The setting is beautiful if you don’t mind the cats walking around. The food was very good but they are understaffed as we waited an hour for 2 entries. The drinks that were $18 each had no liquor. Tasty juice. As with all at barts...Checks the euro to dollar ratio is never correct.More

The surrounding is gorgeous; staff very friendly but the food is not up to St Barth top restaurants standards. The food was nothing special and was served cold twice. The quality of the food went down the last couple of years. I went twice in...2017, I was eager to be back but after this last experience, I doubt I will be back.More

Our family of 7 had a wonderful dining experience here. The moment we walked through the amazing tropical garden to reach the host we knew we were in for a special night. We were warmly and enthusiastically greeted by the host and asked if we...wanted a table inside or al fresco. Since there was no threat of rain, we chose the latter. It was perfectly situated and we felt we were in a tropical forest sans bugs. Our waiter, Pablo, was the best we have experienced on the island. He was friendly, knowledgable and especially kind to the children. We chose the tuna cerviche and fish carpaccio as appetizers. They were all delicious. Entrees included the hanger beef and the mahi mahi,. The children enjoyed their pasta, French fries, and fish. Dessert was an amazing snickers ice cream confection and chocolate ice cream for the children. Truly a uniques and exceptional dinner in a magical setting.More

This restaurant was in the top 3 that we visited on the island. Food, service, and ambience were top notch which is hard to find. We arrived without a reservation hoping they would still be able to seat us and we got lucky and without...issue they found us a beautiful table. Our server was Pablo and he was by far the best server we had on the island if not anywhere. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. We like to ask servers for recommendations, and a lot of times they are robotic but Pablo gave us true recommendation asking about what we liked before going so. We also had questions on recommendations of french wines since we are from the US and not too familiar. He gave us recommendations but even before concretely deciding he asked his sommelier which was a great touch to make sure we liked what we ordered. He later introduced us to the Sommelier Frederic was also an incredible person. Asking us about ourselves, talking about wine, and although the restaurant was busy he took the time to make us feel special even sharing a glass of wine with us once he learned we were there on our honeymoon. The food was incredible - Ordered the pork belly ravioli, Filet mignon with foie gras which my husband said was great. I highly recommend Tamarin on your trip, it was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in a beautiful setting.More

Manu people recommended to us but the reality is that we don’t have a good experience with the food. We ordered a truffle pasta and it had no flavor at all. We also order a truffle risotto which was exactly the same. I see the...typical tourist restaurant. Sorry but it was my experience.More

The garden is absolutely stunning, just like in a fairy tale. The setting is fantastic for a romantic dinner. Nevertheless, the service was not what you would expect from a high end restaurant. Everyone was friendly, however the way they would be friendy in a...fast food restaurant. We are both vegetarians and we ordered the only vegetarian dish on the menu, which was good, but nothing too creative. The toilets were very dirty, with toilet paper on the floor. In total we had a pleasant evening, however the restaurant is completely overpriced. It's what you could sell to pepople who never were at a fancy restuarant and think that the fancyness lies only in the price.More

It’s difficult to explain just how magical La Tamarin is. A tropical oasis with twinkly lights everywhere. So romantic. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary here and could not have asked for a better experience. The host/manager and wait staff were some of the...nicest people we met on the island. And the food was spectacular. Beautiful and tasty!More

We truly enjoyed our evening at Le Tamarin---from the great service and welcome to the wonderful meal. The garden setting with overhead lights is gorgeous! We were also impressed by the very substantial wine list and a dinner menu with many delicious options for even...the most picky eater. It was also nice to see so many families eating at the restaurant with their young children. All in all, a fabulous evening!More

