Super cute little restaurant. Every meal I've had there has been excellent. My wife has never gotten past the wood plank chicken.

We ate here about a week ago. The lamb and the lobster salad were wonderful. My wife's lobster risotto was ok mostly lobster scraps in soggy risotto. We had a wonderful evening. However, about 1 1/2 hours after we got home the sautéed sardines I ate started swimming upstream along with the chicken pasta dish that I should not have... More
We have dined (not luncheons) three times in last eight months, and the restaurant is either going to establish itself as a truly 4.5-5 star operation, or it is going to slide off the edge to providing a meal, but nothing to truly be proud of. Possibly it is a victim of its own success, but my impression is that... More
We have been here before and the food was delicious. We made reservations for a small group. When we made the reservations, we specifically asked for separate checks, but upon arrival we were told no separate checks. What a nightmare for the waitress- since you weren't busy (One other table other than ours), it would have been easier to do... More
We have passed by here a number of times only just living down the road and are really sorry not to have come in sooner! The food is excellent, the drinks are delicious and the service was great! Pork belly is a must try. We had a number of the tapas and there was not one we didn't like. We... More
Just enjoyed our first visit to Basso, and it won't be our last. We were there early on a Saturday night (6 pm) although the place was packed by the time we left at 8. Service was attentive, well-informed, and helpful; the atmosphere casual and pleasant. Our party of four loved the Basso salad, the mussels, the scallops, the rack... More
We tried to get inside but the hostess said all tablers were reserved...this happens all the time they leave tables vacant waiting for layer reservations who may or may not show up...it turned out 2 tables were still empty when we finally left...we were outside in a rocky table right on the street and Mosquitos got me.."now the service was... I had something they called "Caldo Gallego". It had nothing to do with that Spanish dish from Galicia, had a lot of meat in it, and overpowered the entire dish. Then I had the risotto with lobster. The rice was hard, and the piece of lobster were hard and chewy. That was 0 for 2. E X P E N... More
Terrible. The Pulpo a la Gallega, is a culinary nonsense, bad taste and lack of wit. The lamb, without exhibiting excessive imagination accompanied of a fluffy rice. The desserts without variety. The bar without provisions, there was no Baylis, or Tia Maria. Expensive, good attention, the waiter do not knew what to say when we asked for something and he... More
Once Again, we consider your opinion is more a personal attack than a legitimate review, the pulpo: one of the best app in Fairfield county genuine authentic recipe; the lamb is served with creamy green peas risotto, (creamy no fluffy) we have a FULL bar stock with everything we need to provide a extensive variety of drinks and we do...
