Chelsea Tavern used to be my local spot, I actually lived in an apartment above it. I miss it very much since leaving Delaware for Virginia. The food was very good, as were the drinks and the servers were all friendly. The crowd was usually nice as well. It's a really good place!

Really a bar that serves cheap grub, and you get what you pay for. One in our party ordered a pizza, and it looked horrible - grocery store frozen might be better. The fish in my fish and chips was okay, the chips a greasy, sorry mess. Beer was cold.

Was in Wilmington DE for a wedding and walked to the Chelsea Tavern for drinks and dinner. They have the most incredible Brussel sprouts app I have ever eaten!! Got an additional order bc they were so good. Pretzel bites with beer cheese was also very very good. Everyone was so pleased with their good and drinks. Great ambiance, excellent... More

I read about the "Dirty Burger" and it reminded me of the Wishing Well scrapple and egg burger that used to be in South Philly so I hopped on the regional rail to go try it....I must first say that out of the over 100 burgers in my restaurant photo collection I've only had possibly 3 places with half decent... I received a gift certificate to this restaurant. It was my first time. The ambiance is extremely beautiful. The atmosphere is amazing. I had the Margherita, Plum Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Fresh Basil Wood Burning Oven Pizza for $11. I am very happy to have had this experience!

This place could be fun if they added more mood, better lighting, more creative dishes. Even valet parking might bring more people after dark. The beer selection is great. The food is not bad, but everybody had ordered something different yet all the fries were the same, a jambalaya of sweet and Idaho with onions. Not everybody likes all three... More

My husband and I ate here and were not pleased. I had the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich and the chicken was dry and chewy. The chicken was barely covered in buffalo sauce and tasted as if it was cooked the previous day and reheated. My husband had honey Chipotle wings and calamari. They were chewy and tasted reheated as well.... More

We stayed a block away at the double tree and walked here. The tavern style ambience was okay, the waiter Bruce was super cool, and the food had its highs and lows. I have to rate 3 stars because my $26 filet was cooked well done ( ordered medium) but the trio fries, the Demi glaze, and the lime sour... More

The Chelsea is popular with patrons who are going to the Grand Opera House, as it us directly across the street from the Grand. That being said, it is always crowded the night of a show. Reservations are a must, if you are seeing a show later. If you are a vegetarian such a s myself, prepare to be disappointed.... More
