Long wait for the worst meal Man busting table rude and running all over the place and cleaning half way . Wouldn’t tell anybody to come there wasted money and time would give them 0 but the lowest they rating is 1
Found the Southern Grill. Right off Rt. 113... The breakfast was great. My wife had the French toast made out of homemade bread... I thought the coffee was very good.
Just finished a catered meal at the Milford Elks Lodge #2401 by Southern Grill and it was outstanding. Fried Chicken, ham, lima beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, rolls and assorted desserts. What a great spread for a great price and the servers were the...nicest gentlemen you'd ever want to meet. I recommend them for any and all events.More
Coming Back from the ocean we were hungry and looking for a place to eat. We drove by the Southern Grill and my husband remarked that the parking lot was full earlier that morning as well as currently….a good sign! We quickly turned around and...are we ever glad we did!! Such an unpretentious place with such a great menu and food! It’s quirky without being off pudding and the food was really great!! Definitely a lot of carrots put into it. The homemade yeast rolls that were served first were spectacular. We ordered the stuff shrimp the crabcakes and the fried chicken with a variety of sides. All the food was so delicious!More
We found this gem while looking for something to eat near Milford, DE. They popped up with a 4.5 star rating...I'm down. The soft shell crab sandwiches were yummy; white bread, tomato, lettuce and the right amount of seasoning. In other words...exactly as this local...delicacy should be prepared AND cooked perfectly. Our waitress was awesome. She was quick with her wit and did not let us down with her opinions when asked about the menu. We ordered take our desserts; chocolate cake and coconut cake and they were outstanding. Summary...I'll be back!More
Years ago I came here and was less than disappointed. This is my second time back in less than 3 months. Wow what a change in the food taste and appearance. Prices are spot on for the amount of food you get.The service was outstanding...and the staff are so pleasant. The place itself is bright and inviting. If you live in Delaware, Maryland or passing through on your way to the beach its a must. I came here with my visiting father and he was upset I could not take him. I will be coming back again and agian.More
Waiting for the restaurant to re-open, but in the meantime the same wholesome, generously-portioned home cooking (nothing fancy) is available a few blocks away from a silver trailer. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and accommodating, so don't be shy!
They have closed the regular restaurant and moved a little West to the corner of 113 and 16. Look for a silver trailer in the gravel lot. I got the rib dinner and the smoked flavor was outstanding, by the time I got home the...big French fries had gotten a little soggy but the Mac n’ cheese was good. She got the Rock fish and was happy.More
Saw this place in restaurant impossible, they have great food. The place is very inviting and the owner stops by in every table to talked to everybody and asked how's the food. The food was so good! We will be back again.
WE went to the restaurant on christmas eve first time. It was 5:00 and we almost didnt go in there was no customers. we started to get back in car, This man outside the restaurant yelled at us "Where you going?" He said they closed...at 6 and we have plenty of ttime. The waitress was nice but this man who says hes the brother in law of the owner... was rude. Yes we were almost finished our meal he came to our table thew a empty plate on top of our main plate that still had crab we paid for on it and was still eating.. He says "you done" My husband was quiet but when we got to the car he was really dissapointed that we were treated in such a way. We will never be backMore
We saw this place on our way to the beach to visit friends this past weekend and after checking out the reviews we decided this is where we would stop for dinner on our way home. We recently discovered this little short cut to the...beach and although I was thrilled about the time it saved I was a little sad it meant we would no longer pass by Jimmy's Grille so I could grab some of my favorites to take home. Well my frown was turned upside down when I quickly realized that the menu and the food all tasted quite similar, but quite a bit better so I asked our server and she confirmed that the place was owned by Jimmy's former head chef. We started with a cup of the Lima Beaan Soup and both hubby and I ordered the 4 piece fried chicken dinner and for our sides we had the stuffing topped with chicken gravy, collard greens, cole slaw, green beans and we each ordered an additional side - stewed tomatoes for me and fried okra for him. Everything was absolutely delicious, the chicken had a better flavor and was moister then Jimmy's and the sides all tasted a bit different as well, like they had been cooked that day but the biggest difference was with the soup. The broth tasted of ham, a much more savory version then we had become used to at the other place and hubby hasn't stopped talking about it since. The portions are large so we both ended up taking half of our meals home with us and didn't have any room left for dessert which is a shame considering the vast amount of choices - all homemade in house. This place is fairly small and even though we stopped for dinner close to 7 pm the dining room was packed and the people never stopped coming in the whole time we were there. I feel horrible that we never got our server's name because she was the epitome of true Southern hospitality, hopefully we'll see her on our next visit so I can give credit where it is due.More

We had heard, Restaurants Impossible, had given Soutern Grill a make over. Of course we had to See for ourselves. We had been years ago and now wanted to see the New Look. It was clean, still small. Food was good. Service was good but....not the atmosphere we really like. Prices were a tad high.More
We went today because we were anxious to see the results of Mr. Irvine's remodel of the building & we were curious if service had improved. NOT. NOT. NOT. We - 4 adults - entered the building at 11:45AM & were seated immediately. The waitress...took our orders at 12Noon. 1 Fried Flounder Sandwich. 1 Taco Wrap. 1 Angus Burger - done well. 1 piece of Liver & Onions, Mashed Potatoes & Green Beans. The Flounder & Angus Burger were delivered at 12:35PM. 35 minutes! The Liver platter & Taco Wrap were delivered 10 minutes later. The Burger was red inside, but charred on the outside so it was returned when the last dishes were delivered with the request to cook it until "done". At 12:55PM the Burger had NOT been returned. I went to the kitchen area & requested to speak to a manager. A man admitted he was in charge & his name was Man(?) I explained that it was now 1 hour since our table had ordered a "Done" Burger & it had not been delivered. He said it was ready. I said we don't want it now because the other 3 people were done eating. I requested our bill so we could pay & leave. He said OK. Find your waitress. I was astounded. No apology. Nothing. I informed him I would be making a poor review of our experience & that we came specifically to see the remodel, etc. He just stared at me & said, "You don't want the Burger so I can't help you." As I stood there staring at him as he lounged against the door opening, in disbelief of his horrible customer service, he may have said, under his breath, "I apologize." I hope he said that. We will never be back. The Flounder was fried to a dry, crisp, thin, inedible mess. The liver was over-cooked and the edges were so hard they broke off, inedible. The Burger was brought to the table in a styrofoam box that had been sitting too close to a heat source causing it to warp beyond the ability to close. The Burger was charred, broken into 3 pieces & had shrunk to about a 1 1/2" diameter. The Taco Wrap was great. Don't waste your time or money at this restaurant. The remodel is very nice. There are 4 fewer tables. I'm sad that Chef & Owner Ron White was not there. I believe he doesn't know about the rude and slow staff.More
