I always enjoy coming to the Black Sheep and it is usually October when the sun is warm and the colours are wonderful. As usual my wife drops me off for a couple of pints while she and her sister Kathy go wandering about the Niantic shops. The warm sun, a book on my Kindle and a couple of Pumpkin... More

My wife's pulled pork sandwich was supposed to come topped with melted cheese. There was none. We waited 25 minutes for an uncomplicated lunch order. Then we waited 10-15 minutes for our check to come after we had finished eating. We have been here many times and this experience was not up to par.

Service a little slow at first but the waitress was sweet and friendly. Food was really good. Little more of a pub atmosphere.

The food was good.. the beer selection .. eh... nothing fancy..basic bar and grill. I didn't feel that the staff was very friendly either

Well, one typically goes out to eat in hopes of finding great food, interesting menus, and good service. The Black Sheep qualifies high on all three counts. Add a plus (if this appeals to you) on portion size...folks here must think they are still serving hungry sailors for servings are huge. The negative, if this is fair, comes from ambience....the... I've been there a few times and the food is "comfort food"....filling...nothing special. The atmosphere is loud. Tin ceiling..brick walls..wood floor...all sounds resonate to the extremes. If your are a millenial trying to pick up someone..this is your spot. Good live music on the weekends. Young atmoshere. Great place for Niantic but not my cup of tea.

Soups and salads were very tasty. Will return. They didn't seem to have enough waitstaff for a holiday weekend

Great new menu-- hubby had the barbecue pork and said it was excellent. I had the grilled vegetable salad with salmon and a Chardonnay . Can't beat it! $50 with too, and the waitress was a charmer!

Grilled vegetables were superb!!! Husband so-so with Shepard's pie, but loved the choice of beer. The service was outstanding. Plan to return when we are in the area again.