I should have been tipped off when I learned that we didn’t need a cc to make the reservation (which is designed to protect scammers from overbooking- and charges them 150/ head for no shows- to protect ppl like you and me). Our concierge made...the reservations for Sunday night at 9. We arrived early at 8:30 no problem we were seated right away! So far so good. The menu, wine list, cocktail menu showed up promptly and were asked still or sparkling for water choices. I’m not a fancy cocktail person but my wife tried one, the waiter asked me if I wanted one i said no and they scoffed and took off. So now it’s time to order and decide on food. While looking at the menu I scanned the wine list to see what was available. At this point a person came over immediately and said they were the Sommelier and could they help. I’m not sure but you usually pick wine after deciding on the entrees. I informed them of same and with that they scoffed off and in the background they were talking about us/me. So this is supposed to be a top French restaurant, I thought. The menu was limited and the. They brought us a chalk board with specials- beef for 240.- or tomahawk for (2) at 550.- We ordered salads for starters both were good. We ordered off the menu hangar steak for mains and the a bottle of Smith Haut LaFite wine! While this is ongoing the usher rolls in with a party of (9) women one with a brides veil dressed in white- intoxicated. And then another troupe of 8-9 gals that looked like hoes. Both sitting within our immediate vicinity, both American, both bombed. The steak was nothing to talk about and the wine was superb! The grounds were amazing a little like rainforest cafe’ Disney theme park ish. But nice. In the end our waiter came over with the check and asked us if it was good to which I was polite and said yes ok good but not great. They were clearly expecting superlatives and so wanted to debate the merits of the place and fix it? Fix what? It was a long convo which got interrupted several times by other waitstaff. They said, well it’s Sunday night and you know what happens on Sunday? No- duh? Nikki Beach happens and ppl get drunk there, and then come here!! Low bar I guess. They apparently cater to Americans and don’t stay true to a French cuisine due to market feedback. Oh well….they tried taking Sancerre off the wine list for example but nooo that was a bridge too far for Americans. If you want banquet style pseudo French food in a nice setting this is your place. Otherwise you can do better!More

We have been trying to get back to St. Barths since 2019, and covid has dashed our hopes more times than I can count. But we persevered and made it back and the first reservation I made for our trip was for Le Tamarin. We...had another memorable meal and experience in this wonderful place. Our waiters were excellent and made us feel welcomed. They did a fantastic job and were very personable. Our food was delicious, the gardens are enchanting and I was thrilled to be back. Thank you for not disappointing us after such a long wait. We LOVED it!More

I went to this restaurant , third time i have been to it. I had a great time. But at the end i ask for the check, i explain that i had gotten robbed at st jean and i had to pay cash. Wich i...never do. So i ask for the check and i said to add the 20 % . She told me i had to pay 193.00 dollars when theck had come 133.00 euros. In my mind it did not add up. Basically when i add up . When i did the conversión she added 20.00 dollars more. I am doing this review because of the honesty.watch out people with this restaurant first time i had this situation.More

My week in St Barths has been a luxurious experience, and Tamarin is one of the last locations i visited on the Island. Walking in was so beautiful, surrounded by nature. The lighting was perfect for a romantic stay. Greeted by the wonderful owner Manu,...known by my friends, so charismatic. The waiter Elias who served us was incredibly charming, engaging, and gave excellent recommendations and descriptions. One of the best waiters i’ve ever met! A light breeze, but thankfully we were covered by the pergola, a beautiful shelter. Cozy and chic, structures from Bali. Incredible designs to set the mood. The food was excellent, with a variety of specials. I had the Mahi Mahi and can confirm it’s excellence; although the Vegetables on the side lacked much flavor. My friend took the Kobe Steak and was delighted by its rich flavor and sauce. As well as the sides offered, the truffle purée so rich and thick, almost resembling Robuchons’ iconic one! I thank the staff for such a pleasant experience and cannot wait to be back!More

We weren't sure what to expect given recent reviews, but were encouraged to try the restaurant by the concierge at Rosewood Le Guanahani. We were very pleased with the atmosphere - as everyone is- it's gorgeous, green, twinkly - amazing grounds and it will not...disappoint. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived. Our sever, Chloe, was an expert with her knowledge of wines and the specials. We tried the watermelon/strawberry/feta appetizer and smoked burrata appetizer - both specials for the evening. The watermelon app was out of this world - imaginative and melded flavors together well. The smoked burrata wasn't as good - it wasn't as creamy or flavorful as you might expect, but was still decent. The flank steak special was expertly prepared at medium rare - flavorful and rich. The penne with truffles was sublime. The pasta was cooked perfectly - just a touch past al dente and the sauce light, with ample truffles. It was a large serving and we ate it all because, well, it was too good to leave on the plate. Great meal overall. This is not a cheap restaurant. Check out the menu before you come in order to manage expectations about the cost.More

Lot's of friends told us that Le Tamarin was the best restaurant in St Barth. ... but we were disapointed about it. Beautiful garden but lack of creativity in the food. I ordered a fish from the suggestion of the day, 70euros for a fish...that I at cold and not very well cleaned. A shame at this point! Nothing "special" that makes the experience a good souvenir.More

Casual and good for kids, as they can run through grounds. Also, people come with entire clan. You can find tables of twelve as norm there ( during holidays).
