Quaint "period" Colonial pub. Our server was very nice and the roast turkey breast in my sandwich was so tender and good! It's a rather small space so I would recommend strollers.

I had a 7:30pm reservation and arrived a few minutes early. The hostess said our table was still occupied and would take a few minutes. Another couple came in a few minutes after us, and were told the same thing. We waited 15 minutes past our reservation time, and told the hostess that we are on a schedule and could... More

First the Swedes, then the Dutch, followed by the English. Subsequently, the people of Delaware were the first to ratify the American Constitution, and now we are in America. The autochthonous residents of New Castle, Delaware are not mentioned in this review. Their presence is best rendered by scholars with a deeper understanding of their existence than that of this... We had dinner at Jessop's and the food was excellent. I had their thanksgiving dinner, turkey with all the trimmings (very good), my son had their chicken dish - he liked it very much and my husband had the shephard's pie, it was the biggest plate of food I've every seen. (He loved it also). They have a beer bible... More

This was my first visit, my husband had been there before and thought I'd enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised. The menu has a different selection than a regular restaurant has in that you can get homemade items such as pot pies like Shepard's pie, pork, but the regular faire as hamburger. As I have many food issues I found... More

We frequent Jessop's Tavern several times a year since we live within a 20 minute drive of historic old New Castle, Delaware. Since most of the buildings in this area are on the historic register and are very old, space is at a premium, but this adds to the overall charm of Jessop's Tavern and is part of the historic... With British ambiance, the restaurant offered various American foods including diverse types of beers. It appears small from the outside, but there was another big space for around 20 people behind the bar area. Good place to feel the difference in the heart of historic New Castle.

This tavern and restaurant in New Castle has a wonderful beer selection with attention to Belgian beers on draft and great food. All staff I've had have been professional and attentive. Gem of a place in an old historic neighborhood.

I visited this restaurant with a group of friends. We came for their ice cream and decided to have a couple drinks. My friends had been there before and raved about the food and ice cream, so we all ordered ice cream. My husband took a bite and realized there was an extremely long hair in his. He was grossed...
