We love sushi, so it was great to hear of the new Sekushi restaurant in Belleair. Since our first visit we have returned there 5 times now and every time is an amazing experience. My girlfriend and I are very picky when it comes to Sushi and this place delivers big. Absolutely no fishy smell walking in which means "Fresh" in my book, the inside is bright, fresh and clean and there are outside seating areas as well.
Sekushi - Sushi, Dumpling, Noodle also has a full bar with a variety of craft cocktails, wine, beer and sake. We especially like the bartender's "Paper Plane" mixed drink.
We love to sit at the Sushi bar and watch Executive Chef Jacob work his magic. He is very creative and artistic with his dishes. We don't even look at the menu sometimes and just ask him to create something based on our likes. Needless to say it is always great,
Last week we went to a wine pairing event at Sekushi. We took our parents and I was a bit worried at first as her dad is a wine expert and quite a "Foodie" but everyone was extremely happy with the wine, the food and the entire staff. It made for a perfect Tuesday night. We all learned quite a bit about wine, even the "expert" at our table. The winery at the event was one of the oldest vineyards in the world, 3000 years, 27 generations in the making. The wine was perfect and paired just right with the 3 different dishes presented. We ended up buying 6 bottles, 2 each of 3 different wines, that night.. It was a great experience and we will surely do it again in the future.
I would highly recommend Sekushi to anyone looking for a great meal. This is not a quick, cheap, chain store but rather a beautifully well put together dining experience...a top notch restaurant in my book.

Why did we wait so long to stop in? We recently drove past, went home, and back in the car we headed to Sekushi. Yay! What a gem!
We were able to get a seat at the bar, and Robert greeted us immediately. Sake for me and a Jai Lai for my guy. We looked at the menu and decided to graze from the happy hour menu.
3 each of Chicken Yakitori
1 Tuni/Sushi/Sashimi
Spicy Tuna Roll
Chicken Bao Bun
Pork Belly Bao Bun
Japanese Gyoza (fried) Will order steamed next time
Every item was delicious and nicely presented. Nice ambiance, awesome service, and very comfortable.
We met many folks and had lots of fun. Definitely go-to for us now. Oh, my dessert Expresso Martini was divine.
The owner greeted everyone, and the bartender, Robert, ensured everyone had a very nice experience.
Located in a strip mall, so parking was easy.

Irdi is an engaging and helpful server. And he once lived in Brooklyn, like us. We liked all his menu suggestions.
Vegan vegetable dumplings were very special. Can't wait to order this again. My husband and I shared this appetizer. Next time I'm eating the whole portion myself! Chili threads were a new experience for me. Yummy. Gave the dish a little kick but weren't "too" hot.
Sizzling edamame were excellent. A little spicy but not too. Huge portion; my husband and I shared this appetizer but brought a large amount of them home with us.
House salad is delicious and exquisitely served. Art on a plate. I requested the salad dressing on the side and it was a VERY delicious dressing. Have never been served a salad dressing like this in a sushi restaurant. Resembled sauteed onions in an Asian sauce.
Salmon sushi was perfect. High quality, very fresh fish, and the sushi rice was perfect. My only question is why the wasabi looked so green; I hope they're not adding green food coloring. I eat sushi because I want to eat healthy. Would have preferred larger portion of ginger and less wasabi. Wasabi is so strong; no one could have needed that much wasabi for the amount of fish I ordered.
Husband says his martini was perfect.
Can't wait to return to this restaurant!

We made reservations for 2 at 4:00PM on Sunday. We were seated comfortably and attended to immediately. My Wife ordered a cocktail, I ordered water and the Japanese Gyoza [Dumplings] for an appetizer, when the appetizer arrived we placed our meal order. My Wife ordered Kinoko Udon with Shrimp, I ordered Unagi Don, our server repeated our order back to us and it was correct. When the food arrived in bowls, we began to eat when I suddenly realized that I was eating beef not Eel. We called the server to our table and questioned him about the entree that I was served, he immediately without hesitation admitted that it was his mistake, as if he was already aware of the mix up. He took my entree away and said I will get the correct order out right away, well he didn't. He stopped back by our table and said that they are working on my entree, "the Sushi girl is working as fast as she can" I didn't order Sushi! So whose entree was being worked on? My Wife was nearly finished with her entree (of which she was disappointed in as to being way over salted and tasting strongly of beef broth) when the manager stopped by our table to inquire of our satisfaction, I just remained silent and allowed my Wife to express our dissatisfaction, the manager said "sorry" and proceeded to other tables. My Wife finished her entree, still no entree for me, she said I am out of here and left the restaurant to wait for me in our vehicle. I requested the check, they made me wait for the check and then wait to return with my credit card. I was charged for my Wife's drink, her entree, and the appetizer. The final word from the manager again was "sorry", too bad that was the best she could do considering how badly that they dropped the ball. We will never return.

