Eye-catching, bold decorations greet you on entering this large location— We walked past a huge hibachi table room, next to a very large bar/seating area, to the main dining room. Menus are contactless and absolutely voluminous. Chinese, Japanese, sushi,… Lots to choose from, and it...all looked good. The stand-out was our exceptionally attentive, talented and patient waiter. He was a hoot to boot I am a sushi addict, so that’s where I went on this visit. I started with the raw tuna appetizer which was exceptional – – dark color, sliced in pieces with the soy based sauce to cover. So good I didn’t want it to end. I followed with the equally yummy Lollipop Raw Roll, swapping out the cucumber wrap with rice paper instead— freshly outstanding. My companions opted for vegetables/chicken Chinese dishes which they reported were superb with enough food to take home for another meal. Memorable meal, will definitely be backMore

Great first impression

My daughters favorite meal is hibachi, and this being her birthday, we figured we would give Koma a try— very glad we did. This venue is ideally located in the shopping center on the corner of Main Street and Route 44 in West Hartford with...tons of parking. We called in to take out, and found that the restaurant had a very Covid-conscious delivery system; At the door there’s a number to call to announce your arrival. Your food is placed, prepaid, on the table behind the doors. You are called back to retrieve your order, one customer at a time, with a thick plastic curtain separating the table and entryway from the remainder of the restaurant. There is no direct person-to-person interaction Beyond the ordering The food itself was superior to a majority of the hibachi restaurants in the vicinity. Both kids had the hibachi meal which came with their meats choice, rice and noodles, vegetables and soup. A salad was offered or one could have more of the rice. In the eyes of both kids, the food was spectacular, with the meat being tender and moist with a perfect amount of sauce and spice. Both rice and noodles were flavorful and the miso soup was delicious. On a sidenote, the amount of food was enormous and the price is fairly commiserate for the area We also tried the pork gyozas which were moist and flavorful as expected, and the fried calamari with accompanied sweet/spicy dipping sauce— The fish was tender and flash fried, crispy and thinly coated, enhanced by the kick provided by the sauce. Last but not least, We sampled some of the sushi rolls – – all the fish was exceptionally fresh, presented well and delicious. We were left stuffed but content, determined to give this venue a sit – in try once restrictions are liftedMore

Great Bar

Amazing sushi and noodles. Been wanting to go for a while and koma exceeded my expectations. Really cool vibe, good music, clean bathrooms, fresh fish, etc. we will definitely be back Special thanks to bartenders. Thanks for the hospitality and amazing drinks

Show is as good as the food

This was my first meal at a Japanese restaurant is probably three decades and unsure thy the gap between visits. The menu is extensive and most meals are cooked in front of the diner. Our chief (entertainer) did a great job creating our meal with...a show to match the food. The portion were good with reasonable prices. About half of our group took home part of their meal as the portions were bigger than their appetite.More

Great Dining

I have been there multiple occasions. Great for dine-in or take-out. One of the few places that lets you order online and still pay at the restaurant. Sushi fresh and tasty. Large portions. Hibachi great at dine-in, so-so for take-out. Never tried the chinese food....Lots of imaginative special sushi rolls.More

Good food and service

Visited for an evening meal. The hibachi is very good but the chicken and filet were very oily. Less oil could be used when cooking that amount of food. The service we had was excellent and the portions were large. The sushi was phenomenal.

Fun dinner for the kids - reasonably good food as well

We went for dinner with a large group essentially taking both sides of the cooking tables. With such a large group there were a number of different meals ordered. I think the highlight was keeping the grand kids entertained (ages 1 1/2 to 4) which...is a job in itself. The food was good - nothing really special but for all the different orders well done. I though the portion sizes could have been a little larger especially for the price per entree and considering the rice, noodles and veggies would be a filling and cheap addition. The "dynamite roll" was good enough we ordered a second one. I just had the standard steak and shrimp and it was very typical of a hibachi grill. I enjoyed it. Service overall was good.More

Take Out is Always Perfect

Our large family always has a complicated order which has always been correct and, the food has been hot & ready on time! Everyone has always enjoyed their meals - everything from from the Gyoza, Sushi, Pad Thai, etc. Nice selection that has options for...vegetarians, fish & meat eaters. We have not dined in so cannot comment on the restaurant service or atmosphere.More

Average

I found the reviews on Trip Advisor to be accurate. My service was fine but the Sushi was average at best. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon tastes the same. I had low expectations coming in and they were met.

Pretty Good!

We got takeaway for New Year’s Eve. Everything was well prepared and delicious. I just wish they had more traditional chinese dishes like egg rolls and fried rice with added incgredients. However, what we got was very good

Great hibachi

I recently visited Koma twice, and I found each experience very enjoyable. The proportions are reasonable, the staff is friendly, the hibachi show is very entertaining, and the food is delicious! They don't over-use the soy sauce, which I really like as well. If it...is your birthday, they will also give you a free dessert, sing Happy Birthday, and a guy comes out banging a drum. The second time I went there, there was live music; a father and daughter duo who sang and played guitar beautifully, so it was really nice to listen to while enjoying our meal! Overall, a wonderful place to get hibachi.More

Lunch on Memorial day not very memorial

Haven't been to this location since it was an Italian joint. A large space obviously tricked out for Hibachi parties. We had a simple lunch (she Pad Thai, me Hibachi with soup). For some reason they weren't offering their lunch menu so we got stuck...with dinners (think dinner prices). Food was so-so, they even brought separate spices that were also lackluster. $80+ for lunch - usual, overpriced, bland WeHa food.More

Emaculant cleanliness. Customer service is on point. We booked a reservation and were seated promptly. Hibachi Chef was friendly but his performance level was okay. It seemed as if he was a back of the house Chef they used do to a shortage on staff....Plate presentation was nice, food was good just needed more flavor. We did have a issue with an appetizer being under cooked but it was quickly replaced with no issue. Since this was our first visit, it deserves another. Every place has a day that isn't top notch.More

Dinner

This was our first time here. The food was very good. The hibachi “show” was fair. The portions were smaller than at other hibachi restaurants we have been to. The prices were comparable to other similar type places.
