Stopped for dinner and had the basic lobster roll, crab cakes and tomato basil bisque. All food was fresh and cooked to order. Personally, I prefer the lobster rolls in Maine but Abbott's is a good choice if you're in the area.

DH and I were surprised at this place when we arrived. Outside a large menu is posted and you order at the counter. We both ordered the lobster dinner (1.5 pound lobsters), which came with coleslaw and a bag of chips for about $25. We didn't realize this was a BOYB, so while we waited for our order DH went... On a rainy night and craving for lobster we drove south a few miles from Mystic CT to Abbott's Lobster restaurant. Please don't miss this place as it's quite an experience if you're traveling around Mystic and southeast Connecticut. Terrific seaside location, abundant outdoor seating for dry pleasant weather, and the best selection of lobster items. No table service but... More

Well, they're closed for the season now, so you need to wait until next year. That said, they offer a good selection of lobster and seafood dishes. There is lots of outdoor seating on picnic table benches and some limited indoor seating when the weather is bad. They also offer a selection of desserts (mostly ice creams). It's a bit... More

We stopped at Abbott's based on a recommendation from a friend. It was a casual atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. You order your food at the window and then pick your seat and wait for your # to be called. They have a good selection of items including clam chowder and full lobsters. They allow you to bring in... I had not been here since I was a kid, so I was looking forward to a return. We ordered the OMG hot lobster rolls, steamers and creamy clam chowder. We picked up the soup and found a table on the pier. The soup was burning hot and I almost scalded my mouth on it. The PA system announces the... More

Wonderful lobsters as always! It is not only a wonderful outdoor setting for eating lobster, but also they have the freshest lobsters in CT. Love the variety on the menu, including the classic hot lobster roll with butter. Husband got a whole lobster and it was fresh and delicious. The chowder is good, too. Quality is always good there.

Be sure to use a GPS to get there. Once you find it it is a diamond in the rough. Walk up window to order then go find a table and wait for your number to be called.

We started with steamers and clam chowder and they were delicious. Then my husband and I ordered the 2 1/2 pound lobsters each and we were very happy that they broke the claws and tail for you to make it easier to enjoy. Great place to enjoy the boats go by while you eat your delicious lobster!!

Abbott's Lobster in the Rough has been around for years and years. We try to go every year but it's getting harder and harder because the restaurant is SO popular. We've missed a few years but we finally made it back this year. Instead of fighting the summer crowds, we waited until a beautiful summer day. At Abbott's, you eat... More
