I expect good things from this restaurant; their original Darien location was the start of the Indian craze in Fairfield County. Yet not every location was as good as the original. This one is just as good and in a larger setting. The service was terrific and not hovering; quiet dining for an early weeknight dinner with friends. All the... More

i was driving by and saw this place. i have in the other one in new rochelle if its the same restaurant. it was good food, nothing i would write home about though. to me, it is 'average good level.' what is excellent though is their service. the staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. they are the ones that... Coromandel is a chain of Indian restaurants that has managed to keep each location as good as the original. The atmosphere is an improvement over the original! Great for dates or families, there is something comforting and something interesting for everyone. The dahl - amazing. Lamb, to die for. They get the spices just right.

If you like Indian food, this is the place to go in Southport. It's right off Exit 19. I have never had a bad meal here

Strictly fortuitous. I was southbound on I-95 and took exit 19 (Southport) to take US-1 into Westport. Out of the corner of my right eye I spotted the small sidewalk sign “Lunch Buffet Mon-Fri 12:00 – 2:30 $11.95” I don't often get an opportunity to sample Indian cuisine (my wife is not a fan) so on the spur of the... I was totally blown away as to how good this restaurant is. It was recommended to us for a wine tasting and I was very concerned because I have very high standards for Indian food. However I was not in any way disappointed. The food was excellent. we tried an exceptionally wide diversity of varied and sundry types of food... More

We had a great time and the service was good. The place is cozy and comfortable. The food was delicious and spicy as you wanted to be. My only complaint is the price. $23.00 for six shrimps with rice is kind of expensive. Easily you can spend more than $150.00 for three people. I would go back, but just twice... More

I love this place. I recently visited them after few months and am in love with their Specials...I thought that Indian Food was confined to Masala & Korma.. But not all, it is much more than that.. I love their combinations- Lamb Chops with Pumpkin based curry sauce, Moghulai Chicken Curry and Seafood Duet.. Yummy.. My wife thoroughly enjoyed it..... More

I arrived there at 2.35 in the afternoon for lunch. They had just closed. Being an old customer of Coromandel of Stamford, Mathew, the owner decided to make me special lunch. I do not normally eat any sea food but Mathew suggested a shrimp dish cooked in the Kerala style. Wow! It was incredible. Big portion. Lots of flavor. And... More

Starting off with an outstanding Masala Dosa, my wife ordered the lamb chop special, a generous serving of tasty lamb in a tomato based sauce surrounding a unique bed or rice. I enjoyed the Amchuri Murgh, chunks of chicken in a spicy mango sauce... outstanding, just the right amount of heat and not too sweet, the perfect balance. Overall a wonderful... More
