French onion soup was great. Chicken sandwich was really small, see photo. Didn’t even fill up bread. Waitress was really slow and couldn’t get drinks when needed them. Don’t think I will be going back.

Be sure to take time to tour the restaurant. On the second floor, used mostly for private parties, there is access to the balcony, and drawings showing the changes made to the hotel/restaurant over the years. I was there for lunch with a friend. I...had the beef stew, which was good but very salty. The rolls were very good. My friend had a chicken parm sandwich that he said was very good. It was a little pricy, but the atmosphere made up for it.More

Service was very good. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. Our food was just okay. It is a pub style restaurant. Old wood, dark, smells like stale beer. I had the New England Clam Chowder. It was watery and a bit spicy. Not your...typical creamy chowder. I also had the steak sandwich dip. It was very tasty, not very big though. My husband had the beef stew. He said it tasted good, not great. This restaurant is average. I think it would be worth coming back to try some different menu items, They prices were great and so was the service.More

We went on a Tuesday evening and sat at the bar. Ordered clam chowder, Philly cheese dip, and chili. All were pretty bland. The nostalgia of the place was nice.More

We just had a wonderful brunch/lunch at the Deer Park Tavern. All twelve of us loved our food selections. The Preschoolers had pancakes and bacon. The rest of us had either brunch food, burgers or crab cake sandwiches. To top it all off, we had...a fantastic waiter. Andre, handled my husband’s joking around with humor and grace. We will be back!More

I ordered delivery after arriving late to my hotel. The food arrived quickly but there were no condiments to go with my burger and fries and the burger was a bit dry.

Bland no flavor in broth, a few chunks of onion, plain white bread in soup, gooey cheese with new taste. Would have expected more from a long standing Main St Newark Delaware restaurant at UD.

Oh no! That is one of our staples, a people pleaser for sure! Someone must have made a mistake with the recipe since normally it is packed with flavor! I will check with the kitchen to make sure it is being made correctly!

We went here to celebrate 2 friends birthdays. One couple ordered the appetizer pretzel which was covered in gobs of cheese. It was too much. Same with the French Onion soup....you had to peel the cheese off to find the soup which was okay, but...way too much cheese. I had the fish tacos and the fish was dried out and so was the rice on the side. It was listed as a favorite but not mine. I also had the Chicken Tortillas soup and that was good. My beer was good! Not my speed when looking for a good dinner. More of a drinking bar.More

We are disappointed to hear that the food didn’t quite hit the spot! We aim for nothing but the very best, with our food and we hope that you will give us the opportunity to make it up and look forward to seeing you again...More

Deer Park is a great bar to party in, they have several bars, a small dance floor upstairs and a small stage. They do charge a cover upstairs if there's a band or DJ playing. They have a great deck upstairs and outside seating on...the first level porch too. Atmosphere is loud and is like a sports bar/local pub. Beware, there are lots of college kids during the school year. I basically stay away at night when the young ones are in town, but in the summer it's a great place for locals to hang and drink. I generally only go for lunch and the food is always good, pricing is fair and the staff is pretty friendly. The have a great deck up stairs and seating on the first level porch too.More

Our favorite haunt from 35 years ago when we went to UD, so we went back for brunch during a reunion. The mains (an omelette and a frittata) were really tasty but I'm slightly embarrassed to say that the tater tots were the highlight! So...crispy and just the right amount of salty fried goodness! Our only disappointment was that the bathroom was perfectly mundane--clean and nondescript rather than smothered in creative graffiti as it was in the '80s. A more significant issue was that our waitress seemed a little put out when we refused the (still unwrapped) straws for our water. She left them on the table and when I asked her to put them in her apron pocket as other wait staff had done (the perfect way to offer a straw to those who want them and not to those who don't) she made a point of saying "No, I'll put them back". I'm just trying to raise awareness, one straw at a time...More
