The first time I was here I couldn't eat my lunch, but my husband really wanted to try it and back I went. The problem this time was a combination of service and what seemed to be a struggling kitchen. It was less than half full when we arrived a little after 1:00pm on a Saturday for lunch. We placed... First time visit to Nora Lee's Cafe with a co-worker. I must say it was a great first impression from the service to the decor and of course the amazing food. We had the sautéed perogies , Blackened chicken salad and the Bourbon shrimp with a cream sauce over penne pasta. Wow is all I have to say. The food... More

I've been here several times, and I've never had a bad experience. Excellent food and outstanding service. Jasmine (in the bar) is delightful!

We went to new castle because of another place we were told about. We stumbled on this awesome quaint French Quarters restaurant. We tried the hot crab and artichoke dip for app and it was great. The cup of chicken gumbo was perfect with the seasoning and spice. The entree was the seafood jambalaya. Scallops, shrimp, and crawfish tails....WOW. you... More

The restaurant has lots of personality and in one of the historic buildings in old New Castle. Not a very large place and I heard it fills up quickly on weekends. We went during a week night so it wasn't a problem to get a table. Good blues music on weekends starting 7pm. Lots of cajun and creole dishes that... More

One of my favorite places in Northern Delaware is this hole in the wall Cajun joint on the main street in historic New Castle. A nice selection of craft beers on tap plus excellent, if a bit pricy, New Orleans inspired food. The baked brie in phylo with a sweet sauce and candied walnuts brings me back again and again.... Nice atmosphere, quaint and out of the way. Food was pretty good and nice portion size. Service was basic but worth a visit.

The food is decadent here. We had these steak egg rolls for an appetizer and they were yummy. However, the coconut shrimp was the highlight of the appetizers. Salads are beautiful.

Restaurant has lots of personality. Historic building in old New Castle. Not very large so it fills up quickly on weekends, suggest making reservations in advance. Good blues music on weekends starting 7pm. Lots of cajun and creole dishes. A little pricey, but nice portion. Great desserts, save room! Nice selections of drinks. Great happy hour 4-7 Mon - Fri.... We were out and about this weekend and often visit old New Castle to walk and enjoy the historic buildings. It was just after lunch and we decided to try Nora Lee's Café. The menu looked good so we ventured in. The food was so-so, nothing special, and it filled our hunger. However, for the prices, I expected larger portions... More
