We chose this restaurant whilst on a visit to our daughter who who is a the University old Delaware, this restaurant came up many times on the parents forums I am a part of. Visited on a wet Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was busy. I...was surprised to have drinks in plastic cups….We ordered sticky buns as an appetiser but they were sold out so switched to chicken tenders which were just ok nothing special. My disappointment came with the chicken and waffles, it was so over cooked and dry I had to drown it in maple syrup and hot sauce. I only ate one, my daughter was underwhelmed with the chicken Ceasar salad, there was a flavour she wasn’t expecting at all and couldn’t really identify it . Service was good cannot fault that. All in all distinctly the low side of average for us and wouldn’t return.More

Multiple visits here are all very good. They are very good with celiac issues. Staff is very helpful and quick to find answers for you. They have several flatbreads all made with gluten free cauliflower crust. We tried the Margherita and loved it. My wife's...favorite dinner is the Salmon (GF). Last night we had a gluten free chocolate cake/brownie that was excellent. It is on Main St of a university town so don't expect a very quiet place.More

Amazing nachos, but away from that appetizers I found Kate to be forgettable. The main reason for my dislike of Kate was the attitude of the back Bartender on a Saturday afternoon when we stopped for a late lunch. We tried to order drinks at...the bar while we had to wait for thr table to be cleaned. For what ever reason the Bartender at thr back of the bar, 50ish blonde, decided not to serve us. She skipped over us twice, knowingly. Unlike the college age girls she was favoring I tip much better and post reviews. Too many other restaurants within a hundred yards of Klondike Kate to visit when I return in a month for dorm move out day & going forward the next three years.More

We went to visit UD and asked an Alum where to go for a college town feel. The answer was emphatically Kate's! We loved the Main Street, small town atmosphere, the service was great, the outdoor seating was beautiful and the fooooood.... OMG, those Nachos......Was fabulous. Hoping my daughter gets into UD and we will be back for sure.More

Average food with bad service. I ordered the avocado toast. The description was off. The amount of avocado was very small and sliced. Not smashed. Service was awful. Waitstaff was nice but disappeared for long periods of time. My water sat empty the entire meal.

Delicious, unique food choices. We chose sandwiches: the Cali chicken, BBQ Beef with Mac n Cheese and Chicken Pesto. Flavorful and served on soft but crispy ciabatta rolls and your choice of sides. Onion rings and sweet potato fries were great! Drink choices all sounded...great. We had a Spritzer, Rum Bucket and a tap beer. Would love to go back to try the huge nachos! Fun, local place with great service!More

Service was poor. Server was miserable and unapologetic when my crush didn’t taste like much of anything. My meal was all one texture-soft. Potatoes soft and the English muffin soggy.

I have eaten here many times since the 79’s, The food is usually good. However, tonight I was a little disappointed. School is out for summer and so must be the chef. I had crab bisque to start and it was only fair. I ordered...the crab cake sandwich which was broiled and had no filler. However, it was a little bland. Old Bay would have added some flavor. The waitstaff is usually comprised of students and my waitress must have been fairly new. I never got a much needed refill for my drink and it took a long time to get the bill. In the past, the food has been more flavorful. The specials are usually good and so are the desserts. The beer soup is very good. In general a good place to grab a bite and a brew, for students old and new. A well-established mainstay on Main Street.More

We usually go to Iron Hill but thought it would be nice to try Kate’s. Dry, completely overcooked hamburgers on stale rolls, inattentive service. Next time will stick with a sure thing.

My meals are always perfectly prepared and served - and they make sure everything is great! Everyone is well-trained and professional, yet personable, courteous and friendly. The menu has something for everyone, even gluten free options, and there ks a wide variety of beer and...cocktails, which are always served with a smile! Through all the Main Street road work, they have persevered and maintained a high standard, friendly disposition, and shown a real esprit de corps! Lately they added cauliflower-crust flatbread that is served on a slab of wood - it is really wonderful and a must-have! Also, the new steak sandwich with horseradish aioli sauce is an actual steak - the arugula makes it! Great job guys and gals!More

Klondike Kate's has been around for ever. I first visited KK's when I was a college student, and I finally returned as a family man and father of two boys. We came because they offer a kids eat free deal on Wednesday night, which included...free face painting and balloon animals. There are about 6 options for kids (free meal with the purchase of an adult meal). It comes with a junior entree, side, and drink. My wife ordered a salmon salad. I ordered a small plate of loaded nachos that included chopped up chicken fingers, fries, and a load of other ingredients. I should not have ordered this, as it's more for sharing and I couldn't finish half of it. Rather, my recollection of KK's from my younger days included tasty jumbo buffalo wings. I should have gone this route, but there's always next Wednesday. Our check for a family of four ended up being $34. Not bad. They also brought out drinks in a nice KK's plastic tumbler. I wanted to take it home with me, so I asked the server if it was okay to do so (my wife insisted that I ask). The server said sure and went into the kitchen to get me a new one. She came back with 4.More

Parking behind restaurant there maybe a small parking fee, or go down the street to strip stores, plenty of parking there, and it is free. Great place to hangout with your friends, kids, and the food is good too!
