We had a bit of trouble finding the Black Duck, and parking was tight on a Tuesday night. It was worth the effort, as our food and drinks were quite good. Service was a bit slow. Lobster roll and the clam chowder were nice options. Not a huge selection of draft beers, yet it was good enough

Lots of choices in Westport nowadays. But if you want great fried seafood and soft shelled crabs in season this is the place. Casual seating on the deck in warm weather. Cozy bar in a chill. Chill out here.

We visited the Duck shortly after a full day at the Boat show in Norwalk. Surprisingly there were tables available. The waitresses are as good as I remembered from our last visit. The food was as always, terrific. We had a jumbo lobster roll, the fishermans platter and a dozen clams casino. All exceeded our expectations. A nice Cesar salad was... More

This repurposed barge is permanently docked right on the Saugatuck River. I don’t go as much as I should but I would sure miss the opportunity if it were gone. Luckily we can still get really good burgers, sea food, sandwiches and of course Drinks at the best local bar in town. The eclectic crowd could include a family sitting... More

My husband and I have wanted to try the Black Duck ever since we saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. That was how many years ago? We are way behind on our list of places to eat. It’s exactly as you see it on the show. It’s a divey, cool little place on the river. The service was impeccable.... More

This place was exactly what a rainy day called for - delicious burgers, good chowder and unbelievable curly fries. The food came out quickly, it was very good and the staff was friendly. Thank you Michelle for making our trip to the Duck great.

The place was rocking with every table taken by young people with great enthusiasm. The service was very slow but friendly and the food was tasty and good. We had a family table of ten and had a great time. But it took 3 hours to get on and out Still and all we had a rollicking great time. The... More

As the title says, the Black Duck deserves our highest honors simply because it has outlasted well over one hundred restaurants, cafes, and coffee houses that have come and gone in this quaint little community since this venerable establishment opened 40 years or so ago. Longevity confers respect, in particular for get-down divey eateries with a severely listing floor like... More

Only been here once but it was worth it, the place is sort of tilted lol but never mind that, i ordered their barge burger and some appetizers and they were off the hook~! The place needs a facelift as many other places do but don't let that keep you from eating there~!

Great bar..Great food...Great people!! Nothing fancy, basically an old barge on the water but super cute and comfortable. Sat at the bar overlooking the water watching paddle boarders go by. You can also drive your boat right up to the door. The seafood is so fresh and amazing!! We'll have to go back a few times just to get everything... More
