The Cottage Cafe is my go to restaurant when I visit Bethany. I just finished a three day stay and went two nights in a row for dinner. The first night everything was absolutely delicious which I have become accustomed to. However, Friday night was...fish fry night which sounded good so I went for it. My suggestion is, stay away from it. There was very little fish inside of a huge amount of crust or breading or whatever you might want to call it, and the second piece, which I thought was fish, was more like mashed potato inside of crust. It could have been all right, but it had a really sour taste. Still not sure what it was. I’ve been many times to the Cottage Cafe and this is the first time that I’ve ever had anything that fell flat. I’ll go back next time I’m in Bethany, just will never have the fish fry.More

Every time we order take out the everything is perfect! The kids had the “world’s greatest grilled cheese” and we had firey fingers. We Love the cottage cafe.

Great place and always has been for 15 years we have been going here, extremely reasonable prices with wonderful selection of just about anything you would want. The burgers, fries, beef stew, meatloaf and salmon are all terrific. Service is superior as always, our favorite...bar tender/server is Tracy who is rarely there. Thanks to the Brent & Tom for providing us with this consistently excellent place to eat.More

The food would have been great except that everything was over-salted. Covered outside seating was a plus. Service was good. Just couldn't eat my meal because of the level of salt.

We waited almost 75 minutes for a table...off season, so we were hoping it would be worth it. Once we were seated inside, we ordered the Dune Fries...good cheese fries. My Pot Roast dinner was AMAZING. I would recommend it again and again! My husband...& son both ordered the Ribeye steak...medium rare. My son’s was more medium, but he could eat it; my husband’s was more medium-well...he sent it back. They brought a replacement with many apologies...perfectly cooked. Both of my guys felt that the rosemary in either the marinade or the butter topping was overwhelming, and not entirely appetizing. My husband loved his creamed spinach! Again...HIGHLY recommend the pot roast!!! SO GOOD!!!More

Great experience all around. Everything we ordered was good! We were seated immediately, everything was clean, staff were friendly and organized, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating. Crab pretzel, pickle fries and steamed shrimp appetizers were all good. We had a variety of main...dishes, all of which were very tasty and well presented - the puffin (I think that's what it's called) burger, puffin with crab on top, a flatbread, crab patties, alpine chicken and the berry salad. Even the iced tea was excellent - which is not always the case in restaurants.More

We went to the cottage cafe based on a recommendation of a local. Our Waitress was happy, personable and could not have been nicer!!! The food was good and the outdoor dining perfect.

One of our favorites. Covid brought a twist for dining but this establishment doing best they can with routine. You can order takeout online. Note online does not have all items typically in the restaurant that regulars may enjoy. A reason for 4 star vs...5. Order early as there may be long wait. They will take credit cards over phone but still must sign receipt which we were shocked due to all the security with distancing they needed this. This is why we have 4 star vs our normal 5 star. Overall they are doing great job and food is still awesome. We have seen slight increase in price but we are okay paying tad more for takeout.More

We ordered online for pickup. Not as organized as some other restaurants in the area. Had to sign credit card receipt at the restaurant. Steamed shrimp were good as was the Caesar salad. Stuffed scallops were good size but bland and hubby didn’t like the...spinach.More

We went to dinner at Cottage Cafe last night. We did the online check in and our party of 6 were seated immediately. Our waiter, Tom, did a great job with our order, requests, drink refills, etc. We ordered the Dune fries to start and...it almost filled all 6 of us. We cant go there without getting the Sandpile or Dune Fries. The portions are also very large so keep that in mind. Everyone enjoyed their food. I got the fried flounder with mac & cheese along with creamed spinach. The best meal I've had in a long time. There was a mistake with one of our kids orders when they brought fried shrimp instead of fried fish. Tom told my son to keep the dish and snack on it. Then the manager shows up with an extra large helping of fried flounder. The manager and Tom went out of their way to make things right.More

Hello, We don't take reservations but we do offer call ahead seating. How that works is you call within a half hour of your arrival and if there is a wait, your name would be put on the list at that point so when you arrive... More