I’ve given this place two tries and will probably never return. The food is great, delicious. But it just drives me nuts when they can’t deliver everyone’s meals at the same time. There were four of us tonight. The first two entrees were served. Ten minutes later the third entree was delivered, Five minutes later the fourth entree was delivered. The first time we came. The last entree wasn’t delivered until everyone else was done. I put it up to being new. Now I am convinced that these folks are clueless when it comes to customer service. I heard someone at the table next to us tell their server that their soup was delicious, but cold. It’s all about execution and this place has a long way to go.

We’ve been before and had good experiences. The prices are high for what you get but it’s very good. Tonight was very disappointing. To begin with, they were very short staffed. Our waitress was working too many tables to give anyone the attention they deserved. Everyone’s cocktails came out at different times. I ordered Miso soup as an appetizer that didn’t come out until I was done with my entree. I sent it back. I ordered an entree salad that was hardly an entree. Small with very few greens. I would have ordered another cocktail but was never asked. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Don’t think I’ll be back.

So glad they opened this second location so I don't have to hunt for and then pay for parking to visit the restaurant. Also don't have to contend with the traffic on Mandalay Avenue.
Friendly staff.
I ordered takeout of tuna and salmon nigiri and it was very FRESH, well packed, with high quality ginger and strong wasabi.
I ordered my takeout by walking into the store, but I noticed today that there's a separate door or window around the corner, on the side street, that said "PICKUP" or "TAKEOUT." Will try that next time.
Full bar.

I have eaten at the newly opened Sekushi At The Plaza twice so far. All my experiences have been excellent. Our servers on both occasions were very attentive as was the manager. Everyone at our table was both impressed with their food taste, temperature and presentation. The Volcano Roll was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We also had Salmon Tiradito, Sizzling Edamame, Wagyu Beef Tataki, Tonkotsu Ramen, Yaki Udon with Lobster & Shrimp, (both came out hot and cooked properly.) Sizzling Fried Rice with Chicken, & Pork Dumplings. Everyone was very happy and will go back. Great addition to our community! Also had Horin Gekkeikan Sake one of the best Sake I have had very smooth. The restaurant is new just opened Dec. 30th please be patient & kind to your servers and all staff. I'm sure they are still working on their momentum. As far as the interior they did a great job with the fresh modern 2022 look and details. Had a great vibe. Lighting was bright showed off the clean fresh look. People with me love the brighter lightening personally I like it just a tad dimmer. All in all it all worked. This will be a regular place I will dine at frequently. Oishii.....

Loved our first happy hour at Sekushi! We tried about eight different things on the menu - all delicious and such a great bar selection. Frank, the owner, is super friendly, welcoming and genuinely thanked us for supporting his restaurant. He’s all over the dining room - running drinks, talking to guests - really adds to the fun ambiance and positive vibe at this cute gem of a sushi place. We definitely will return again soon.

NICEST People own and work there.. I went there last week with my cousin and her daughter who was in town. The owner greeted us when we arrived. The sushi was TOP NOTCH! But the best part of our visit there was unfortunately the worst. While there my cousin got a call that her son passed away. The owner and the waitstaff was so concerned and wonderful to us. He came over when he saw us so upset. Help me get her to them in the car. While I was trying to get the bill paid he kept saying 'don't worry, just take care of your family." I want to say how grateful we were and THANK THEM. If you want to meet some wonderful people and enjoy TOP GRADE SHUSHI, make plans to go there for dinner! *****🌻💜💜🌻
