Wow, blown away with a much better overall guest experience here yesterday. Seems there might have been a review of operations/standards/friendliness or positive change in management. Greeting was improved. Server Miranda was bubbly and had great energy - provided outstanding service along with good recommendations...on menu choices. Food quality at an all time high - super fresh shrimp, great Caesar salad and perfectly cooked filet. And just the right amount of sauce and tenderness on the ribs and chicken combo. Nice to have such a great Sunday meal.More

Well, the restaurant industry is taking a beating and Houston’s seems to be taking it hard. The once lovely patio has disappeared! If you don’t have a reservation, drive on by. A seat at the bar might be your only hope. Our last visit was...much like visits to other local restaurants, there are no servers to service customers! Half the restaurant has empty tables and the host quotes a one-hour wait. It is a sad situation and all patrons need to be aware.More

Houston’s used to be one of my favorite restaurants, until today! I’ve been dying to come to Boca Raton to eat here since they closed in Roosevelt Field. Unfortunately they wouldn’t let my 13 year old son eat there because he was wearing slides! Apparently...there is a dress code for men! Wtf should I have said he identifies as a girl!!!!More

What a great spot. So much to like here. They are very professional in the way they run this place. We were shown to our table by Dana, one of the waiters. We had an excellent booth (there are a lot of booths in the...floorplan), the atmosphere is excellent. Dana stopped by later to make sure we didn't need anything (seems like the wait staff all help each other... I like that). Our waitress was Chelsea... she was awesome... great attitude, personable and professional. The service all around is really excellent. The chow is perfectly prepared, I mean everything is in its place... check out my photos... the kitchen is completely consistent... every dish is plated to exacting standards... great to see and much appreciated. Everyone loved their choices. No wonder this place is always packed. Menu doesn't offer many starters... we shared the Spinach Dip... was great. My Barbequed Ribs were fantastic... and the Baked Potato too, highly recommended. Grilled Chicken Salad, Veggie Burger and Cheeseburger were all loved by my family. A bite of the Key Lime Pie confirmed that this tasted as good as it looked... another winner! Drinks are also very good, loved their Margarita. Frank Family Cab was a nice pick for wine by the glass. This is a bustling spot... very busy and everyone seemed to be having a great time. There is a small terrace for outdoor dining. Needless to say, a good time was had by all. I've been to the Palm Beach Grill in Palm Beach, another Hillstone restaurant, and it had the same feel and excellent chow. Based on these experiences, I'm guessing that you can't go wrong at any of their places. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDMore

We were visiting this area for a basketball tournament. Our team was staying directly across the street at the Wyndham. Our family of 3 attempted to eat at this place on Friday, June 18, 2021. Upon arriving, there were 2 other families waiting for a...table and then 1 other family already sitting at the bar being served. Obviously, upon seeing other families and teammates that we knew at the bar, myself and another parent from one of the families that were waiting for a table, walked to the bar to order and drink while waiting and to say hello. After about 5 minutes, the bartender came over and told us "I will not serve your party". At this time, I was standing up because I obviously was only ordering a drink to wait for our table.I asked him what the issue was and he said that they do not serve parties of more than 4. We were confused as we were not TOGETHER, however, we did know other patrons of the establishment...it's in a tourist area with hotels everywhere so surely other parties, whether local or visiting, have run into people they know. Discussion started with the bartender and then the manager came over, and told us that "parties like yours tend to be too loud if there are more than 4 of you and we are trying to provide a certain ambiance". When I asked her who "yours" and "you" are, she then said "oh, I didn't mean that". The fact that I didn't even have to say it and she knew what I meant means that she said EXACTLY what she meant. I could not sit there and listen anymore because I know my temperament when it comes to these types of situations. We then advised that we weren't together but simply knew each other and she told us that "I can tell you all are all together" Are we the only ones that have ever walked into an establishment and saw someone we knew? I took my black son and my black daughter and we left. Subsequently, the other families also left. There was more conversation to it, but this is the gist of the evening wasted at this place.More

We were celebrating our first time out together since the pandemic started. Also our friend just received news that her cancer was in remission. After having wine and appetizers, the manager told us that we had been there already 45 minutes and we had better...order soon since there was a 90 minute limit on the table. We were there at 5pm with very few diners in the dining room. Our evening was ruined after this. What was supposed to be a happy occasion turned south very quickly. I was aghast that anyone would ever tell diners they had an expiration date to leave especially if they were still ordering. I am also sure since we were all women, that they would have not done this to a table of men Never going back. Anything they make there, I can make and even better without the attitude.More

