After living in the area since 05, and never eating here, we decided to try it for New Year's eve. What a pleasant surprise. While the interior is not a typical steak house/clubby atmosphere, it was stylish in it's own way (it IS called 1776)....Wife had: Roasted cedar plank salmon, Me: Pan seared rock fish with lump crab. Both portions were perfectly cooked and they were generous. Deserts are decadent (forget your diet for a night). Our server was knowledgeable and attentive (Alex has been there for 7+ yrs). The owner personally visits with each table to make all diners feel welcomed. We will be back soon.More

We arrived for our 7:00 reservations on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. It seemed to be lots of regulars which was a good sign. When I made our reservations online, I mentioned my husband’s mobility issues. Carrie met as at the door...with a chair so he could sit until our table was cleared. I immediately recognized the staff pays attention to your reservation requests. It was so appreciated and made our evening more enjoyable. Theresa was our server and made us feel as though we were her only guests and she went above and beyond to make our dining experience pleasurable. We started with the scallop coins that came with a horseradish sauce which was delicious. I had the 6 ounce Filet with Bleu cheese/Demi glaze as an add on. My husband had the King cut of prime rib which he raved about. Portions were generous. We took our time and at no time felt rushed. Our meal left us both uncomfortably full and I jokingly told Theresa I wish they had a box of caramels, that one single sweet bite would be enough of a dessert. Theresa apparently canvassed the restaurant and other staff to see if she could find that sweet treat for me. The food and atmosphere were wonderful, but Carrie and Theresa made our evening!More

This is a wonderful space with an engaged and friendly owner. It is very romantic and has a great bar (There is even a subtle tv for watching sports). Appetizers are wonderful and the wine list is reasonable and on point. Service is friendly and...very efficient. Problem is the steak. If you are a steak place, it should be a “wow” factor. We have been here twice and even the medium rare meat was dry and over salted both times. In any big city, this would not be a fan favorite. I’m sorry, I want to love this place but I have to believe it is for a one shot tourist visit as opposed to Locals. The bar before hitting the movies next door? Absolutely! Appetizers at the bar? Absolutely!. A big steak night out? MEH…More

We arrived earlier and the restaurant was in full swing. Seated straight to our table. Service was attentive, as always; we ordered starters (oysters for me). Delicious. The three of us had all ordered steaks (2 x 1776 Steaks & a Filet Mignon). The '76s...were brilliant; unfortunately the 10oz Filet was too over done for our guests liking. The manager had absolutely no problem in sending it back for another to come out. He apologized profusely; the second one came out perfect. Birthday dessert was on the House and greatly appreciated by the Birthday Girl. Thanks guys :)More

We have been driving past this past located on a strip mall for years and finally decided to try it and were definitely happy we did! When we arrived on a Tuesday night (off season), we were surprised to see the place packed. The noise...level was a bit off putting at first. Once we were seated the noise level wasn’t that big an issue, and as people left it was much easier to carry on conversation. The detail to the quality to the food was superb— the warm bread arrived with an herbed butter just the right temperature . Our server was also excellent and checked on us on a regular basis and accommodated the change of the salad dressing on the wedge salad with no problem . Both the steak entrees filet mignon and barrel Delmonico were absolutely delicious. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes and baked potato sides. We’re definitely coming back!More

I will start by saying the only reason I am rating this a 2 out of 5 is because of the excellent service provided by Jodi. She was very attentive while juggling several tables and we were very pleased with her. Purely based on our...food I would have rated this a 1 out of 5. We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to go to a restaurant that was according to many, the place to go for a great steak.Definitely not last night. First we started with the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail with Crabmeat ($25). The 5 shrimp were not so “jumbo” and the crabmeat was swimming in cocktail sauce, making it difficult to actually enjoy the flavor of the crab. For our entrees we ordered a 12oz NY Strip ($43). We requested it to be prepared “medium” but received a rather tough NY strip that was medium-well. We also ordered the Filet Mignon Trio ($43) to be prepared medium-rare. Unfortunately, this was medium at best. One of the filets with the mushroom sauce was extremely salty. Speaking of salty, the mashed potatoes that accompanied the filet was very salty and not eatable. Based on this experience we were afraid to attempt any desserts. In summary, we have had better meals for much less money elsewhere. If you go expecting quality, you will be disappointed.More

Have been here before and it was excellent however this time it was very disappointing our server was great, appetizers good and drinks good but the entree my husband got Prime rib Queen cut was 1/3 fat and tough to cut he ordered it med...rare. My dinner the trio was good but the veggies in both dinners were not steamed long enough almost raw. Potatoes were good. Also the acoustics are not good very loud. I must acknowledge that the manager did feel bad about the fat and did comp a dessert for my husband. Overall I don’t think we will hurry back if we do not ordering the Prime RibMore

4.5 If I could. My wife and I enjoyed a very nice dinner that included Delmonico Steak and Lobster tail. Both meals were great along with the Pinot Noir that we enjoyed with it. Our waitress Katherine was on it all night, kudos to her....Suggest making a reservation as this place gets busy.More

The 1776 Steakhouse is very busy, but we were accommodated and had excellent service. The Steaks were done perfectly and delicious, but what was exceptional was the scallop chips as an appetizer. This is a great place to enjoy with family/friends. The only recommendation would...be to clearly explain reservation rules to customers calling and looking online, it was confusing, but didn't detract from the dining experience!More

We arrived on a Tuesday evening at 7-30pm to find a packed out restaurant, our first thoughts were, this is far to busy and second it must be good. After a short wait, we were seated at a comfortable table in the bar/hard floor area,...it was perfect for us, just a few tables and few people. Both of us chose the 14oz Ribeye cooked Pittsburgh temperature, it came out perfect, as did the baked potato and veg, to round it off the Cabernet by the glass was very drinkable and a good pour. Overall very impressed with everything about this restaurant, great service, great food/drink at a fair price. Will certainly returnMore

My wife and I dined at the 1776 Steakhouse on our first night in Rehoboth. The restaurant is located in a strip mall on the Coastal Highway. The steakhouse has a full bar, separate bar area, a good wine list and offers live music on...some evenings. We had a very nice and helpful waitress who brought us a tray of steaks explaining each cut and variety. There is also a large variety of non steak entrees available. We began with oysters rockefeller and a wedge salad for appetizers. The oysters were nicely done and the wedge was split before serving on two plates which made sharing easier. The salad was fresh, the dressing creamy and full of blue cheese. For entrees my wife chose the barrel ribeye and I the 1776 steak. The barrel was cooked perfectly and very tender. The 1776 steak is a filet with crab meat and a light cream sauce. The filet was fork tender. Both were some of the best steaks either of us have eaten. The 1776 Steakhouse is an excellent restaurant with a great staff. Definitely give themn a try.More

We sat at another nearby restaurant and wound up walking out because it was taking forever to get served. We decided to go here not realizing how busy the area was. When we got to the door, there was a sign saying reservations only and,...disappointed, we started walking away. A man came out of the restaurant and told us we could eat in the bar area if that was ok. We were starving and agreed. The place was packed and the man introduced us to the bartender Matt. Matt had the entire bar and tables in the bar area and he was amazing. My fiancé had the surf and turf (filet mignon, lobster tail asparagus and baked sweet potato) and I had a filet mignon with asparagus and baked potato. The food was amazing!!!!! We did not want for anything and Matt was on the money the whole time. This was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone!!!!More
