I was craving a nice fresh salad and happened to look this place up. Its more of a mediteranian restaurant which I was really excited about! I ordered the Baby salad. I replaced the field greens w Arugula and it comes with blue cheese &...walnuts. My boyfriend got the Mediteranian bread salad. it had onions, capers, olives, tomatoes , cucumbers, lettuce toasted pita bread, feta cheese and i want to say roasted veggies. HE LOVED IT! Both come w a champagne vin. It was all very delicious and I look fwd to eating inside when all this is over.More

Hadn't been in this area for awhile. - So glad we stopped in! This is a charming little one room restaurant with a classy European atmosphere - white table cloths, lovely Mediterranean menu. Service is laid back, perhaps a bit too slow. Hard to choose...what to get because so many things sound wonderful. Everything we ordered was delicious. Ample portions. Note that street parking in West Hartford can be a challenge and there's a fee (prepay parking kiosks which require your license plate #).More

This place is magnificent! We at least go once a month and the owner as the chef makes it 10x times better. The creativity of flavors, rustic foods, and unique flavors is the reason why we continue to back. Although the size of the restaurant...is smaller than other WEHA venues, it provides a New York feel for couples or friends, but still family oriented. The VIBE is very low light, share stories, and enjoy great drinks with friends or loved ones. The staff is always helpful with reviews of the food and drinks. The flatbread is awesome, the salads are filling and unique, and the seafood is fresh and delicious. I highly recommend you go and check it out, you won’t be disappointed.More

Restaurants come and go in West Hartford, and elsewhere for that matter. Serving very nice meals for 23+ years, Arugula is a very solid and reasonable value choice in a town that takes food fairly seriously. With the same owner and chef over these years,...neither she nor we have become bored; the kitchen is in very capable hands. It's cozy, casual and sophisticated without being pretentious. You walk in past travel posters of places we would rather be (Bandol, Sainte Maxime, Nice, Pyla). The repertoire isn't limited to Provencale dishes, but includes inspirations from around the Mediterranean. There is a nice selection of Mezze, Flatbreads, Sandwiches, Cheeses, and varied mains at dinner. The wine list is not enormous, but selected with care and style. Most, if not all, the food is quite healthy without being obsessed with that fact. There are plenty of vegetables, some fish, fine salads and olive oil. The dessert menu shows passion and many of the dishes are homemade, which is becoming a rarity in these parts. Kudos for having some lovely jazz music rather than Muzak or something worse in the background. One could almost be in a serious piano bar, but West Hartford isn't quite ready for that. Over the past few years, we drifted away from this very pleasant place. We won't make that mistake again!More

Unbelievable meal! The service goes above and beyond. Nice variety for a ‘Mediterranean’ restaurant. Drink specials were delish. The gluten free crust on the sausage & fig pizza was to DIE for.

Friends had recommended this restaurant, and we joined them for dinner. From the beginning, it was clear that all of the members of the waitstaff team work together, so that our needs were met by various different staff members, all of them were friendly and...energetic. In reviewing the wine list, we found a number of good choices at reasonable prices. Although everything was excellent, we found that the Fattoush (called a Lebanese bread salad) which contained tomatoes, feta cheese, cucumbers, torn pita, chickpeas, capers and black olives was superb. For main dishes, we particularly enjoyed the Kibbeh, which is a Lebanese dish made with ground beef, bulghor wheat, pine nuts and spices. The evening that we were there, and is also a special of steamed clams which was excellent as well. The restaurant is small, but was not noisy, and the music did not blare so loud that we could not have good conversation during your dinner. We felt that the experience was well beyond our expectations both from the food and service.More

For years, we have wanted to try out Arugula and for no good reason, we haven't. A friend from out of town was visiting for lunch and when thinking about where to go, himself immediately suggested I take her to Arugula. Excellent suggestion! Friend and...I thoroughly enjoyed our meal - she had a flatbread and I had a salad. Both entrees were delicious, well prepared and well presented. I am looking forward to going back soon as recently I have been underwhelmed with the WH restaurant scene. I am definitely going to spread the word that this is a highly recommended restaurant. One comment which will not prevent us from returning is that I found the waitstaff somewhat non-attentive. It took awhile for our order to be placed (we were getting past lunch hour when we arrived) and no one checked in to see how we liked our food (good thing we loved it!). I am confident this was a one-off. Looking forward to taking late summer visitors here when we want a meal out!!More

Been coming here for years, always a fav. Got a table for 4 by the window (had made reservations), it was like a fridge. Asked staff to move, they said no but they turned down the air. For a while it was nice but when...the air cycled on it was a fridge. We thought there was a vent next to the table it was so strong but no; in essence the air system causes the air to flow across the ceiling and down the window/wall. It was brutal, Jon Snow would have been shivering, asked to move for a third time but we were told no room. Looking around the restaurant was not full and there was a table for 4 free next to the kitchen. The food was great, no denying but no one should be eating in a restaurant with their coats on as some of our party and a table behind us had to do. Would have liked to have stayed longer and enjoy more of their food but needed to go outside (where it was 60) to warm up. Staff could really have done more, table by the kitchen was still free when we left.More
