While visiting the Bar Harbour shopping center this spot was recommended for lunch and cocktails. Everything here exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is bright and the space is well designed and adorned with first rate art. The cocktails were excellent and generously sized and the food, including a spectacular Tres Leches cake, was outstanding. Our server, Marielle, was delightful and because we asked about one of the artworks on display, she introduced us to the manager who graciously provided us with information about the art (which turned out to be by a world class artist). Consider this a food destination, not just a mall eatery.

I had lunch here with a few others because the menu selection had something for everyone. From a cheeseburger to filet mignon steak, shrimp salad, and more. The selection is not so large that you worry you'll get served from the freezer! In fact, they have just what each of us wanted. I had the filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection. I'm not a great fan of skinny fries, I prefer chunky, but that's just me. The spicy mayonaise to dip was a delicious little treat. Calm and clean, airy and spacious, I recommend this place for an easy lunch with family and/or friends.

This was one of our favourite restaurants in the area, so much so that we went back there on our last night. Unfortunately my husband's steak wasn't quite as good the second time but it was still good. The atmosphere is very buzzy both in the bar area and in the restaurantand. It's always busy so you have to book.
One thing to note - when the restaurant text you on the day of your booking to confirm the table you have to acknowledge the text or they let your table go.

I go the hillstone restaurants for a long time however I went this time again to
The ball harbour restaurant I ordered the Louis shrimp salad and the shrimps tasted bleached not good at all !!!! the French fries were little tiny sticks you can’t eat with your fork and taste was awful ... not going to this location anymore ...

A busy Sunday afternoon, the hostess found a table for me after a 20-minute wait. Dining alone as I'm just passing through Miami, I came here based on a previous positive experience with their food, but it was not to be. I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad, which was made of greens I'd normally compost, but I was hungry and ate it anyway. A messy looking salad with hardly a trace of parmesan, there was a whole mess of chicken on it mostly looking like it had been made the day before except one piece was actually partly raw. There was also an unidentifiable something that I wasn't able to chew! Later when I asked for the bill, the overly friendly waitress asked about my meal, and I was honest. The sous chef came over, I showed photos of the raw bit, and the unidentifiable bit, which he also was unable to recognise, and - in fairness - he apologised and took it off the bill. That's fine, but it's not what I came in for, so I am disappointed. I had imagined a relaxed and delicious meal, instead I came away feeling full and frustrated.
I'm not sure I'll go again; perhaps after the reviews start to improve again.

Literally one of the best services at a Florida restaurant ever. VIP treatment with the white table cloths, switching a martini glass half way through a martini to make sure it stays cold, bringing a hot towel to wipe hands after a finger style food.
We’ve been here at least a dozen of times and this place never disappoints. Food is fresh and very high quality
We love it there and recommend this restaurant to our friends

Truly the worst experience period, simply because Houston is just that good. Want to spend an additional 15 on valet come here. At least the food is worth it wrong, most restaurants have a c squad on Sunday this entire place is Houston’s D squad every day!!!

We loved our first dinner at Hillstone so much (grilled artichoke appetizer and French dip sammies) we went back the next night and had tuna tartare appetizer and I had the Thai noodle salad and my husband had the Carolina beef ribs. This meal was equally impressive. Food had so much flavor without going overboard. Everything was fresh, tasty and presentation was excellent. My husband described the atmosphere as Laguna Beach vibe... relaxed, classy and comfortable. Highly recommend!

We had dinner reservations last evening at Hillstone at Bal Harbor. We did early shopping and were hungry. We drove up to the valet service rather than spending time looking for a parking spot in the garage on a busy Saturday.
The ambiance is upscale casual in a modern glass and wood decor on the second floor. I liked the glass elevator overlooking the Bal Harbor mall with the waterfalls and foliage.
We looked at the menu but didn't see very much that appealed to us. It seemed to be more sushi and fish items. Near the bottom of the menu, we saw French Dip Au Jus with fries, and we both ordered it. It was good but not outstanding. Our server was Joseph, and he was friendly and attentive. Our water glasses were not kept full, and we had to ask for water refills. The prices were high but the quality didn't match.
Hillstone is part of the Houston restaurant chain, and some of their food items are similar. We always enjoy Houston's. This was our first time at a Hillstone restaurant. Would we come back? Not sure.

We always eat here when we visit Bal Harbour, and this trip, we actually had multiple meals there! The menu is great, the food is delicious, the service is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is tropical and wonderful. We love the chicken sandwich, the ribs, the filet, and the ribeye steak. All delicious!

This is a perfect spot for lunch while in the Bal Habtoor Shopping Mall. The vegetarian burgers were excellent made with beans and topped with red onions, tomatoes, pickles and lettuce. They must have been two inches tall. The sides of roosted peppers with feta cheese and coleslaw were a nice addition. Ice tea was good too as were the espresso and cappuccinos. Service was friendly, attentive and helpful.

This restaurant chain has high standards, the staff is very well trained, they are all professionals and kind. The same applies to the food which is fresh, flavorful and promptly delivered.
They anticipated to our needs making sure that nothing was lacking during our meal. Unfortunately, the only thing that was missing is that for a very strange reason decaffeinated coffee is not offered.

Exceptionally beautiful restaurant with warm wood everywhere including the lights and the work area for staff, (which could have served as a staging area to enter rather than the way to the bathroom).
Lots of rules: no arriving late (your reservation is automatically cancelled after 15 minutes), no sports wear, no hats, no filming. Not strict about smallish outfits on biggish figures, jeans, or untucked shirts though.
No wine list. Strange for such a stylish place with so many rules. But they do have wines by the glass which are also available by the bottle. (Corporate keeling it simple?) 8 of each colour. our server was lovely, patient and kind. But knew nothing about wine. But I did, so not taking the recommended rosé was okay. The wine by the glass arrived in a dollar store wine glass that most resembled a mug and contained half a bottle of something since it came already poured. Who knows what it was?
The food loves to be eaten with kale apparently which chopped up with cabbage accompanied all the dishes. Which is why we skipped dessert. To be fair, we didn’t ask for the dessert menu, so probably not.
It’s a restaurant that doesn’t know what it is and clearly has achieved that goal. Sushi, sashimi, fries, burgers, sandwiches, salads, ribs, salmon with appalling approach to wine.
3/5 is generous because of the decor. Food and wine rates a 1 star.

I made a reservation for my son’s 24 birthday while I’m on the other side of the continent, they accommodate them last night for a party of 5 , order all their favorite meals such as New York strip - sushi-salads!! As always they are impeccable with their food & service,
We have been going to Hillstone in coral gables for last 25 years since my kids were in strollers. THANK YOU HOUSTON-HILLSTONE for so many memories.
