This is our second visit to The Mill while holidaying in the Lakes. Beautiful food. Plenty of choice and reasonable pricing. Only negative is the kiddies menu is limited and I feel quite expensive at £5.95. Well worth a visit.

Met up with family who were staying in a nearby cottage. Lovely quiet location but close to Keswick and other Lake District places of interest e.g. Ullswater. Good food and well stocked bar. Very clean and tidy, comfortable bed/bedroom. A breakfast to die for! Very friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

Looks like the place has new tenants since we were last here, good luck to them as they seem a very people. The Robinsons beer may not be the best but it was crisp and clear and well kept, the food arrived after a short wait and was very enjoyable. The setting for this pub is very lovely in the... More

We were looking for a quiet country pub to grab a bite to eat for lunch while driving around the Lake District. The weather was nice enough to sit outside (in May!) in a pretty setting surrounded by the hills. The owner was extremely friendly while explaining that the soup of the day - tomato - was home made. It... More

Had a lovely meal in this pub very tasty with freshly cooked vegetables. Beer very nice too. We found this pub to be very welcoming and friendly and would visit again if in the area.

We ate here two days in a row as we were staying nearby. The first day we ordered steak and ale pie and rump steak. Pie was homemade and delicious, steak well cooked and tasty. The second day the food wasn't as good, we ordered fish and chips and a burger. The fish was slightly soggy and the chips were... More

We'd had a tiring week in the lakes hiking and were heading home, but thought we'd sneak in a bit of lunch before heading east along the A66. We had been to the Mill numerous times in the past and knew we could rely on a nice bit of lunch. We were the only ones in, it was 1150hrs, but... More

We just called in for a pint after a walk. It was early afternoon and there was nobody else in the pub. But every table was laid for food. As well as cluttering the table it makes the drinker feel unwelcome. Pity, because the beer was very good.

We visited the Mill Inn at the end of a lengthy walk- the pub has a lovely atmosphere and the landlady and other staff were really welcoming. We initially planned to have just a drink but decided to eat also. The beers on offer were lovely and the food was great too. The pub is situated close to the river... More
