We had a great late lunch here. The oysters were delicious. They could not have gotten any fresher. Plus they were cleaned and shucked perfectly. My husband had the crab cake sandwich with a side of baked mac and cheese which was to die for!...I had the fish and chips which was very good and not greasy at all. I highly recommend this restaurant.More

Best damned clams casino ever. Omg. Had lunch and went back that evening and had a great dinner too. And yes, ordered the clams casino again.

The food and service here were top notch. We went early based on advice from our hotel and were able to get a table outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. We started with the oysters and they did not disappoint. Each oyster was delicious and...different. We appreciated the great description provided of the flight of oysters. I got the swordfish and my husband the rockfish and both dishes were scrumptious and well-prepared. We were glad we did our research and chose this place over some of the more touristy places to celebrate our anniversary. We would definitely return!More

Fantastic food and constantly changing menu have been the hallmark of our 4 visits in the last month. The lobster reuben is a table favorite, and the oysters are always profuse in variety. Fried selections are light and never greasy.

With COVID restrictions kinda lifted, I was eager to get my food on. The menu is heavy on seafood naturally but the thought put into menu items was new and innovative and in my taste buds DELICIOUS!

We had to wait over an hour for an inside table on Wed 2 Sept. We were not seated until after 7:30 PM. Food was very good, Crab cakes were delicious. I had shrimp por boy which was huge and filled with seven or eight...large shrimp. We were seated in the bar area and service was very good. Would go back again when in Rehoboth.More

Great food but service was very rushed. We ordered the oyster sampler which had about 24 oysters on it and were delicious. Unfortunately, they don’t know how to time their meals because 5 minutes later our main courses came out. I guess they think 5...minutes to eat 12 oysters a piece is reasonable. So there sat our main courses on our table getting cold while we rushed to finish the oysters. Not the service I would expect when you’re spending $40 just on the appetizer.More

This is the kind of place that you want to keep to yourself ! I asked my locals for a place off the beaten ‘tourist traps’ of Rehoboth for good oysters! Let me say..Henlopen didn’t disappoint!! The staff are super friendly and helpful (during COVID)...staff practiced social distancing guidelines so I appreciated that very much! One we got the low down on the Oysters..we decided to have (2) of each sampler..Let me tell you that was the BEST DECISION! OMG..what foody heaven was I experiencing with an establishment that makes their own horseradish and serve their food with pride! Our Oyster shuckers..Bennie and Paul (Jasper)..gave us an education on the different regions of Oysters and the differing tastes...Just Awesome! I also had a King Crab salad...Delicious is an understatement of what I experienced! Henlopen should be featured if it hasn’t been already on the food network..Legit Oyster House!More

Being in the Seafood business for 25 years and my love for real good oysters brought me to the Henlopen City Oyster House. With them not taking reservations we went early at 5:00 to get a table for 7. John, our waiter was just the...best and I would ask for him again. They have very good mixed drinks and a good beer selection. Back to the oysters. They have a good selection and I ordered 6 of two different kinds. I was very impressed with the size of the oysters and how they were shucked. The oysters were full not cut and no shell parts. I had the Soft Shells with Mac & Cheese and Bay Water Heirloom Tomatoes. All I can say is Wow Wow Wow. Great food and service. hells with Mac & cheese and Bay Water Heirloom Tomatoes.More

They don’t take reservations but we arrived early and got a really nice table. The service was good but the waiter kept coming back to check up on us but did so too often. Started with a bottle of Pinot Noir. Excellent and not over...priced Then to the appetizer. Caprese salad. Horrible. The mozzarella was dry and tasted more like goat cheese. The tomato’s has no taste. For the main course, I had soft shell crabs. These were the largest soft shell crabs I have ever had. Very tasty but a little too much batter. I prefer my crabs pan fried vs. deep fried. Still good. Didn’t stay for dessert. Overall, I would probably go back.More

Hope I’m not too late... maybe if you go early, but it’s a nice spot and tables are close together. I’d skip it with my kids and use it for a date night.
