fresh Fresh FRESH

Extremely quality food here! Fresh Turkey and Ham grinders were great. Rolls fresh Dailey from NY and meats and cheeses from Italy! Homemade soups. Will be back.

Fresh, perfect grinder rolls. I had eggplant that was sliced paper thin and fried with skin on, properly salted to avoid the bitter taste. Absolutely delicious. My husband had the Italian combo. It was artfully made, with a choice of hot or sweet copocolla and mortadella with or without pistachios. Make sure to ask for roasted peppers if you want... More

I stumbled upon this place which is quite near where my family live, and was I ever happy I did! Ernie is charming, Theresa is a terrific chef (trained at the Culinary Institute so she knows about food prep, cleanliness, etc. in addition to being a fantastic cook) and man, their grinders are a religious experience! Try the meatball, the... More

Covino's is a good reason to visit Niantic Ct. The sandwiches are fantastic, the owner is a gem, old school Brooklyn Italiana and a class act. The bread delivered fresh from a bakery in the Bronx every day is crispy and delicious. His mozzarella is the best this side of Grand Street in NY. We stop by for lunch when... More

What a great place! We never knew this place was here. It's right on Main Street and I am so happy we ventured in. They make a lot of their own foods, rather than buying premade heat and serve foods. They are very friendly, the food is great and the service cannot be beat! We'll be back soon!

Great Italian cold cuts, salad, olives and breads. Try the stuffed peppers. Ernie is witty and entertaining.

My wife and I rarely eat outside of our home. Both have extensive high end food background so we're ruined when it comes to dining out... But then we walked into Covino's. Like a step back in time. The care and service and quality of everything is nothing short of perfect. Honestly, I'm afraid to try the grinders. Just the... More

The sandwiches and grinders are always top-notch - fresh and delicious. They put a lot of care into their food, and you can tell they take pride in everything they do. The people who work there are such nice, pleasant, down-to-earth people. I love this place!