A little backstory first. I have been a customer of Houston's restaurant for 18+ years. The food is always fresh and well prepared and the wait-staff is always efficient and friendly. I made plans to treat 3 of my friends to a nice dinner. This...was to be my thank-you to them for being such a support to me while I battled bladder cancer. I'm sensitive to restaurants needing to turn their tables since I traveled for a living for 30 years. We planned to meet there at 5pm to miss the busy time. We ordered Cocktails and appetizers and when we hadn't ordered our main course within an hour we were told by the Manager we had to order, that we had used up our allotted time. The Manager "Megan". stared every sentence with "you have to understand.....". Apparently you are allowed 90 minutes and you better be ready to leave. My point here is we were ordering food all of this time. We weren't sitting there drinking water. It was so embarrassing for me and this conflict ruined our dinner. one of my friends wanted to order dessert and said "I'd like to order the brownie. Do you think they'll make me eat it in the parking lot?" I'm sure Houston's will get along fine without me and my friends but we won't be going back.More

We have ordered ribs here many times. This time we received a skimpy portion of 8 ribs instead of the usual twelve and the chicken on our salad was half what it usually is. Called and spoke to the manager who couldn't care less. Said...the ribs go by weight, not number, which is BS because we have never received less before. The ribs, were no larger or meatier than usual. Did not offer a credit, not even sorry that we were not happy about our order. So they lost a loyal customer and we will find a restaurant that cares. We have ordered throughout the pandemic to support them. Now that they are open, they don't give a damn. What goes, around comes around!More

We enjoy Houston’s @ Boca every time. Quality and service is always reliable. Our favorites are Spinach Dip, House Smoked Salmon, the colosal shrimp cocktail, the ribs, the center cut fillet, and the NY Strip. As far as wine, go for the Duckhorn Merlot, excellent...and at a nice price point.More

Houston’s is part of the Hillstone Group. I make a point of going to any of their restaurants when I am traveling, whether for business or personal. The food and the service are always exceptional at every location. The Boca restaurant is no exception. You...cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. My friends and I all have our personal favorites. Mine are the Grilled chicken salad served w peanut sauce (the best peanut sauce ever); cheeseburger and fries (best fries ever); and baby-back ribs. My best friend loves the Thai noodle salad and another friend the Hawaiian Ribeye. If they have the grilled artichokes (seasonal), they are a must have.More

I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewers who talked about not being able to have food served the way they requested. When dining there last week, I learned that my favorite Chicken Salad was no longer available. I decided to try the Macho Salad...(dumb name!), which had similar ingredients. I asked the server what dressing was available since nothing was listed in the description. She responded that it was Champagne Vinaigrette with a hint of jalapeno. I am not a fan of anything spicy (even a "hint"), so I asked if I could please have the Buttermilk Garlic dressing instead. She said that would be fine and I stated that I’d still like the dressing tossed in with the salad, which I prefer as it distributes the dressing nicely, and she confirmed that it would be. Moments later, she returned apologizing, saying that the Buttermilk Garlic dressing could NOT be mixed in with the salad, and could only be served on the side. I was immediately confused. My own dressing preference couldn't be mixed in, and the dressing that wasn't even listed on the menu was the ONLY option of dressing “allowed” to be mixed in? I didn't understand and let her know. She left to “see what she could do.” Moments later, a female who didn’t introduce herself came over and stated that she was there to answer my questions about the menu. I told her I didn't have questions, I simply wanted my choice of dressing tossed in with my choice of salad. She said this was not possible and could not give an explanation as to why. In these days of the restaurant industry declining due to a pandemic, I would think they would be appreciative of customers who DO choose to come out and support their establishment and workers. BUT WAIT – THERE’S MORE! Instead of writing a poor review, I decided to give their corporate customer service a shot at this situation, since I didn’t think they would support this absurd behavior. I was wrong! This was their response: Thank you for reaching out, Vanessa, and we regret your disappointment. While we try to accommodate as many guest requests as possible, we must protect the intended flavor and presentation of certain menu items. The Macho Salad is a house-made signature item and while we politely decline to toss the salad in an alternative dressing, we are happy to serve it on the side. Please know it is never our intention to let our loyal guests down, and your comments were shared for consideration. Thank you again for the courtesy of your feedback, and we will always consider it a pleasure to be of service to you. Kind regards, Jessica Treadway Guest Services To be honest, that is the most pretentious excuse for poor customer service I have ever heard. I will no longer dine at Houston's, as I am an adult and don't need to be "protect[ed from] intended flavor and presentation of certain menu items" by having my choice of dressing and presentation flatly declined. I’m now alerting others of this pretentious "protection" they’re imposing upon diners, as well. LOL – WHAT A JOKE!More
