My husband ordered swordfish, I ordered steak. Fast drink service, no a/c, VERY good food! Cooked to perfection, fresh, very reasonable price. Go there before they get a/c and the summer people "discover" this landmark on the corner of Main street.

Eclectic place, old beams of wood above and around . Locals everywhere --- that's always a sign of a great meal. The locals know . Anyway, Friday Prime Rib is amazing. Fresh veg and potato . I pull my iPad out and get some work done... Best Friday Secret anywhere . Thank you - Laura and Deb - you Rock... More

Lobster grilled cheese was excellent as was the lobster roll - maybe the best in Ct. This is an historic building in a very historic location - read the menu. The soup was outstanding too. A true classic not to be missed.

Great comfort foods at a reasonable price. Very friendly place right at the edge of town. It is a bit lied with locals tucking it up and shooting pool. Parking lot is big enough but can fill up at prime dinner hour. Excellent stakes and burgers.

OK, that's a little unfair. There are some great pubs in the UK serving wonderful food (The Star at Harome e.g.), but nowhere in England will you get a couple of hot lobster rolls with fries and coleslaw plus four drinks for £30. We discovered The Monkey Farm quite by chance. We were strolling around Essex Village and a young,... More

Been coming here for a long time and never once had a bad meal or drink. They have by far the absolute BEST beef barley soup that I have ever had!!! The last couple times that I have been here I was hoping they would have the steak tips on the specials menu but unfortunately they didn't,as they are incredible. But never... More

My husband and I stopped in to The Monkey Farm after hearing from friends that the food was great. Pulling into the parking lot, it was hard to find a spot to park at lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon! I had their hamburger which was cooked perfectly, with sweet potato fries and my husband had a corned beef Reuben. He... More

😟when down by the shore we've always wanted to try this place, well we did last night w/a group of 6. Dissatisfied with the service & food & atmosphere. First of all, we were told our only choice for seating was out on the enclosed porch. Ok. Not bad...until we felt like outsiders looking in. No other people, music &... More

This place was really really good. I had the best Cobb salad that I've had in a long time, and the other members of my party had sandwiches. Everything was super fresh; the sandwiches were packed with fresh meats. Bright and airy porch dining was a pleasure. We're coming back!
