My wife had the Shrimp Scampi. The shrimp smelled like fecal matter and the taste was horrendous. The pasta tasted like pencil erasers and carried the same horrific smell. I had some kind of spicy chicken sandwich which I wish I had never ordered. It...used to be such a great place. I wouldn't feed the food we were served to my dog.More

May son and I stopped in for dinner and were offered a great meal. Friendly service. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

It had been many years since we last visited Zack's but it is one of our neighbor's favorites so we thought we would give it a try for Valentine's Day. We were so happy we did and will make it one of our regular stops...from now on. Everything we tasted was superior, plus the staff was super friendly. it was quite crowded so we ate at the bar, but that was no drawback. We highly recommend this restaurant.More

We went for dinner after having a drink at the Dog Watch dock. When we went in, we realized it was more of a local bar type of place. It was small and dark, but the waitress was friendly and helpful. I had the prime...rib and it didn't have that much fat at all on it. My wife had the petite filet which was petite. All together, it wasn’t bad. It was warm and friendly and the food was decent. It seemed like a good hang out for the Stonington older crowd.More

Friends invited us to meet them at Zaks. Never been there before, but so glad we went. 3 couples sat at the bar and order appetizers and dinner. Very good food. Bar tenders were experienced and pleasant. Also met the owner. I little difficult to...find, but we will be back. Good menu choices. A hidden gem!More

I was a bit taken back when we entered the parking lot - very off the beaten path and not a lovely view. My fears were not allayed when we first walked in either. It was a rather small and dark restaurant located in a...bar. Once we were actually seated, things began to look up! The server(usually a bartender there) was warm, friendly and helpful. We almost felt like locals. Our variety of meals (linguini with clam sauce, a burger, chicken parm and a swordfish special) were all good. The lobster bisque and New England clam chowder were quite good as well. The meals were reasonably priced and although none were exceptional, I would not hesitate to go back.More

What a pleasant surprise. Zack's looks unassuming from the outside, but looks are deceiving. My wife and I started with some delicious clams casino. She was thrilled with her petite filet and scallops. I had the pork tenderloin with brandy cream sauce (must recreate that...at home some time). Good food and good price in a warm casual atmosphere. We'll go again next time we're in the area.More

We had cocktails at Zack’s as our host knew the history of the bar and also the owner. Definitely worth a visit, good atmosphere 😊 and drinks were reasonably priced 👍

Last evening my wife and I both enjoyed the Fish and Chips special, which also came with a cup of Clam Chowder. It was a good choice for us and we enjoyed our meal very much. We were very well taken care of at the...bar by Beth and Don. Zack's is one of our favorites in Stonington.More

A wonderful restaraunt hiding almost under the Stonington Borough access bridge and near the Acella train tracks. A delightful place with the most friendly staff and super food. Bacon wrapped local scallops, super Clams Casino, a full (long) bar with a wide selection of draft...beers and wines. This is a hidden gem in Stoningotn that you just cannot pass up. A happy hour where the entire appetizer menu is half price from 4 to 6 every day (closed Mondays).More

The two best places for lobster are down the road in Noank, Abbots and Fords. Both can be very busy on a sunny summer day so timing is essential. The crowds are less hectic at two or three on a weekday afternoon. For lobster... More
