I've been to this little place about a dozen times, and the food has been consistently good, time and again. The menu is expansive, featuring every which kind of Mexican cuisine. The small staff is unfailingly polite and friendly. I haven't sampled the cocktails. I...love having this opportunity to recommend a local business, ably run by good people.More

Very pleasant staff, a nice change. Always satisfied with our meal. I ordered 2 combination platters and their guacamole. Food is freshly made and worth the wait.

Lots of choices on the menu. Quick, polite, efficient service. Everything fresh and genuine. Nicely decorated surroundings.. Good variety of designer margaritas. If it's your birthday they'll give you a free dessert or small margarita.

Since we moved to Plainville, we've eaten here three times. The food has always been fine fresh and authentically Mexican. Staff are friendly and efficient. We plan to return from time to time.

My daughter calls New England "the land of the bland" and when coming home to the LA area she has always insisted that we stop by Casablanca (Mexican restaurant in Venice, just south of Santa Monica) before even stopping at home to unpack her luggage....We visited this restaurant on the basis of the recommendation from someone we had met a few days earlier in Middletown and we had been lamenting the lack of good Mexican food. He pointed us to El Paso and I'm glad he did. I had carnitas, which was more a rendition of chile verde in my experience but good nonetheless. My daughter had the Oaxaca (Hua-hah-ca) tacos and they were excellent, the mole sauce being very very good. This restaurant is good enough that if it were near home I would go to it. It's not as good as my 2-3 local faves, but is very solid a notch down.More

Found this place accidentally when out in Plainville. The restaurant is small, low key decor. Great food, the best shrimp with garlic I have had, generic but tasty rice with beans sides. Extremely reasonable prices. Would definitely go back

I write this in hope that next time I go to El Paso, I'll still be able to get in. I don't generally go to Plainville to find great restaurants, but Connecticut Magazine listed this place in the January '18 restaurant issue as a critics...choice for best Mexican food. Great, friendly and respectful service, full bar (and Dos Equis on tap), but most of all, fresh, clean, beautifully-prepared dishes. I haven't had Mexican food this good since Middletown's LaBoca's early heyday in the '70s. The taquito fritos appetizer was perfect for the two of us: delicious, rolled corn tortillas stuffed with real chopped and grilled beef (not hamburger or "meat tube"), that was deep fried and topped with quacamole, sour cream, chipotle sauce, and a moderate amount of real queso cheese. Combination platters are not the usual Mexican fare, but interesting combinations that included dishes I've never tried. We will be back--over and over--until we have sampled them all. Bravo!More

El Paso is not super well know but it's a can't miss. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is really very good and authentic and the value is incredible. Extremely reasonably priced. The tacos, guacamole and fresh salsa are outstanding....The staff are friendly. The dining area is comfortable and they do take out as well.More

My wife and I recently ate at El Paso. What a fabulous find this restaurant is. It is very small but has comfortable sitting great atmosphere and authentic Mexican food. We think it's the best Mexican restaurant in our area and there are several much...larger ones the claim to be authentic. El Paso is heads above the others. Highly recommendedMore
