The weather Sunday felt like a dreary fall day in the middle of August. It was a good day to take a scenic ride to Woodbury and try San Remo Restaurant. There was a crying baby in the dining room, so the hostess offered to...seat us in the nice quiet bar. Thank you again. The bar is beautifully appointed with high ceilings with big modern fans to circulate the air. As well as greyish blue walls and a brick accent wall. While we looked over the menu, my wife asked the waitress how the marinara tastes. The waitress brought her a small bowl with a little of the marinara to taste for herself. Who does that anymore? That's great customer service. My wife ended up ordering Mozzerella en Carozza over linguine with the marinara because she liked it so much. She also enjoyed a cup of chicken soup before dinner. I began with a cup of Pasta Fagoli which was very good. I don't usually order dinners with a cream sauce. But the description of my dinner sounded so good that I had to try it and it was delicious. Seafood Mona Lisa Scallops, shrimp, and crab meat in a fresh basil sherry wine cream sauce. The scallops and shrimp were tender and cooked perfectly. They were a little shy with the crab meat. But the taste of the sherry cream sauce was outstanding. We shared a piece of their homemade Tiramisu to complete our delicious dining experience at San Remo Restaurant.More

Ordered via phone for curbside pick up during the covid problem. I was told 25 minutes and I arrived at the restaurant around 27 minutes later. We call as instructed and was told nothing was ready and it would be 10 minutes more. I called...again after another 10 minutes and was told they had the order and it wasn’t ready yet. 38 minutes later I was told 5 minutes more and still no food until an other 12 minutes. Total time from placing order till the brought my dinner was over 1.5 hours. Before the pandemic we ate a lunch and a dinner once a week. After this fiasco I have to think twice about returning.More

Hello Lew sorry to hear about your experience yesterday on Mother’s Day… There may have been a miscommunication because we were giving a two hour wait for any dinners I find it a little harsh on us that you have been a customer here and...More

We had originally gone to another restaurant and left because of a 40 minute wait time. This was our first time to San Remo’s. The dining room was WAY TOO BRIGHT (owners dim the lights it’s like a cafeteria in there), so we chose to...sit in the bar. It was decorated with cool Halloween decor and had a good vibe. Our server came right over and was chagrined to report that the drink I ordered could not be made. I ordered a Very Berry Martini which was delicious, but my husband’s drink was very weakly made. I ordered mild buffalo wings, which were a tad too spicy for my husband and I. We took the remainder home for my son. He had a cup of pasta fagiole soup and said it was good. My cauliflower pizza was NY style according to the menu and had broccoli, olives, tomatoes and feta cheese as well as mozzarella. It was FANTASTIC! my husband’s and my dinner were piping hot and his scallops and shrimp nicely done. Although he ordered spinach instead of broccoli, he got the broccoli anyway. All in all the server was friendly and the vibe cool.More

We love this restaurant and come here quite frequently. The wait staff are friendly and attentive even in their VERY busy evenings. A wonderful variety of Italian foods and pizza....specials are great to try....the seafood dishes on pasta are terrific, as well as the more..."meat and potato/pasta" selections, and all entrees are available with soup or salad.More

Went with a buy one lunch get one free . When the waitress came we were informed we could only order from the “specials “ menu , more expensive than the regular , but still buy one get one , right? Every item on the...“specials “ menu featured pasta, so forget a nice salad . Our meal was ok when it FINALLY was served . Looong wait and only 3 tables occupied ! And .... READ THE FINE PRINT ! on the coupon. Must order a drink with each meal . My husband had water , I had ice tea . We were charged $4 for the tea ! When we questioned this , she said “ oh well ... you were each supposed to order a drink , so because one if you had water , I charged you double for the tea “ Ya think she could have told us that in the beginning ? ??? . Scratch this place off our list .More

The place is clean, the atmosphere is ok and our server was pleasant and friendly. We ordered 3 different different meals and each was excellent. The portions are large and tasty. I can’t understand why more reviews are either 4 or 5 star. I will...be eating here often.More

First time ordering from this place. I ordered a small tomato and garlic pie and a caprese salad. The pizza had small pieces of diced tomatoes and light garlic. It tasted good but I was disappointed in the diced tomato, i was expecting slices and...heavier garlic... The salad had a balsamic glaze on it which was too sweet and not very tasty. The bed of lettuce was full of water. Not great.More

San Remo located on rt 6 in Woodbury used to be a favorite. Beautiful setting, lackluster servers and a now mediocre menu make it difficult for this town staple. They were known for having theme dinner nights which I wish they would get back to....This is an Italian Restaurant owned by Greeks who in my opinion should bring their heritage forward since everyone else does the same. A solid Mediterranean menu would bring this gem into the 21st century. My thoughts are that management has become completely complacent and need a visit from Chef Gordon Ramsay! The chef is temperamental as indicated by the food product that hits the table. These folks just purchased the shuttered painted pony in Bethlehem and intend to renovate and reopen within the year. They are going to need there A game because anything less will not cut it. Sorry guys for being critical but, it is what it is, Im not telling you what you don’t already know!More

This used to be a great spot for well prepared reasonably priced food. It now appears to be all supply house (Sysco) portions, edible but in no way remarkable. Calamari was definitely frozen prepared. Batter coating, no tentacles. Swordfish "special" was a thin slice of...overcooked swordfish over mediocre broccoli rabe. Best part was the baked potato (hard to screw that up!). 7:30 Saturday night and the place is half empty. I should have known better. Go elsewhere like Carlitos or any of the Waterbury Italian restaurants like Diorio, Damelias, or La Tavola. Well worth the drive.More
