Food was good to excellent. Service was spotty. Just be prepared to stay awhile. Servings were of a decent size.

Service is so bad. The owner is very rude and would never go again. Go somewhere and do not waste your time going there.
Ordered delivery. The food was very good. Fish curry was spicy and delicious. Tandoori chicken was cooked perfectly. The yogurt sauce is tasty. The basmati rice is very good. My only complaint was how they packed the order. A round container was used for the...tandoori chicken and it is too wide for the square paper bag. So it was put in the bag sideways and all of the chicken juices dripped all over the rest of my order. Also out of the bottom of the bag. I had to clean my countertop and all of the food containers. One thing I was trying to avoid by not cooking that night. Annoying and messy but delicious.More
I was greatly disappointed at my recent visit to Kathmandu. I am not sure what happened but there were so many mistakes, it's hard to write them all down in a quick overview. The entrees were fine but we worried about our guest with Celiac...Disease since the waiter clearly did not understand gluten free. Our drinks were incorrect and arrived with moldy olives. I think it is essential to have at least one waitstaff who is fluent in English and a bartender familiar with the brands and how to make drinks.More
This restaurant had very good food. Service was a little slow, but it was worth the wait. What ruined the experience for me was that this establishment had the nerve to add a surcharge to the bill for paying with credit card. I have never...experienced this in a restaurant in the US. This is a cost of doing business. Its not stated anywhere, just a surprise when you receive the bill. I would never go here again as a matter of principle.More
My favorite Indian restaurant in CT. Do try their lamb biriyani if you're in the area. It is phenomenal.
I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy the posted lunch buffet! It wasn't during the school year so it was easy to find parking on the street and didn't have a wait. The buffet had chicken and vegetarian options along with...one goat dish. Everything was very good, especially the chili chicken. I'd recommend coming in for a visit, especially for lunch buffet if you want to try a little of everything.More
Stopped by for lunch while visiting son at UConn. Excellent buffet at a good price. Staff is very attentive. Looking forward to ordering off the full menu next time we're up there.
stopping by the restaurant you can't be more aware of the different sauces that truly define this stopover. I like the many different kabobs and rice dishes. Worthy of stop.
The food here is very good. They have a lunch buffet daily. The staff is very nice and accommodating.
If you have plenty of time to sit and wait, this is the place for you. Took forever to place our order and a full 45 minutes after that to get our meal. The garlic naan was burned and the meal we ordered, which was...tandoori, was dry and not very good. We had been here before and thought we would try it again. That was the last time.More
I and my family ate dinner at Kathmandu Kitchen last week. We love Indian food and naan bread and wanted to try this new place, especially since they have Nepalese cuisine, which we had never tried. For an appetizer, we ordered plain and garlic naan...bread along with the Vegetable Mo:Mo. The Mo:Mo came with a few sauces. For our entrees, my wife had Lamb Vindaloo, and I had the Nepalese Style Chicken Curry. Both came with Basmati rice. The Mo:Mo was good. I had never had something wrapped in a water based bough before, but the effect was nice -- much better than a greasy egg roll. The taste impact was a little mild, but improved with the sauce. We both ordered our entrees dialed up to "medium" spiciness, and both of us felt like it was too mild. In fact, both of our dishes were almost bland, which is not something we've ever experienced at the Indian restaurants we've tried. It was tasty, but very mildly so. Perhaps this is the Nepalese style? Not sure. The service was quite good. They kept our water glasses filled, and we never felt abandoned or forgotten. The atmosphere? Can't really say there is any. There are a few pictures on the wall, but everything else, from the high ceiling to the plain walls to the almost cafeteria-like tables and chairs say, "Ordinary." I would prefer a few bucks allotted to a good decorator so that the place has some visual appeal. The main downside I would cite here is the prices. I felt they were too high for the decor and the "taste impact" of the food. I would have a hard time going back unless I were intent on sampling something new or looking for something I couldn't get anywhere else. If the food were knock-your-socks-off great, different story. I just can't say that ours was. We will probably try Kathmandu Kitchen at least one more time, to give it another shot. I just know it'll be more expensive than I'd like it to be.More
I love food with exotic spices...they just make everything taste so much better. This place is close to me and my family and I don't have to go far to get such tasty dishes. The prices are a little high but the quality and quantity...are well worth it. Again, the food are so yummy. I ordered the lamb saag, chicken tikka masala and chicken vindaloo, along with garlic Naan and peshwari naan....everything was incredible. I mean we cleaned the plates. we also got 10% off our order. I am definitely looking forward to going for the buffet they offer. Need to try out their desserts. If you are in the area and love Indian food...please give them a try. Sorry, no photos bc I was starving myself all day for the meal. Next time, I will definitely take pics and amend this posting. Happy eating!More
Its rare to find Nepali restaurants that offer a great range of Nepali foods (outside large metropolitan areas). Kathmandu in Storrs CT fits the bill. They offer lots of Indian food as well, but the Nepali items are listed separately and worth trying.
Great addition to the Storrs Center. Nice to have more dining options than UConn area used to offer.
