Stone's Throw has great indoor and outdoor seating and a good menu to enjoy the view. The food is Pubby with a plenty of healthy options. Serve on the patio can be slow at times ...

The staff here is great, we had as our waitress Ali and she was a doll. They have a limited menu but everything is delicious. We had lettuce wedge, crab cakes and clam chowder, all delicious. The scallops were delicious as was the hanger steak!...We and our friends had a great Table where we could see the river activity and so fun to watch all the boats and water skiers, etc. They offer a membership card which is well worth it, $25 and 10% off all items or one year, we saved it this visit.More

I'm sad to share this review. I've had great experiences here in the past. Although the food isn't 5 star dining I always thought its pretty good and worth it for the beautiful location. It was also pretty kid friendly especially outside. This time we...came and were told there were no seats outside. I said that was ok and we sat in the dinning room. In the past we had been offered both bar and regular dinner menus wherever we sat. When I asked the waitress if I could still order the salmon burger she said no sorry that's only on the bar menu. Although I did see them bringing burgers out to customers seated outside. So only the few tables in the dining room cannot order from the bar menu. I ordered the salmon off of the dinner menu which was just ok. I felt like I overpaid for food I wasn't crazy about just because of where we were sat. Even though I was told I didn't have much choice where I was sitting. This was a restaurant I loved going with my husband and daughter that I will now think twice about going seeing as I won't be sitting at the bar with a toddler and soon the outdoor area will be closed.More

Nice view very good and nice waiter... Young person who was very cordial and respectful.. Got a variety of menus to pick from, decided on the burger with bacon Jam that came with fries... My sister had the wedge salad.... Very disappointed in both, the...best thing we're the fries...the burger was thin, and tasteless...and definitely looked like a premade patty, the roll was a plain white Kaiser And dry..I was looking forward to the flavor of the bacon Jam....it was so thin it could not be even tasted..and my cheese was one thing little melted slice it was non existing.. nice brioche roll would have been an improvement.. As for the wedge salad...where the hell was the bacon ..tiny chopped up little bits...so very unappealing looking... Wasn't sure if it was even real cooked bacon..or just cheap stuff from a jar.. The outsider a was nice.. though w few dishes I seen coming out looked ok, I didn't really see much of the inside... Didn't impress me...I won't be going back..More

The Stone’s Throw is a definite step up from most of the restaurants in the area. I have eaten at the Stone’s Throw multiple times with other people and none of us ever had a complaint about the food. The bar menu (available only at...the bar or on the patio) features fresh and tasty items including crowd pleasers such as the Lobster Salad Sandwich, the Grilled Yellowfin Tuna Sandwich, chicken wraps, tacos, and a very tasty properly cooked to instruction grilled sirloin burger. The “Full Menu” include a Wild Mushroom Bolognese and Seared Scallops, both of which are excellent. The food always appears fresh and presentation is excellent. Customers are greeted promptly and courteously at the door for seating. The indoor dining area is relatively small but in good weather you want to sit on the patio which is alongside the picturesque Housatonic River. One area where the Stone’s Throw can improve is having the server be more prompt taking orders and issuing the check. On several occasions there was over a ten-minute delay before we could locate a server to bring us the check and then a further delay in bringing us the credit card charge to sign; definitely not a great finish. In addition, parking is severely limited to the small parking lot at the front of the restaurant which is usually filled with cars. The only other parking option is to park along side Route 34 which is usually a very busy highway.More

What a great experience inside and out!! This place has been here many years and under different names, but it's this name I will remember. Ample parking for the restaurant size right there on Route 34. There is an indoor eating area, three season patio...and outdoor deck on the Housy. The place was neat the staff friendly and hospital throughout our visit. The waiter was very knowledgeable and professional as well. The menu was just right for lunchtime. My steak salad was delicious, the cheeseboard was amazing and diverse, the wine on point and the view splendid. The wife enjoyed her salad and chowder and the experience as well. Would return to check out other meal options. Why not, it's only a stones throw away.More

Went with my son as an early mother's day dinner due to he had to work that day...we were going to be seated in the bar area but the band took up two tables we were seated in the next section and given menus we...found what we wanted and then we're told we couldn't order off the bar menu which we were given so we left there and went to Prime 16 where we sat and enjoyed great food and treated respectfully...I was looking forward to going to stones throw but was very dissatisfied on how we were treated...More

Got there today and waited for half an hour to be seated. We did not have a reservation so this was not a horrible wait because of that. We sat in the bar area which overlooks the river. Very nice area. I ordered one of...the Bloody Mary's which would have been very yummy if it actually had some vodka in it so I guess we could call it yummy homemade V-8 juice. Then we were seated and ordered the cheese platter appetizer which was very good. Flavorful little items perfect for a small bite prior to a meal. I personally would add a small (tinee tiny) bowl of the bacon jam to it. My friend for her main meal got the salmon burger sandwich. She said it was AWESOME. It was not your typical salmon burger. It was fresh made NOT that patty type burger. It was the real deal! I myself got the fish tacos. You get 3 and you can mix and match. Shrimp or grilled fish or fried. I got two fried and 1 grilled. They were very good! And fresh! I did try another Bloody Mary but this time I think they tried to make up for the lack of vodka in the first one because this one had so much vodka you could actually see through the drink IF there wasn't so much horseradish in it. It was a red sea of horseradish and vodka. I would absolutely try this restaurant again. I think that they just weren't expecting so many people as the nice weather came in quickly and people wanted to eat outdoors. I think that they were unexpectedly inundated with people because of the wonderful weather. The owner you could tell was stressed but still had a welcoming smile for everyone. The waitstaff tried to be attentive as they could being short staffed for that time. All and all. The food was awesome, the waitstaff tried to be attentive as much as they could but they seriously need to have a real bartender. They also need a better selection of wine and get rid of that half price wine happy hour so that they can.More
