I'm going to be brief. Two meat combo, ribs and chicken. Amazing!!! Cowboy beans and cornbread. I've been here before, so I knew the food would be amazing, but actually strong and enjoying the meal was a great experience! The atmosphere was nice, seating comfortable, and the food...wow! Tender ribs that fall off the bone, sauced perfectly, and the chicken was tender and juicy. I don't like dark meat, but it was incredible!!! Cornbread was tasty, not dry and the beans were flavorful with pieces of brisket. I said I would be brief lol, oh well. I would've given 5 stars, but my ribs were a bit cold. The owner said to tell him next time and he would fix it. Highly recommend this place!

Another Diamond in hiding in the rough !!
If you are Looking for a great fulfilling meal, look for this cute joint tucked away in a small corner Yale Plaza in Wallingford.
It is right off 15 !!!
The Pulled Pork, Brisket, and Ribs were very moist, Rib meat came clean off the bone. Sweet potato corn bread was amazing as well.
Staff was very Friendly, nice and helpful when we were asking about selections. We agree with some of the other reviews, that the portions were perfect size.
Highly recommend this place !

Always have heard of this place, not sure what took me so long to actually get here considering I live 15 mins away. This is hands down the best BBQ I've had in quite a while. I can actually taste the meat, not just the sauce, I like how they didn't over do it with the sauce, it was just the right combo. I got mac and cheese as a side, and wish I had gotten an extra side of it, it was so damn good. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Got influenced by the unjustified rave reviews. Tried this place with the Mrs.
Extremely disappointed. Ribs were dry & premade. They probably nuked them for 60 seconds then served them. Pulled BBQ sandwich was another 'regret.'
Ribs at Ruby Tuesday are actually better than this place as they are 'made to order.' And pulled pork sandwich is much better at Joey C's or other local restaurants.
"Food is like Mission BBQ's or at Food Courts in malls." = NOT COMING BACK.

Been a few weeks since coming back to the Pig Rig, with the current situation the country is dealing with, takeout is the option. As expected, food is great, even takeout. The team is working hard to keep things going and I am happy to support. I had the Chicken platter ( chicken thighs, cole slaw and corn bread) and it did not disappoint. The taste is amazing and the sides are perfect. As things improve, I will return to my regular weekly lunch at the Pig Rig and recommend highly.

The food was barely average. I had 1/2 rack ribs which didn’t have a lot of smoke or flavor and the cole slaw was really mushy and was room temperature. Corn bread was good. I’m sure there is better BBQ locally.

We sincerely apologize that you didn't like it. If you had approached us we would have comped your meal and gone out our way to make your visit a positive one. As far as local BBQ, Processed frozen pulled pork is available at any major grocery store. Perhaps you'll find that more favorable. Next time you are in the area seek me out (Dan) the owner and I'll buy your next meal, or I'll even give you fifty bucks to spend somewhere that isn't "average at best" Crazy thing is, everyone that blasts small business's on the web, never seem to have what it takes to address the owner. So the real question is- What's more valuble? $50 bucks or a "local guide" award that absolutley no one cares about except those that pursue such worthless acomplishments? Put that in your smoker.

Very tasty meal. My 14 year old was amazed and did not pick over the onions. We had the Moo sandwich with a side of bean and also the hot dog with beans. We will definitely go back and try other things on the menu when in the area. I will try the ribs next.

Being from Kansas we were searching for kcstyle bbq for my husband's birthday. We found it at pig rig. We both enjoyed the burnt end plate, cornbread, potato salad. Carrot cake and Grack for dessert. The owner is an awesome person, and a veteran. Will definitely be back!

Ribs and chicken smoker done here. We had the sampler and it was ok. Actually we were disappointed . They did have some outside seating . Takeaway was done well with respect to Covid. Ribs had a taste I was not exactly happy with. Others might like that spice,so be fair and try the place. A lot of people like it a lot .

Stopped in again for the weekly fix and never disappoints. Had the brisket sandwich with cole slaw and was perfect. Last time I had the brisket it was fatty, but this time perfect. The coleslaw is amazing too. Not busy in the shop, which is a concern as this place is great. Might be the location but I hope people find how amazing this place is.

Been quite a while since I was at the Pig Rig as it has been very busy with work. But was in the mood so decided to go back, and it did not disappoint. First, facility has been upgraded since I was last here, and it looks great. Second, service always perfect. I ordered the Brisket sandwich combo with Mac and cheese and cornbread. The brisket was amazing and the Mac and cheese was perfect. I ate the cornbread, but not as good as in past as it was dry. Regardless of the cornbread, still great and I will return!

It's been a while since I have been here so decided to treat myself. I was happy to see that the place was busy and I ordered a chicken sandwich and the coleslaw. The chicken was great with the house sauce and the coleslaw was excellent. Will be back and possibly having the food truck come to my office.

While staying in the area for the night, I checked out TripAdvisor for a recommendation saw this review and came here. Excellent choice I had this half rack of ribs with the baked beans and cornbread. Everything was tasty and tender. Thanks TripAdvisor. Counter person was friendly and accommodating.

We had the ribs and pulled pork sandwich. Both excellent as were the baked beans and mac and cheese. Cornbread also very good but any chance it could be warmed up as I think that is the way to go. Prices very reasonable based on the large portions and great quality. Service extremely pleasant. They also do take out and noticed a steady stream of pickups while we dined in. Will return to try out other menu items.
