Had dinner on July 3 at the Black Sheep and because it had been recommended we had high expectations. My husband had bangers and mash which had beans from a can and I had scallops that were fine but the spinach accompanying them was not good.

My wife and I ate dinner at the bar at The Black Sheep restaurant & Pub in Niantic, CT on Monday evening, 6/27/16. A large dark mahogany bar with dark woodwork including columns around the bar catch your eye in this Irish pub. It has a large selection of draft craft beers as well as American draft and bottles. We... More

The Black Sheep is the place to be on a summer night -- they have a good selection of beer on draft and a nice mix of items on the menu. You can get your Irish on with bangers and mash or shepard's pie or if that's too heavy for you in the summer there are Stonington scallops or crab... More

Anytime I get to Niantic I always stop in a few times for great food. The staff is always friendly, and whether you get a table inside or outside, service is always timely.

This was our first visit to the area and this restaurant was recommended by a local, so maybe it was a bad night. However, we were really looking forward to a nice dinner on their adoreable patio. Though the weather was beautiful and it was the Memorial Day weekend, there was still plenty of seating immediately available, so they weren't... More

Nice place although very noisy. I had an excellent piece of salmon with great sides, lots of flavor. Service was just ok on the slow side but they were having computer issues that night. I would try again.

My husband and I went to The Black Sheep last night for our date night. Service was exceptional without being annoying, food was better than amazing! We started with the house chips w/garlic cream -a must if you go there! I had the Honey Glazed Salmon & my husband had the Ahi w/pineapple salsa. Yes it can get loud there... More

My wife and I visited this Irish type restaurant for the first time the first week of April, 2016. We had a very nice, happy waitress that told us to try their specialty drinks. The drinks were great. Then we tried their home-made chips which were excellent. Their salads were almost a whole meal and shepherd pie was super. It... More

This is a Pub - fairly noisy in a fun way. We had a family gathering - 5 adults & 4 children ( 8 months to 5 years) - and they seated us right away. My wife & I had the 8 ounce Whisky Burger - they were hugh and delicious. Cooked perfectly. Sweet potato fries - yum. The table... More
