even come over and even serve water. Restaurant was very busy so we made sure to put our order in ASAP. Didn’t get our main courses until at least 2 hours later! Waiter never came by to inform us of delays, told us food was up and ready to be served when it wasn’t. When sardines which were ordered as one person’s main course never arrived, at 9:45 pm we inquired of whereabouts and waiter said, “oh, we are out of sardines.” After we had received bill, waiter brings out chicken that was ordered more than 2 hours earlier with take out container! We ordered some meat selection and specifically said no pork. We were served a pork chop as part of the meat. No apologies, no offer to not charge for chicken or provide any other accommodation. Literally, one of the worst dining experiences I have ever experienced.

We're very sorry to see this. We have never taken two hours to get food to a table. We are regulars at Kyma and have loved both the food and service over the years. We sometimes go for happy hour, which we did again, on Friday evening. This time, things have changed substantially.
First the food was very mediocre. Pita and hummus were served, as usual, however the hummus was watery and not very good. We first ordered calamari. It was like eating rubber bands. Tough, chewy and just not good. The chicken skewer, although was supposed to be char broiled, almost tasted boiled. We had to ask for taziki sauce to add to the taste.
When finished we received the check. They added 3 dollars for hummus and 1 dollar for pita which was never charged before and 3 dollars for the sauce.
Poor food, extra new charges. They have to do better or we will not return.

As fellow Grecian I must say the food was on point. We ordered the mussels, octopus, saganaki, lamb chops & bronzini. The fish was fresh and the meat was cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the complimentary humus.

As noted in other reviews, even if you make a reservation, make sure to arrive a little bit before. That being said, we had no issues getting our four-person table in the location we wanted (we wanted the third patio). The appetizer of hummus and pita was great and we all loved our meals. Our server was lovely and our overall experience was very positive. We will be coming back!
