One of the chefs said disgusting sexual things to my young daughter and laughed about it. We all had to leave. I tried to complain the owner and he called me a crazy b$%^# yet claimed he could not understand English. The manager who understood...me perfectly, said I was overreacting. There are also numerous health code violations.More

My friend and I have been to many Japanese restaurants over the course of 30 years, and this by far is the best ever! The food is the freshest, most flavorful and amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, whether or not...they like Japanese food. To enjoy on this menu! The staff is personable and friendly, ready to help you decide what to have, even if you don't have a clue. We can't wait to go back! My husband can't wait to go there and try it in person. He finished the leftovers and I brought home and he's ready to go! This is truly a hidden gem!!!More

I don’t normally take time to write reviews - when the experience is poor I tend to just move on but... we have been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years and I have been noticing a slow decline in service and quality. Unsure...if this is due to management changes but the experience my family had tonight may have put us off for good. The hibachi chef was clearly not trained - steak asked for medium rare was cooked medium well, squirted saki all over us soaking coats, had problems reading the orders around the table, threw GIANT pieces of zucchini at people and only cut enough for 3, served 1/2 portion of veggies when my daughter ordered the full and then the chef argued about it when questioned. The only reason I didn’t give one star is because the manager tried to make up for it later with extra portions but I was really put off and disappointed as prior experiences up until a few years ago were consistently good. I want this place to succeed because there aren’t a lot of quality alternatives but they are making it very hard to want to come back.More

- Get Groupon, make sure it's 12 hr before you go into restaurant or else they give you very hard time (the groupon code works the second you purchase it, but they will make excuse said it won't work or won't let them scan.) -...tipping your waiter/ess is definitely optional since your waiter/ess won't get that tip $ anyway - no free refill for soft drinks - some food is over charged, be aware - sushi lovers definitely need to go on Wednesday and Thursday cuz it's buy one get one (make sure price is similar or whatever, they only took off the cheapest roll from the bill) - they got over booked sometimes, don't recommend for special holidays. - (hibachi area only) group of 4 or less will definitely need to share the table with strangers if both/all parties came in around the same time (they told their waiter/ess to MAKE SURE to let smaller parties wait so they can combine y'all together) - recommend to make reservation in case they are packed. If you have reservation they will try to seat you ASAP. (But everyone has to show up before they seated y'all, otherwise, wait time!!) - be aware of their hot sake, sometimes they forgot to change the batch and it'll taste funny. - at hibachi, sharing food will be charge $5 per head. (For example: you have two kids both about 3-4 years and barely finish their food/meal, and if you only order one kid's hibachi meal, they will charge you that $5 sharing fee. Just order some small sides less than $5 to avoid this!) - kids under 10y get to order kid's hibachi meal, which means your 11+ year old who don't eat a lot MUST order adult meal, at that point, just order one side hibachi and share the rice and veggies if you don't plan on spending another $20+.More

I brought my friend to Ichiro in Trumbull for her birthday. She had never had Hibachi before and we both absolutely loved it! The service was excellent. The Hibachi guy was very talented and good-humored. He paused so my friend could get pictures and video....At the end of the meal, with no prompting from me, the staff brought over a lovely dessert and sang Happy Birthday to my friend. It was a really lovely evening and we would definitely go back.More

Extremely disappointing. Went for my birthday celebration. It has really gone down hill - it was pathetic. To start, the chef clearly didn't know that you should cook the meat last (so it doesn't get cold) and the vegetables and noodles, FIRST. Ridiculous. Not only...did he serve the meat first, so it got cold while he cooked everything else, he didn't serve the sauces that go with the meat, even after being asked twice. After finally serving the noodles to the table, he realized he didn't give one of the other diners noodles. To solve this problem, he made an unprofessional decision to take noodles off of my plate, while I was eating them, to give to said diner. In addition to the noodles, he also snatched away part of my appetizer which consisted of shrimp. Not only was this a completely inappropriate action, it was also extremely unsanitary, and just plain disturbing. But wait! There's more... Their entertainment consisted of spraying sake in peoples mouths, which is normal in most hibachi restaurants, however it was done in a grotesque fashion that consisted of running out of people's mouths and all over their clothes - disgusting. In addition, the chef sprayed it wildly over everyone, and got it into my elderly mother's eye. She was in pain and had to take out her, now ruined, expensive bi-focal contact lens, and put her glasses on in the bathroom. Her eye was burning and her vision became blurry. It is hours later, and she still is in pain. And to top it off, after voicing our concerns several times, to multiple employers, all that came out of this trouble, was the waitress coming over and saying "Our manager says sorry". The least they could've done was comped her meal. And if all of this wasn't enough, the food quality was extremely below average. What could've been a very fun outing, became a very disappointing disaster. Needless to say, we won't be back.More

When it comes to sushi, two factors make good sushi. First is rice and second is fish. In Japan, people spend fortune to buy good rice & good rice cooker. Most sushi restaurants here do not know how to cook rice for sushi and/or do...not bother to invest in good sushi quality rice. Today, I found very good rice and enjoyed eating it very much. It was simple pleasure. They also served very good hot tea. Service was great too. Miso soup was not quite at 5-star level.More

Had an early New Years Eve dinner and wasn't disappointed. We've eaten there before and it was the same, very good but not 5 Star. They were busy and the server was attentive but we couldn't understand him. The chef who prepared our hibachi dinner...was professional but all business and wasn't the least bit entertaining as the chef next grill over was. All in all we had a very enjoyable dinner.More

It's clean, good service and tasty rolls. If you've got all of that, I consider it a good sushi place. They have an average size hibachi area too if you're into that, or a quieter dining area. Tom roll is my fav.

Went with a small family for hibachi and sushi. We had orders for scallops, filet, and chicken hibachi and a couple of rolls. Overall the experience was okay. Nothing special but nothing bad either. Since this isn't my neighborhood, I probably won't return.

Great place for dinner out with a date, or with family and young kids. It's typical hibachi with group sitting around a grill and a meal cooked in front of you by one of silly, but entertaining cooks. Food is great, especially the appetizer soup!...Seating is also available for menu ordering. Lots of parking and easy access.More
