Aside from the service being incredibly slow (getting dinner on the table took 45+ minutes), my chicken was so overcooked that it was inedible and I sent it back. By the time they sent out some not-so-hammered chicken, my husband was finished with his dinner...and I was left eating by myself. Considering how expensive the place is, I would expect better food, and much better service. What a disappointment.More
Passed by a number of times, always wondered. Went in on a late Saturday afternoon for a couple of burgers. Wife had hers medium well with fries, mine just medium with onion rings. Cut burgers in half looked cooked identical. Fries were good, onion rings...a little greasy. They say it comes with coleslaw, they give you one of those little ketchup cups with the coleslaw in it could not be more than a teaspoon full, which is a shame because it actually tasted pretty good. Wilty lettuce, green tomatoes. Am glad at least we gave it a shot. On a good note, service was prompt and knowledgeable.More
My first experience with Dinerluxe was so bad it has taken me over a year or more to return, but so many of my friends in the area told me give it a second chance.
I left my dog off at Unleashed Doggie Daycare and...wanted breakfast, had past Dinerluxe and thought it was time.
My server Maria, I ordered 1 Santa Fe Wrap(two eggs scrambled with fresh avocado tomato, monterey jack cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla, served with side of salsa) and 1 Melba French Toast (Our D'luxe French toast layered with cream cheese and raspberry sauce topped with sprinkled powered sugar served with butter and syrup).
My Santa Fe Wrap arrived and it consisted of scrambled eggs and lots of chopped tomatoes, no avocados, no Monterey Jack cheese, no side of salsa. I explained to Maria I had ordered a Santa Fe Wrap and all this was scrambled eggs and chopped tomatoes wrapped. Maria was very apologetic and took it back into the kitchen.
When Maria returned she gave me the cooks apology and said he saw the error right away. I am happy to say the cook made a good rebound, avocados, nicely toasted flour tortilla, and salsa on the side, still couldn't taste any Monterey Jack cheese, all. in all good wrap. French toast very good despite no sprinkled powered sugar on top.
Let me say Maria you did a good job and handled my situation in a very professional manner. I will return.More
Holiday brunch with large group of family is usually a recipe for disaster. But service was quick and helpful with everybody able to get what they wanted. Food served hot, again difficult with a large group. All drinks were kept filled and dishes cleared without...seeming intrusive. My only criticism was that my corned beef hash was really blah.More
The food is very good: typical diner menu with a vast array of choices. We have gotten good service there, but experienced bad service enough times that we won't go back. Things may have changed but it wasn't hit-or-miss but more miss than hit.
We stopped for a snack to hold us until diner time since we were traveling and noticed the dessert case on the way in. Our waiter recommended both the tiramisu and the chocolate mousse cake.hubby had the mousse cake which had a wonderful dark chocolate...ganache covering the top- not to sweet and a perfect compliment. My tiramisu had a great flavor but was a little light on the marscapone cheese mixture and needed to have the lady fingers around the outside brushed with some coffee- they where a bit to dry. That said, I would try it again to see if was just a off day for the baker. BTW the dessert prices were very fair compared to the rest of the menu.More
We went there for lunch. Ordered 3 cream of broccoli soups. It was served barely heated. When the waitress came back 20 minutes later we told her about it. She went back to the kitchen and then told us that the machine used to heat...soup was broken. No apologies given, no offer of fixing the problem AND we were charged!!! This was the second time we’ve gone there and had cold food ( last time it was a burger and fries ). Thought we’d give them another shot because everyone can have a bad day. Will never step foot in that place again. Terrible food and even worse service.More
