I am 65 and on a hot day I felt I needed some water. I asked at the front desk if I could buy a bottle of water. Without any fanfare the host went and got me a big paper cup of fresh water and...he said "no charge." I live in the area and since then have eaten there several times. Good food and better people.More

The orange juice is fresh and excellent would highly recommend. I had French toast which was very good. The penguin poptart was also very good. My family had eggs which they said were filling but not excellent. The coffee was not very good. Service was...very good. Overall a good breakfast. Would definitely come back.More

This is a great spot to grab breakfast on a Saturday morning. The food is good, the service is friendly, and it's a sunny, pleasant restaurant. We'll be back on our next trip to Bethany.

Staying close by with a toddler so decided to order online. Easy to navigate website and surprisingly fast turn around time. Andy’s & Jen’a both incredible, the fried cheese is salty, but tasty and the Bloody Mary is to die for. Arrived early for my...order and went in- staff member offered to being it out to my car for me. I’m amazed at how friendly everyone has been so far.More

Excellent Breakfast ! as well as excellent service, on the bethany boardwalk, nestled in between stores - sort of like a strip mall, pleasant of seating clean and bright inside and out - seated right away and given waters and menus and order taken shortly...after - started with Nina's Nutella - French toast with nutella and bananas topped with powdered sugar served hot and fresh - 4 squares so we were all able to have one, 2 Breakfast Burritos - huge and delicious - one classic - very good and one omelet special - great as well, coffee and iced tea refills and we were also given refills on the iced tea to go ! Great stop if you are in the areaMore

The penguin has good quality food but is way overpriced. Seven dollars for a small orange juice. $1.75 for one slice of toast. $14-$20 for an omelette. No matter how good it tastes it is a complete rip off

My only comment on the restaurant is the menu seems smaller than I had remember. We got takeout for lunch. The salad was good and the breakfast sandwich was good. The online ordering was simple. Very convenient.

Love this place! Great for breakfast, best mimosas around. Prices are a little high but it’s a good field-to-fork diner. Friendly service. Will definitely be back.

I have eaten in this place several times and honestly it’s hit or miss! Some days are better than others... one thing that’s totally annoying is a fact they are not cheap and service is just average... when you order breakfast of any kind they...serve one slice of toast and should you order a second slice they charge $1.50 for a slice of bread 🍞 in my opinion that is outrageous... they serve a western omelette as standard fare always available however depending on who is cooking the ingredients are sometimes plentiful other times not so much... same thing with home fries.... in addition they assume it’s ok to suggest a minimum tip of 18% and higher... overall food is acceptable and orange juice is fresh but expensive also...More

"My wife and I went out looking for dinner and ended up at the Penguin. Glad we did. Excellent, quick service; friendly staff, comfortable decor and best of all - top quality crab cakes at competitive prices. Highly recommend this diner on the basis of...our lone experience. And it has an even better reputation for breakfast. We'll have to come back for breakfast." The review above I left in June of 2016. On an impromptu weekender to Rehoboth Beach my wife and I finally got back to the Penguin for breakfast and it was as good as expected. 3 1/2 years after our first visit all the attributes mentioned above remain the same. This is a good "diner". And our breakfasts - crab omelet for me and a turkey omelet for my wife - were worth the trip back. Highly recommend the Penguin - whether for dinner or breakfast - when you are in the Bethany Beach area.More

The fFoods great, except the Shakshauka. Our server was attentive. We sat on the high stools facing the windows, watching the people go by and eating. The sun shined into the restaurant making the scene that more pleasant. I had the fish, it came with fresh...made potatoe chips. My daughter had the Artichoke and Spinach Dip, and the chicken. The eggs on the Shakshauka were fresh. I enjoyed them but left the sauce. Because I eat the authentic traditional dish I know what is should taste like and how it is made. The eggs are not just sitting atop the sauce the way it is made here. And, the sauce was too thick. In spite of this we enjoyed our meals. We will definitely go back.More

A diner in walking distance near the beach...priceless! The food was acceptable. The waiter was slow, inexperienced, too quiet, but still personable to reccomend selections. I enjoyed my Greek omelet. My son enjoyed the lobster melt. My wife liked the double burger. The hash browns...were good. The potato chips were housemade and very good. The bathrooms were clean.More
