I'm always unsure about visiting places when alone, especially in an unfamiliar city, but ventured in to the Washington Street Alehouse because it was close to my hotel. I needn't have worried; I was seated in a booth out of the way, but able to see what was going on, and Rory took really good care of me. There was... More

We were looking for a place open for brunch on a Sunday and found a nice surprise. My husband likes lunch and I like breakfast and they had plenty to choose from in both categories. The menu prices were not crazy so we left very happy!

As a road warrior, I expect to be taken care of when looking for a "home away from home". Mike, Tony and the rest of the staff will take good care of you - Tony knows his sports. The tuna sandwich (without the bread) is great, especially if you have them put it on the wedge salad. Good selection of... More

Food was very good but we were mostly impressed with our attentive waitress. Service was terrific even to the fact that she, without asking, brought fresh ice when refilling my iced tea. It's the little things that can set a place apart.

We had great dinner here. Real close to our hotel. Great service and the pretzel and beer soup and crab cakes were good. Not sure why others didn't have good service or food.

Very close to my hotel. Really a bar/restaurant. Ate in bar two nights. Standard fare but tasty. Friendly staff. Excellent selection of craft beers. .

My husband has been wanting to stop here for years. After dropping my friend off at the Philadelphia Airport, we decided to stop in town and give this place a shot. We should have known from the minute we pulled up that noone in the restaurant was a sign.. We should have turned around and went across the street to... More

My coworkers and I were in Wilmington on business. This restaurant was a three minute walk from our hotel. The appetizers, salads and entrees were all very generous, delicious and reasonably priced. The beers on tap were excellent. Burgers were large and juicy. The chicken salad croissant included grapes and walnuts. We enjoyed are experience with both the food and... More

We waited more than 15 minutes to be seated when my husband went to the bar to see if we just seat ourselves. Got a table and a waitress came by and gave us long thin papers that were the menus! Wow! Budget time! Okay, so we aren't impressed at this point. But we really just wanted burgers. She takes... More

My wife and I found ourselves in Downtown Wilmington coming back from a wedding in Pennsylvania. We pulled up TripAdvisor and found the Washington Street Ale House. We were happy to find but they were serving breakfast as well. My wife ordered steak and eggs she was famished and it hit the spot she couldn't speak more highly of her... More
