Some of the most delicious crabcakes my wife and I have had. Super good. You may be taken back by the setting when you walk in -- family style seating. It's also a really small room where folks eat so there is a lot of banging from the crab mallets, but that's OK -- the homemade food definitely makes up... More

Macaroni & cheese with fresh crab meat was outstanding (and very filling). Blackened fresh tuna with grilled string beans and peppers was also excellent! Service was great! We didn't get there in time to order the "all you can eat" crab dinner, but we saw lots of people holding little mallets and cracking away at the crab shells. Seems like... More

If you are coming during a busy weekend and want to do all you can eat, be sure to call ahead to reserve your crab. You may not be able to reserve a table, but at least you can reserve your crab! Communal tables, great people, great food. Must try while in Delmarva!

We found this place has the best crabs at the best price and always awesome servers to help your first timers open and clean their crabs. Hot crabs, cold beer and a few deviled eggs and a few fried oysters made for an awesome meal.

Just the place you are looking for if you are a steamed crab fan! You know right away when you see the paper on the tables, the little wooden mallets, and the happy customers. The service is friendly and helpful, the crabs are awesome. Sit down and start cracking and picking, but the staff will be very helpful. Personally, I... More

Went one weekday evening. You get french fries, hush puppies & cole slaw with the AYCEC. The crabs were served to us (2 people) 5 or 6 at a time. The crabs were done but they didn't taste like they were cooked with a lot of seasoning. They were served with a bunch of dry seasoning on top which was... More

We went here but decided not to order blue crab having just eaten some the day before. Instead, my husband ordered $40 crab legs and I got the crab cake sandwich. Unfortunately half of his crab legs just didn't seem to be cooked correctly and my crab cake sandwich was just ok. I was surprised to find that their menu... More

Yummy yummy yummy! If you want to pick crabs at a picnic table with cold beers and other delicious food, this is THE PLACE. I've driven by for years and I am so glad we finally got to eat here. It was great. Fresh crabs were a pleasure to pick. Had some other food- a burger, hush puppies, some salads,... More

We were making our way down to the beach and needed to find a place to eat, we had the mussels which was the best I've ever had, then I had the crab cake sandwich and my boyfriend had the fried oysters, the crab cake was definitely better. We didn't try the crabs as we wanted to eat quickly, but... More

A genuine crab feast with large, hot, fresh crabs. Dress down, make reservations, and get there early. Truly the best crabs I've ever eaten anywhere in the U.S. You'll pay for this though. The prices on the all you can eat change daily and range from around $39-$45 depending upon the day. It's still very worth it. The all you... More

Description
The Surfing Crab is a family tradition of fresh seafood and crabs that was established over 50 years ago. It all started back in 1961, when Henry Vechery opened the Bethesda Crab House. His young son, Donald Vechery began working with him at the age of just nine. Over the years, the crab house became a huge success. Around 2008, Donald wanted to branch out and build something for himself using his years of knowledge and experience. Thus, The Surfing Crab was born, providing Sussex County with 8 years of the most amazing crabs and seafood the area has seen. Come down and try our passionatly crafted dishes using the freshest seafood available!
