We ordered a large regular sausage pie and a large 14” gluten-free pizza with sausage and onions. Got home and discovered the gluten free pizza was a small. I immediately called the restaurant to let them know. First the employee suggested that we actually got...a large but the pizza shrinks when cooked. Said the kitchen confirmed they made a large. I explained that I measured the pizza and it was 12” (size of a small pie) and that we’ve ordered from them before and this was indeed a small. Employee said she wasn’t sure what to do about it and that she would call me back. No call back was made. Clearly they don’t care about their customers. How hard would it have been to make a small pie to make things right? Bad decision and no call back - very poor customer experience! Oh, and they overcharged us for the order - Beware!!!More
Really good thin crust pizza. Fire baked. Quick service. A little pricey when compared to domino’s and other volume shops, but worth it.
We got take out thin crust pizza. It was fine. The crust was thin and chewy rather than crispy. We liked it but some might consider it a bit leathery.
We like eating at Sammy's Pizza. They offer a full menu:appetizers, salads, many kinds of pizza, soup, wraps, sandwiches, entrees, desserts including ice cream and ices. We ordered a whole wheat crust pizza with low fat cheese and mushrooms. We like the thin crispy crust...on the pizza. I also had a vegetable wrap. My husband had a grilled chicken parm hero. We enjoyed all the food and had good service too.More
There's only one other place I'd go for Pizza--Partners in Norwalk. But now that I live in Southport, it's a long way to go. Sometimes we do, but when we want our pizza in a hurry, we go to Sammy's.. We like our pizza really...hot, so we eat it there. In addition to the pie, we might choose a salad, some wine and a beer. Sammy's wine isn't vintage but it's pretty good.More
At every eatery, one would try different dishes and eventually find the 'go-to's' that are terrific every time. With that being said, over the years we've had several of the gourmet pies and not a single one was a fail. The appetizers (like garlic knots)...and sides (like meatballs) have been terrific when you are just not that hungry but want something tasty and satisfying. I know one of my neighbor's kids worked there after school years ago and I've trusted my kids to walk there on their own after school when they don't want to eat the quinoa in our fridge. You can eat there, pick up or order delivery. Just what Southport needs, especially if you get home from work late and it is still open!More
If you like a crisp, thin crust, then this is your place. Best pizza, hands down, that I have had in CT. Their Sicilian is out of this world. They also have many different and wonderful salads so I can make a healthy choice. The...falafal is my favorite. Sammy, the owner, is kind and generous, and always makes his customers feel welcomed.More
We tried Southport Pizza, ordered their Chicken Parm pie and antipasto. The chicken parm pie was horrible and the antipasto was just ok. Sorry but we will not be back.
was closed for so long i forgot i liked this place. Live around the corner, and its now my go to for hot italian sandwiches and pizza in a pinch. thanks for coming back!
I really like this place. I have only been here twice but I am sure I will be back more often now that I have discovered this gorgeous retaurant with delicious food and such an awesome staff.
Very nice decor, great food and service! Very clean dining room and restroom. Delicious quality food!
Pizza by nature, is a very particular taste and has many different acceptances. Southport Pizza House is a local good spot that has very good pizza and can be a quick trip as you travel north on 95.
We enjoy going here for a casual meal. They have a nice menu- pizzas, salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, dinners, drinks, ice cream and ices and other desserts. We ordered two kinds of pizza- small cheese pizza and a large whole wheat crust pizza with low...fat cheese and mushrooms. Our daughter and granddaughter enjoyed the cheese pizza. My husband and I enjoyed the whole crust pizza. We also shared a Caesar salad with grilled chicken - very fresh and tasty. Our daughter also shared a small scoop of vanilla ice cream - generous serving. In addition we had very good service.More
My son was visiting us, with his kids. We spent an hour or so strolling to Southport Beach, and around the village. Since we had the kids with us, Sammy's Pizza seemed like a good choice. I remembered that we had ordered take-out from there,...a few years ago, and it was excellent. We turned up towards the end of the lunch hour, and pushed a couple of tables together, to accommodate all seven of us. The place was still pretty busy - filled with locals. Always a good sign. We ordered two large pizzas - one Clams Casino for the adults and a 'Sammy's House Special' for the kids. Both were splendid. Yes, I tried them both. My son, who knows about pizza, reckoned that it was 'the Best of the Best'. An added bonus was that they serve wine and beer. Not the widest selection, but perfectly adequate for accompanying a pizza. The Chianti was just right. A good place to take the family. Another of Southport's hidden gems.More
