We popped in about 7:30pm on a Sunday and this crab restaurant was out of all of their crab except the soup. They have gone to winter hours and are closed on Monday and Tuesday, so they sell off all of their crab on Sunday. Call ahead to reserve your crabs or take your chances on a Sunday. In fact,... We asked some Dewey Beach locals who they thought did the best crabs in town and their unanimous recommendation was the Surfing Crab. Our group was full of Marylanders who came with high expectations but everyone agreed that they were some of the best crabs we have ever had. The Jumbos were very expensive but certainly worth every penny. It... More

I have never left a crab on the table but with all you can eat and these huge crabs, I had to. The crabs were big and absolutely delicious. The hush puppies and fries were good too. The waiter was very attentive. The beer was great. An absolutely incredible meal. My new favourite crab place.

We had some of the best crabs ever here. We got the all you can eat special for $42. It includes crabs. Hush puppies, Cole slaw and fries. The hush puppies also ranked among the best I've had. Expect a waste t for dinner, but there is a bar and a waiting area. It's worth the wait!

Being a fool for fish tacos, I had to try these. The server assured me I would love them. The result was a tasty trio of tacos surrounded by arugula and other greens, a small cup of bean-corn salad, and a smoky sauce in a cup. Not a fan of smoky, but the rest was really good. The different touch... More

The family was celebrating the arrival of our niece from New Orleans who brought along her new boyfriend. Since she loves steamed Blue Claw crabs, the 8 of us came to this restaurant which is a couple miles north of Five Points in Lewes. Seating is at paper covered long picnic tables with bench seating. We ordered the all you... More

I went here for dinner on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was full, but we were able to be seated quickly. The adults had crab cakes - which were the best I've ever had anywhere, and the child with us had fish and chips - also very good. This is a not-at-all fancy, casual... More

The crabs here are very good. They definitely buy quality product. If you want to ensure they have the size that you want, you should call ahead a few days in advance and reserve crab. Notably, even the all you can eat crab were heavy crabs filled with meat and appeared to be medium and large crabs. They were not... More

My wife and I stopped in for crabs prior to boarding the ferry to Cape May. We excitedly went in with our own crab picking tools in hand and sat down at the all too familiar table covered in brown paper. Our waitress (Dana) came to our table and we quickly order a couple beers and attempted to order some... More

We've only ever had great crabs here. And since we only get crabs once or twice a season we always splurge and get the largest crabs they have. Well yesterday at lunch the biggest they had were mediums but they also offered all you can eats for around $45. I've never gotten the all you can eats because I always... More

Description
The Surfing Crab is a family tradition of fresh seafood and crabs that was established over 50 years ago. It all started back in 1961, when Henry Vechery opened the Bethesda Crab House. His young son, Donald Vechery began working with him at the age of just nine. Over the years, the crab house became a huge success. Around 2008, Donald wanted to branch out and build something for himself using his years of knowledge and experience. Thus, The Surfing Crab was born, providing Sussex County with 8 years of the most amazing crabs and seafood the area has seen. Come down and try our passionatly crafted dishes using the freshest seafood available!
