I have been going here for years, although last week, upon deciding to dine in, I had a less than exceptional experience. As I sat at the bar the staff started closing out two seats down from me and then when my food came it...was packed to go although I clearly was dining in.... Not hurrying back.More

Go if you are looking for a nice ambience and good Indian food. Staff is too friendly and the food is pretty good compared to other indian reataurants. Veggie options are similar and are good taste wise.

A good restaurant with traditional Indian cuisine including vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers and entrees. Average size portions. Very friendly staff and very good service. A pleasant environment. The food didn’t seem freshly made and seemed to have been heated lunch.

This is really not my type of restaurant nor type of food I would normally visit but my girlfriend wanted to try so I did my best. We visited the restaurant with friends and gave it the college try. I have some serious food allergies...so I was very concerned with many of the restaurant menu options. The staff was a great sport about it but I would imagine they were probably a bit tired of me asking about most items on the menu. Finally I decided to go with something safe so I ordered the lamb chops which were ok but a bit overdone for my liking. Most of the people we went out to eat with enjoyed themselves but I don’t think I will be back again. I gave them 3 stars because legitimately they did everything they could to make it a positive experience but I had a tough time with it. Don’t think I will be back.More

Unassuming small front opens to a deep spacious restaurant. I personally shy away from buffet, mostly Indian. But here it was surprisingly pleasant. Being lactose intolerant it was nice to see the choices. Only 4 were dairy. They had vegetarian dishes chicken dishes and even...vegan. All flavorful and well spiced. The staff was attentive they even made sure my nan bread wasn’t with butter. Not bad lunch.More

We were in the mood for Indian, so decided to give Mumbai Time’s Sunday Buffet a try. The price was certainly right, and the people very friendly. The buffet has many offerings - and is presented along a long table, decorated with homey hand written...signs. There are many dishes with chicken as the star protein, a couple with lamb, and lots of vegetables. The food was tasty- but the temperature was not where it should be. It was all a bit lukewarm. It is a nice way to taste a lot of dishes- but it might be best to give the restaurant a try when they are actually preparing the dishes just for your table. We did order a special goat cheese Naan which was not on the buffet- and it was served piping hot and delicious.More

We haven't eaten here since 2013. There was no need - there were good Indian restaurants in Fairfield. Since then, things have changed, and we're looking for a local Indian restaurant. We thought we'd try Mumbai Times again. Five years ago, I gave Mumbai Times...a five star review for their lunch buffet. I was particularly impressed by the plate of freshly-made Naans, served directly to our table. I am happy to report that they still do this, and the Naans are splendid. I also remarked on the extensive choice of appetizers and entrees, which were not the usual bland offerings one often finds in a lunch buffet. That was then. Unfortunately things have changed (as has the ownership of the restaurant). The appetizer selection is limited to a few uninspired deep fried things, and the entrees have become the standard bland fare aimed at the American palate. Note, I'm not talking about 'heat', just overall flavor. The desert was called 'Rice Pudding', but lacked all the important attributes of the real thing - cardamon, raisins, a creamy taste - just some rice in a thin sauce, with a hint of saffron for color. My wife had some - I tried a spoonful. Thoroughly disappointing experience.More

We had a delicious meal. Loved the mulligatawny soup and warm nan. We are new to Indian food and the curry flavors in the chicken tikka and the sweet but savory shrimp dish were captivating!

We have eaten here a few times and the food has been consistently great! The Goat Cheese Naan was the best naan I have ever had. Seriously. Chicken Tikka Masala was flavorful and moist-yum! So many times the chicken is dry and sauce too thin....Not here! Chicken Vindaloo is very good too! We can choose to go to many other Indian restaurants but we will drive 20 minutes to go to Mumbai Times. Don’t let the fact that it’s in a strip mall deter you! If you like Indian you should try it! Haven’t tried the buffet because we’ve gone for dinner. But it looks like they have tons of options. We will be trying that next time!More
